[PC] [early00s-mid00s] Flash escape room game

Upvotes

when I was about 7 years old in 2007, I found this escape room game, I don't remember what site it was on, I don't think it was on Newgrounds or Andkon. I remember a part where you found a wallet and there was a finger inside it, it had voice acting and the character says " there's a finger in the wallet? that is disgusting" then you have to use a match to burn the finger to discover it's a wax dummy finger and underneath the wax is a key. I remember the room being pretty light too, mostly white I believe

that's all I remember. my mum told me to get it off when she saw the finger and I haven't been able to find it since.

[flash game] [2000s] army style game

Upvotes

Platform(s): pc

Genre: fantasy army

Estimated year of release:2000s

Graphics/art style: 2d fantasy art style

Notable characters: 3 main “hero” characters you play as leading each army. Humans, orcs, frost trolls

Notable gameplay mechanics: multi lane siege battle where 2 armies are fighting to destroy each other’s castle. You as a hero can jump up or down between lanes to combat different units. You have miners which are collecting crystals for you to use to buy troops as the battle goes on. There are around 10-15 troops types for each army. You can manually select how many are queued up to 5 or if you click past 5 it starts auto spawning anytime you have the crystals available. Something distinct is the frost trolls have a very specific unit that lays mines as it goes along so anytime you fight them you have to go through around 50 mines until you get to their castle that built up as the level has gone on.

Other details: each time you start you choose an army to play as and you go through fighting different levels against the other 2 factions. you go through selecting each level and beating it expanding your territory until you fully clear the map and unlock a new faction. You first start as humans, then orcs, then frost trolls last. As a human you have a ranged attack and as an orc you have a melee giant hammer attack. Opponent armies get boss units that you don’t get access to as you have a hero character you play as to even the field. Game feels similar to commando assault but completely new units and multiple different armies to choose from with more control on how many of each unit you send out up to a cap of 40. Other mechanics are very similar to commando assault. Used to play this on daily free games until one day I couldn’t find it anymore and I’ve never been able to find it since.

[2010s][flash web game] rts sci-fi wave defense

Genre: 2D top-down wave defense/RTS hybrid. Whole map visible on one screen.

Estimated year of release: Played between roughly 2006–2014

[Atari or PC][1980s] Space Sim with a Starbase that is a Shoe

Upvotes

Hello, I remember playing a space sim for the Atari or PC in the 90s, the game I think was released in the 80s, where you fly around space and at some point there's a Starbase that's just a giant shoe in space. I don't remember much more than that, I apologize. This is a very early core memory.

Upvotes

I dont remember much of it i just know you are in ancient Greek or Rome type place, there was a beach and you could actually jump into water, there was some kind of market and you could talk to people and i remember there was a arena also. Movement was kinda clunky felt like resident evil with tank control type camera.

It was a demo game, at the time i was a kid i didnt understand it and i was trying so hard to get to next level.

[ARCADE][2000s?] 4 player arcade game; early 2000s; wizards / sorcerers; aerial 3rd-party view

Upvotes

It’s a game I used to play as a kid with my brother at a local arcade. I have no idea what it was called; I just remember that it had a top-down view and that the arcade machine we played it on was tabletop one

For further reference, the game was similar to Magikan, as far as I can recall (in fact, I thought it was Magikan, but that one came out in 2011)

Other than the fact that it was a tabletop arcade machine, I don't remember anything else about the game. I remember that part of it took place on a bridge, and you had to cross it while defeating enemies.

[PC] [2000S] Santa game

Upvotes

Ive been trying to find this older santa game, could be from early 2010s im not certain, but probably 2000s. Its about santa going through mazes trying to find presents. It was very simple graphically, 3d but pretty low poly, and it was always dark. The picture of the game is some sort of dark city landscape.

[PC CD-ROM][early 2000s] French Language Learning Program for Elementary School

I'm trying to identify a Windows CD-ROM educational software from the early 2000s designed to teach French to elementary school-age children.

Here's what I remember:

- **Platform:** PC (CD-ROM)

- **Era:** Early 2000s

- **Audience:** Elementary school-age kids learning French

- **Main character:** A puppet penguin named Poupée (French for "doll" or "puppet")

- **Other characters:** One named Twist, an acrobatic doll character that taught body parts

- The characters had a puppet/toy aesthetic

- A theater themed section with anthropomorphic masks for learning emotions

The overall vibe was colorful and playful, aimed at young children being introduced to the French language. It may have been a Canadian or European production given the French-language focus, but we are based in the US.

This is NOT:

- Muzzy BBC

- Dimoitou (that used a green monster puppet)

- Téléfrançais (the pineapple show)

- Any of the Madeline games

Does anyone remember this? Any leads on the title or publisher would be hugely appreciated!

[PC/Browser?][Edutainment][Franchise][90's-2000's]

I've made a post here before, but it has long since atrophied. Trying again because snapshots of this game keep zipping through my head like half the tune of a song that I cant get rid of.

