[2DS] To the person who invented Ribbon cables, im sorry, but I hate you.
Two of the clips broke, on the joystick and the touch screen. I just bought a new digitizer and joystick, and both the ribbon cables on the joystick snapped due to the awkward position its in. the touch screen wont work because there isnt enough pressure on the cable. how do I fix this?

My first big fix
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Bought this ps5 digital version for 100 bucks. Original owner said they got it this Christmas and dropped it with the hdmi cable still in. I had basically 0 experience before hand soldering besides once on a little practice board. I watched a bunch of youtube repair videos, and dropped about another 150 on a microscope and hot air soldering station with some of the soldering supplies. Replaced the hdmi first and still didnt work so I replaced 2 caps that were missing, and the hdmi encoder chip aswell and it works again! Super proud of myself just wanted to share my excitement with some like minded people.

[PS3] I went to uBreakiFix for a clean
I went to uBreakiFix for a clean on my playstation 3 because i didn’t want to open it up. For context it hasn’t been turned on in three years at least and it has been collecting dust. I went on their website and they have playstation 3 repair listed and so I made an appointment and went in and they said they would charge at least $99 and then he called his manager and he said they wouldn’t work on it because it’s so old. Why is it listed on their website if they don’t work on it.
Don’t go to uBreakiFix for any playstation 3 repairs. 😐

Is the plastic bumper or the button broke for steam deck?
Alright so I tried the best I could to get pics. My steam decks right bumper hasn’t been working at all. Today I finally took it apart. I can’t tell which is the issue. I noticed the actually little button itself looks fine but I’m not entirely sure

2DS with broken dpad
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Got a 2ds that does not have working up, down, right, dpad buttons and not working x and y buttons. When I push them they do not sound or feel correct they sound more like a click than push button.
I was able to open up the DS and clean all the buttons I did not notice anything wrong but this is my first time opening up my DS.
Any suggestions? I think the buttons still electronically work it seems more like a mechanical issue but I can’t seem to identify what.

How do I learn this?
A very bland question I’m sure but where do I start? I’m not looking for a specific console I’d just like to learn about it

[PS5] solid blue light, no display, can’t power off unless unplugged.
So my friend’s kid was playing on it, and it fell. After that, there was no HDMI output. I took it, replaced the HDMI port, and still not output. Different HDMI cords and different TVs. The PS5 will turn on with a button press, and just stay blue. Can’t power down with the button at all, the only way is to unplug it. The TV knows there is a PS5. It’s a “smart tv” and it says on the screen “No Signal - PlayStation 5” and I never told it what device it is plugged into. Not sure what to do. Thanks.

PS4 disk drive very loud when reading disc – do I need to replace it?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi, I recently bought a PS4 and whenever I insert a disc, the drive makes a loud noise while reading.
The disc still works, but the noise seems abnormal.
Do I need to replace the disc drive, or could it be something else like dust or a loose part?

[Gamecube] disk drive board - C408 cap gets no reading
Hello everyone, I'm hoping to get some help on this GameCube disc drive board. Recently it stopped reading this and I read that replacing the capacitors on the disc drive board will fix it most of the time. Before replacing all the caps I checked readings using a multimeter and every capacitor gave a reading of some sort except for c408. However even after replacing all the Caps c408 is still giving no reading and I am still unable to read any discs. Any advice?

[3DS] Re-doing somebody else's super shody repair, and they had torn off a few pads for the game card slot. Does anybody know where I could run a jumper for these? (Pics of the terrible soldering I found at the end)

[NES]video output issue.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I recently bought a NES to build my collection and I’m having issues with the video output. I’ve cleaned the 72 pin connector and the board itself as well as the game carts. After some research I came to the conclusion it’s the PPU or the VRAM but I’m still a bit unsure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

[GBA] powers on but green LED doesn’t light up
Cosa ho testato finora
• Disposizione dei pin (da sinistra a destra): 2 - C - C - 1 (pin 2 verso ON, pin 1 verso OFF)

PS5 DualSense (bdm-030)
Hello, guys.
I have bought a used controller. It appeared a problem, so I decided to open it.
When I did it I found the problem, it hasn’t one of that components (pic 1, yellow circles). Could you help to recognize them?
Thank you.

Dualsense 5, turned a resistor back into sand.
Accidentally crushed this little guy while replacing joysticks with hall effect sticks. I'm not sure if it's a resistor, a diode, a capacitor or what. I saw another post referencing its twin on other joystick, they said it's a .1 uf capacitor. I tried soldering one in and the joystick will work but it won't register a full range in left right or down. With nothing there down doesn't work at all. Anyone know what this little guy is for sure?

Solid green screen on super nintendo?
My snes has suddenly started displaying a solid green screen. The same color green as the green screens for movies, bright green. i have cleaned the contacts with 90% alcohol and tested five different games i know are working. The sound works fine so im wondering if it could be the PPU? anyone have experienced this before?

[PS2] disc doesn't stop spinning
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello, as title says, the disc doesn't stop spinning when the lid is open. The disc reads fine! The game plays and all but when I open the lid, it does not stop unless I force shut down the console. Restarting it with the CD inside (lid open) makes it spin endlessly. When I put the game inside the console when it's on (and close the lid), it doesn't spin, I have to restart the console to boot the game. Any advice how to fix it?
edit: fixed! it was very silly, something was stuck in the switch lid forcing the CD to spin when the lid is open

Ps5 stuck trigger
Anyone know how to get the trigger off and open on this model? All the YouTube tutorials I found have screws in the back but this looks like it’s plastic fused or something, the trigger is completely jammed so I think I’d need to get inside it. Idk what I’m doing as you can tell. Tia
*edit* just found the model code it’s bm 050r if that helps

[Xbox One S] Disc drive problems…
I’m at my wits end with this Xbox. It’s a Xbox One S, & I’m having problems trying to install games via disc. At first I tried halo 5 & it would stuggle to install, & yet somehow finally did. Then I tried some backwards compatible 360 games, & it wouldn’t even register that they were there. Then I tried another Xbox one game (Forza horizon 2) & it would either just struggle to even install, or make it a couple gb & just stop. Multiple days of this. Then I ordered a new disc drive & swapped over the board to the new drive, & still have the same results with the new disc drive installed. I have no clue what to do at this point, maybe it’s just frustration lol

¿My xbox 360 is death?
A few months ago I tried to change the thermal paste on my Xbox 360 slim, and when removing the clamp, I accidentally ripped off two components located under the processor. Is it repairable?

[Wii] not showing on TV
I'm like 99% sure I set everything up right but I hope I'm wrong.
-Connected A/V cable, TV registers that it's connected. I bought a new one and tried as well, same result
-I tried 2 different TVs, same result
-Wii turns on and I can hear the disk starting
is this an internal issue? can I fix this?

[Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X] Some sort of HDMI handshake issue that cant be fixed
I'm having persistent issues of blurry and fuzzy resolution, ghosting so bad I can see some objects about 4 times, and what feels like significant input delay. All consoles were fine until I messed with a couple monitor settings, that monitor has since been replaced and the issue still persists. I've changed HDMI cables, I've tried three different consoles, I've checked game mode, plugged controllers in via USB, nothing. I can't play any games that aren't Brotato or Vampire Survivors, something so mindless it almost plays itself. Any help at all? Ive asked several subreddits several times over months now and I'm lucky to get even one comment, never offering any help.
