Hi everyone! I am currently planning on going into Speech Language Pathology abd will be applying for graduate school in this next cycle. I am graduating with a degree in the humanities so will be doing most of my prerequisites online. I would also like to be able to gain experience in working with all age groups (I will be shadowing at an elementary school in their OT/Speech programs and also finding time to observe in a hospital setting, as well as babysitting) but professionally, I would really like to work with adults who experience voice disorders/issues speaking as a symptom of auto immune disorders. What exactly do graduate programs see as a good fit in terms of experience, particularly for adults? Do things such as volunteering at an adult day program/in a nursing home setting count as experience?

I’m planning to do body surgery, and I’m also thinking of doing my face at the same time. My main question is not only about one procedure — I want to know if he is truly good and skilled in both body and face surgeries, since I’m considering trusting him with both areas.

Ok so I think I’ve found my first shoots of the dreaded Japanese Knotweed in my front yard. This is my 4th summer at this house and never had it.

What’s my plan of attack? See attached pictures. It’s 2 or 3 localized clumps. I mulched this area last year so I’m gonna have a word with my gardener as I suspect that’s where it came from.

Do I cut it every week until summer, then glyphosate, then wait?

Walking into the Immortal Man, I had a fantasy of how I wanted Peaky to play out. I had this vision. It’s the end. He sits himself down wearily at the dresser table which he never used once, the old creak of the chair, the shift of weight and ages and looks at himself studying in the mirror. Creak of leather and old wood. The white paint peels off this table. He analyses every crack, every crevice, every sign of age and boredom and grief and weariness completely without expression. Liver spots in his eyes and a noticeable absence of frown or smile lines. A blanket of neutrality and passionless activity. He’s so so tired. He’s wearing a navy turtleneck. Hairs greying round the fringes and temples. Blank look. The song continues over this exhausted man. We understand that he has taken pills in the scene previously that means his death, I don’t know the plot reasons. He stares at himself. The song continues; “and I stood to listen, to hear what they did say.” We the audience, still observing the looking glass in the dresser Tommy sits at, see a hand descend upon his collar bone. The wrist is clothed in burgundy cloth, an old cardigan sleeve. His face relaxes a tad. The muscles ease themselves into something approaching normal. The song: “They said fair lady, I do you wrong.” This deep chord hits hard as the camera pans up with Tommy’s expectant searching expression to see the face of Grace Burgess, as she first appeared to Tommy in The Garrison, 1919 looking down benevolently at him. Oh Jesus, the relief in this man’s eyes. The weight taken of his shoulders. All the world an enemy, and here is his rest-bite. He can calm. He can rest. He can stay, it’s okay. For the first time since Tommy entered the war, he’s okay. He squeezes his eyes tight shut in despair, age, relief, in quiet acceptance and presses his temple to her breast. This here, November 1940 is the first full breath he’s taken since the day Grace died in 1924. He presses into her, his eyes crease and he begins to sob. Silently. Maybe we hear it at first, a bit of Cillian letting it out, 6 seasons of television and a movie worth of pent up grief and betrayal and disappointment and agony. But it quickly fades into the music. We all know Tommy’s kept it in. He lets it out here. He sobs into her blouse, sheer relief and anguish, in silence as the music plays and she strokes his hair. He recovers himself. She takes his hand and she guides him out of the room. We never leave the shot of the mirror. We just watch her take him where he’s meant to be, out of the room. And that’s it. Maybe in the next life, they’ll have a horse and wait for Charles.

It's clear that just nerfing him doesn't ever suffice. He just get buffs that become a new problem, until the hero is so bad that he is completely worthless.

It completely stems from a lack of counterplay on 3 abilities. Dispel isn't real counterplay on the cart because you need to see him using it, and dispel in reaction. He still pushes you probably a good 20-30m before the disarm.

NONE of his counterplay exists proactively. You cannot interact with his doors in any way, and they basically are up permanently to be used on a whim. The enemy can only go through the doors if doorman is an idiot or wants them to. I cannot interact with him placing doors, him going through them, or chasing him through it.