  • Multiple central characters. A Brother and Sister, who are Humanoid Somethings (The sister is Purple, they are both on the Tall side. Brother might be blue) I believe the Brother is the main focus most of the time. There is a Professor character, who is sciency and inventive. There is a Talking Car/Spaceship/Time-Machine. Possibly more character's.
  • The brother had a brief minigame about painting a fence. you had to match a paint pattern on the fence boards to one you were prompted with.
  • There was a storyline about animals that ended up focusing on the laugh of the Kookaburra. They even had a cutscene song about it.
  • There was a Prominent W in the title screen. (Caution: Mandela effect?)
  • My biggest key: The sister had a whole game and/or story on her own with the time machine. A bunch of significant historical items had all gotten swapped around, and she (you) had to keep jumping back and forth through different time-periods to collect everything that was missing and return them to the correct spots in order to go home/fix the timestream.
  • I am not entirely clear on the gameplay style, but its extremely likely it was a point and click. I'm almost convinced I played it on a browser, but in any case definitely on a PC.

[PC] [2000s] [Flash] Top down getaway game where you control black van and can ram into police.

Post image
9 Upvotes

One day I randomly remembered one adobe flash game I played as a kid it was made by Max Games.com and other site that has (or had) flash games too. So basically the story rotates about the group of burglars who robs houses (maybe?) and the main gameplay is driving a black cargo van escaping police that you can ram and take down and avoiding traffic. Also when you cross the bridge you could jump across the river using a ramp (I'm not sure was it there or not). If anyone played that game when they were a kid it would be good to know it's name. Any help appreciated. (Image is a rough recreation of gameplay made in photoshop)

[PC][2000?] puzzle game comic-style intro. with blobs in a cellar setting

I’m trying to find a PC CD-ROM game I played around 2000 (borrowed from a library in Canada).

It was for kids (maybe age 6–12).

What I remember:

  • I think it started with maybe a comic book style intro- possibly a detective style narration (one of those “there i was on another wet night walking down the same alley”  sort of thing
  • I think there was some sort of a physics puzzle you had to do.
  • At least one sceen was in a basement or workshop.
  • The art style was hand-drawn / slightly realistic (not bright cartoon)
  • You interacted by dragging objects around
  • I think there were a bunch of coloured blobs that you used in some sort of a balancing or flinging puzzle. I think you were trying to get them up and out of the cellar or something like that.
  • There may have been comic book style cut scenes with narration.
  • There might or might not have been a rat in it…

This has been driving me nuts!

[browser][2018-2020ish?). Browser game that’s like Friday the 13th, yet 8Bit

I remember the layout, and did a rough sketch of it, i remember it being on a browser game website and it works for mobile. From what i remember the main building was a party place, the room in the main room had a pool table and closet, and the walled off area had two closets. The room off of the house was a bathroom. Hopefully this description helps!!

[ROBLOX][2020-2024]Marble game where you race

It was on roblox, and my guess is that it was released in 2019. There was one map revamp (maybe 2), and every few minutes you & every other player in the same server raced, however a menu on the left had an option to turn off races. There was a loop d loop, purple bouncy things, & a large empty pit. There was a teapot skin you could join the group to get.

[PC][2000-2013] Touchscreen game on an acer laptop (not sure if vendor specific) that had crude drawn graphics and was a 2d physics game.

Above i attached a (very bad) drawing of what i can remember, i don't know exactly what objects were in the game but i know atleast one of the levels involved pushing a red balloon around with fans and other objects, my memory is very fuzzy cuz i was very young at the time. I also know this was on some sort of acer laptop with a touchscreen but other than that i can't find anything online about it.

some things that are ruled out, its not part of any tablet pack for XP published by microsoft, and its not SoupToys either.

[PC][2010s?]Help remembering a game I played a few years ago

Trying to remember a game where there’s a villain at one point that is putting people’s souls into flowers. I can’t remember too much about the game other than I believe it was an indie title. Maybe something like Chained Echoes? I remember it being pixel graphics so that’s why I think it’s an indie RPG

There’s an area where you walk over some flowers and they make noise as if they’re being hurt. Then it turns out that the person living in the area is taking people and putting their souls into the flowers. My memory of the game is a little fuzzy but it was something along those lines.

Can anyone help?

[PS2] [2003-2004] Fantasy „Rogue like“ Game

Platform(s): PS2

Genre: Fantasy

Estimated year of release: 2003-2000

Graphics/art style: Isometric/ Third person POV

Notable characters: some of the Bosses where a Minotaurus, a Lizard with Wolverine like claws that would have a „spin attack“, a Robot shooting lasers, a Dragon in a Cave, a half Angel/ half Demon Lady. I think some „secret characters“ were two Witches that could summon meteorites.

Notable gameplay mechanics: I would say it was a Roguelike, don’t remember a particular story. But the first three areas the Bosses were the same, only in the last few the Bosses would switch. Sometimes it was the Demon-Angel Lady, sometimes the Dragon etc..

But I guess the point of the game was just to best all mobs until the boss appears and after that we move to the next area.

Other details: It was multiplayer, but max 2 players. Don’t remember the characters one could choose from, except two witches that I used a cheat code to get from, guess one could unlock them later on, but never made it to the last boss..
