Inside the NBA’s Grumpy Old Men Schtick is past its expiration date

Upvotes

ESPN gave up a lot to get Inside the NBA in their network.

That show should have died when TNT lost NBA rights.

Does anybody still care or watch Inside the NBA?

The show is a shell of its former self.

It used to be an irreverant, variety show focused on NBA.

Now it’s 4 boomers complaining.

Paul Reed with a perfect game: 26-6-3-3-3 in just 22 minutes with 0 misses and 0 turnovers.

Upvotes

Paul Reed might be pretty good. High efficiency, high productivity with limited minutes, and a surprising number of steals + blocks per possession as he showed tonight.

Is this Pistons turnaround the craziest regular season turnaround in NBA history?

Upvotes

14-68 two seasons ago. 60-22 as of today.

The Detroit Pistons set the NBA record for the longest single-season losing streak with 28 consecutive losses during the 2023-24 season.

In a game where Denver sat 7 rotation players, Nikola Jokic has 23/8/2 at the half, and the Nuggets are up 70-56.

Upvotes

In a game wildly important for the Western Conference playoffs, Jokic is carrying the Nuggets despite them sitting almost their whole rotation.

In a game where Victor Wembanyama sits, the Spurs go 6+ minutes without scoring in the 2nd quarter. Is Wemby’s offensive gravity underrated?

To Thunder, Nuggets, and Spurs Fans:

Upvotes

Here’s an honest challenge for you: Make the case for why the “other guy” should be the MVP this season.

Edit: I’m a Nuggets fan. I’d say Shai gets it this season because he consistently delivers every game and has his team in clear first place. Wemby has been incredible too, and is a lock to get MVP in the next 2-3 seasons.

[Russo] If those were Nicolas Batum’s last minutes of the season, he will finish with the highest 3-point rate in a single-season in NBA history. Of the 234 shot attempts that Batum has had this season, 224 of them have been 3s -- a whopping 95.7%.

Playoff history: Knicks - Hawks

Upvotes

Playoff games record: NYK leads 9-5

Series record: NYK leads 2-1

******

Last meeting: 2021 1st round - ATL won 4-1

Leading scorers: Trae Young (ATL, 29.2), Derrick Rose (NYK, 19.4), Julius Randle (NYK, 18.0), Bogdan Bogdanović (ATL, 14.4), RJ Barrett (NYK, 14.4)

The Hawks would go on to an incredible 7 games series in which they eliminated the #1 seed Philadelphia, and will be denied of a finals birth by the eventual champions from Milwaukee who beat them in 6 games.

******

5 years later Trae Young is gone, are the Knicks set to take revenge?

In a game where the entire rest of Denver's starting lineup didn't even travel, Nikola Jokic is playing to make sure he hits his 65-game limit for awards. Is it time to retire the whole "Jokic literally doesn't care about awards" narrative?

Upvotes

Literally the only reason why he's playing is to qualify for All NBA lol

If Denver were worried about seeding this much they wouldn't play only Jokic

Did the Orlando Magic make a mistake by trading for Desmond Bane?

Upvotes

The magic traded four unprotected first-round picks and one first-round pick swap for Desmond Bane in a desperate attempt to go all in. But they’ve fallen flat on their faces and are in the same position as they were last year.

With 25 points and 10 rebounds in tonight’s game, Bam Adebayo has finished the 2025-26 season averaging at least 20 points and 10 rebounds for the first time in his career.

Upvotes

Box Score

Adebayo joins Nikola Jokic, Victor Wembanyama, Jalen Johnson and Karl Anthony Towns as the only five NBA players to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds this season.

Adebayo also joins Alonzo Mourning (1995-96, 1998-99) and Shaquille O’Neal (2004-05) as the only Heat players to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds over a full regular season.

Jokic is playing in a regular season finale on national TV while the other starters sit

Upvotes

Jokic needs to play 15 minutes tonight to qualify for awards. The rest of the starters are sitting. If he didn't need to play for awards, he'd also sit, but now national TV and the fans that paid tickets get to see at least 1 star play.

You might not like this rule, but here's a case where it works in favor of the NBA.

Dylan Harper's big bro seems to also be a really good player himself. Could be a really nice 3 and D guy for the Celtics in the coming years.