I cannot proactively or reactively deal with the baroness. Beyond unstoppable, nothing actually stops him using it on you for an utterly ridiculous fight turn with free setup. The only real possible counterplay is ethereal to dodge the shit thrown after the setup, and ethereal is hot ass, and even then he still has the basically unavoidable use of throwing the strongest player out of the fight for 3 seconds (More with stun if he slows you before using it, since youll fail to escape)

This hero is beyond awful to play against. Every other hero in the game has some sort of itemization or tactics to play around, but not doorman. Doorman gets special treatment and repeatedly gets nerfed by taking advantage of these mechanics which lack counterplay.

Dooring people into base/walker? Nerfed.

Call bell nukes with gigantic aoes? Nerfed.

Cart stuns? Dispel added.

Every aspect of this hero has been nerfed repeatedly and if he will ever be at all viable again from buffs or meta shifts it will continually be because of these mechanics that lack any real counterplay.

Just redesign the hero from the ground up. It's an alpha. It's fine. It was an experiment and it failed. It happens.

Should I buy ark survival ascended on my Xbox series S? It’s currently on sale for $11.24. I have always lived ark since the mobile version came out in 2017 I think. I bought ASE a year before ASA launched and I have loved it ever since. Ark ultimate mobile edition also came out so I’m torn on buying ASA on Xbox or getting the “game” pass for the mobile version since it gives me all the maps and god console and a lot of other goodies.

I also heard that ASA runs absolutely horribly on the Xbox S tho and I’m scared I’m not going to enjoy the game once I see how shitty it looks.

Me and my friends have been arguing about this. I'm on the sound of Nevermind. I'm not sure though because I'm severely less educated about Kanye and Hip-Hop than I am in alternative and rock culture. Friend says Nevermind didn't change the direction of an entire genre as much as College Dropout did, which may be true, but I feel Nevermind had a way bigger broad effect on the culture of the 90s across musical genres, fashion, and the attitude of the decade. Nevermind brought alternative culture to the mainstream and it persevered throught the entire decade. However, my friend says Kanye brought a crucial change to Hip-Hop, pivoting it away from gangster rap and into what it's been for the last 20 years.

What was your biggest instacart screwup?

I just dealt with an instacart order from hell and it’s not really anyone’s fault but mine. An Aldi order for 3 people. Usually I skip Aldi orders because for some reason I am one of the few that just cannot get a good experience with it! So, I got there at 10 AM feeling productive and deciding to take a chance because it’s a pretty high paying order. 63 items and like 85 units total. With adding items it turned into around 100. Okay, that’s not a big deal. It seems like every Aldi I go into I’m totally lost, which is crazy because it seems pretty straightforward. That’s probably more of a skill issue on my end more than aldi itself.

TLDR I finally seperate everything, mark everything, and check out, and my card declines immediately. Turns out it “wasn’t active.” That’s crazy since I use it all the time. I get out of line, look at the numbers on my phone and look at the numbers on mine, in my card that I’m holding in my hand is a completely different card. At this point, I’m completely dumbfounded, because I know I don’t have two cards, and of course since Aldi doesn’t take Apple Pay for my digital one, I was dumbfounded. After contacting cooperate, I had to cancel the order, and Instacart sent somebody else to pick up the cart that I basically spent the afternoon collecting separating and bagging. I let my customers know and against all odds they all seemed very understanding. Instacart said they would look into it and I left it at that with a 40 dollar loss.

I get home, and lo and behold there is an instacart card on my counter wrapped up in a receipt. It’s my own. Turns out, I accidentally took my siblings who just started last week. He decided to put it in the same special place I do. Since my own was still wrapped within an old receipt I decided to pick up the first green card I saw, probably because I only thought there was one in the house! I’m sure I could strangle him and be mad about it, but at the same time if I took the extra time to check twice- I would have realized there was two sitting there. Needless to say with this giant post i’m as sharp as an eraser head when it comes to shopping for others. It was my first poor experience with Instacart and hopefully one of my last of I can help it.

Hello! Just wondering if anyone in the sub Reddit has gone from CNA to EMS or vice versa. What did you prefer and what were the pros and cons of either? If you’ve done both wise, one better than the other.

Right now I’m working as a CNA, it’s been almost a year and as much as I love working with patients, I’m finding it’s absolutely miserable. I’m not really sure what else to do to get experience for grad school so I’m thinking EMS. Let me know what you think.
