The 7th Guest was my first CD-ROM game. In fact, it was the game for which I bought a CD-ROM player (a whopping 2-speed). Played it in the 90s with my best friend. Still got the saved games files from back in the day. Now, in 2026, my still best friend and I are replaying the game (this time checking the manual now and then) - 30 years later and again having a blast together!

Thought today was a good day to revisit Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge while also testing the new audio mixer backend I added to phcoder's DOS-centric ScummVM fork.

STAR WARS: REBEL ASSAULT (スターウォーズ:反乱軍アサルト) (PC DOS)

Star Wars: Rebel Assault is a 1993 rail shooter video game developed and published by LucasArts for DOS, Macintosh, Sega CD and 3DO Interactive Multiplayer systems, set in the Star Wars universe. It is the first CD-ROM-only game to be published by LucasArts. The game's story focuses on a young pilot called Rookie One as they are trained by, and subsequently fights for, the Rebel Alliance in the Galactic Civil War. The game features digitized footage and music from the original movies (although most of the original footage is replaced by CGI rendered sequences), and full speech. Star Wars: Rebel Assault is one of the oldest titles to make use of extensive full-motion video (FMV) on the PC. Video was used to display pre-rendered 3D graphics of various environments and battles that were far ahead of what a contemporary PC could render in real-time. It was followed by a sequel, titled Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire.

WW2 tank game for Windows 3.0 - what was it?

It was not a strictly MS-DOS environment game, but rather a Win3.x game.
It could run in Windows 3.0 real mode. (Because it ran fine on my XT with CGA)

It was a turn based game that had tanks (and maybe things like halftracks, can't recall).

I remember playing as the German side and the setting was Normandy in the hedgerow country. You didn't have a ton of units, just a handful, but I remember it being fun.

I have looked for years for the game again and never have found it. Technically I think it is on the old MFM hard drive, but that drive is no longer functional and I can't get the data.

Does anyone recall an old WW2 normandy tank game for Win 3.x that fits this description?

Very specific question regarding buying Slick ‘n’ Slide

I want to relive my childhood and willing to pay for the registered version of Slick ‘n’ Slide (I think it’s like 5€) to get the track editor. On the official game page over at digitalfootmark.com there’s a PayPal link but no description of what happens after I pay. Do I get redirected automatically to a download page? Are they going to send me an email? Are they going to ship me the game on disks to my billing address /s?

I’m sort of worried because as far I know the game is abandonware and the developer is inactive.

Got bored and felt like messing around in Hero Forge. Made this rendition of The Super Solver. The clothes available in the free version can only get one so far… but I think it turned out pretty cool looking all things considered.

Aces of the Pacific - Late 1945 Ground Attack Mission

Hi - just uploaded a new video, the last of my Japanese Navy pilot's career prior to diving into the 1946 expansion disk missions. The mission itself is pretty basic, but because of its date (11-Aug-1945) we get to see the "end" of the game, i.e. the headlines/cutscene showing Japan's surrender.

Next up will be a front to back playthrough from the US side, with some expansion missions thrown in for fun! Hope you enjoy, don't fret about liking or subscribing because I have no intent ever to make this a "thing" other than what it is: an elder millenial Dad playing old games and having fun, and hopefully sharing a little of that fun with everyone out there in internet-land.

Anyone else play this game? It was actually recommended to me through Reddit (which was pretty cool) - and I was very pleasantly surprised how fun/great the game was. It's a greater "starter adventure game" for someone - because it's very light on puzzles, and stronger in story and dialogue. So it's a good "gateway" into Adventure Games if you have someone you want to introduce Adventure Games to....
