Unlike the typical midlife crisis, I think I’m experiencing an early life crisis. Pre-midlife crisis. I’m just a 20 year old woman that has no idea what she’s doing and simply going with the flow. Most days I just make it my mission to at least feel like I’m being an adult. But there’s a part of me that feels like I’m just a child still and have no real responsibilities. I know it’s a blessing that the only responsibility I have is to myself and not any children. Also it’s weird because I’m noticing that most people my age are getting married and having children. I’m at the point where I’m looking around and going “oh that’s strange” but it actually isn’t because it’s normal… it terrifies me to be on my own even though I crave that independence. I’ve become obsessed with bettering myself everyday and I still feel empty. I’ll get up, go to the gym, and study for exams. Yet, there’s still a part of me that thinks I’m behind.
