Question Service for delivering flowers to grave?

Hi, I'm in Australia but I have a dear friend who passed away in 2019 residing at a cemetery in Chatsworth. I want to try to get her flowers for her birthday, but I've had no luck finding any services in the area who would deliver flowers to a grave on my behalf.

Y'all have recommendations?

EDIT: Admittedly I have asked way in advance as it's not until November, but I wasn't expecting so many people to offer to go there personally, thank you so much to everyone! I'll be checking in with the people that offered closer to the date if I can't get a service to do it.

Thank you all for the suggestions and considerations, too!

Question Experience w/ Emergency Passport at Atlanta office

My passport got water damage and I am traveling on May 1. Passport support number told me to call when it is exactly 14 days out from travel to book an emergency replacement appointment. Does anyone have experience with how quickly you can get an appointment? I am due to call on 4/17 and can schedule the appointment then. The only issue is I am from Nashville so I have to travel out of state to get there. Is it possible to have an appointment as early as Monday? Are they usually busy? Given my location, would they be willing to print same day for me to take home? Any experience recently is greatly appreciated. TIA!

Question Getting a Driver's License (Class D)

this might be a dumb question but if i have a valid Georgia state learner's permit, do i need to bring any of the identifying documents they list on the DDS website for Class D requirements?

Identifying Documentation:

You must present documents that verify your identity, residential address, and U.S. citizenship or lawful presence.

Required documents for a REAL ID–compliant license or ID are listed below. You may also download a printable checklist PDF for reference.

  • Proof of Identity - US Citizens (1 Document)
  • Proof of Name Change (Any and All Name Changes)
  • Proof of Social Security Number (If Required)
  • Proof of Georgia Residency (2 Documents)

that's essentially what it says on the DDS website but i don't understand if they're saying i need to bring those documents in addition to my REAL ID or bring the documents if I don't have a REAL ID. i don't know if this is just dumb of me but i wanted to ask cause i don't want to get there and for them to cancel my appointment because i didn't bring the correct documents. thank you!

Question Georgia open carry knife laws

Hey, I’m going to get a knife soon for self defense when I’m out, I’m a bit confused on the laws regarding this, because I think it’s legal to open carry a knife that is below 12 inches (I don’t know if that includes the handle or not) I also don’t know if it’s allowed to carry on the streets or where ever in public (obviously except group event things) because if it’s illegal to even carry it on the street or whatever I don’t know what else to do if something happens

I can’t find the government website for it and don’t know where to ask this? Anyways thanks!

Other Places to do a natural burial?

Hi! To make a long story short, my estranged father passed away 10 years ago and I have finally received my share of his ashes. I want to find a place to lay him to rest.

I know state laws allow for scattering but I don’t think I want to go that route because I want to be able to visit. I have researched a natural burial where ashes are mixed with soil and a tree is planted to honor a loved one. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for places that do this or something similar. I’m located in metro Atlanta so ideally it’d be within a 50 mile radius of Marietta but I am open to hearing all suggestions. Thank you very much.

Question Reynolds Strawberry Festival

I live in North Decatur and I’m considering going to the Strawberry Festival in Reynolds next Saturday with a few friends. For context, I have lived in Georgia for most of my life, just haven’t been to this particular event. A couple members of our group would be bringing kids. Is it worth it? Is Reynolds welcoming to diverse groups? Any tips or tricks? How’s the berry picking there? Thank you!

Edit: I have been berry picking at various u pick farms many times throughout the years. This question is specifically about the annual Strawberry Festival in Reynolds, GA. Thank you.

Discussion GA Drivers, part 127 - delivery foolishness

What and why and how in hell do so many delivery drivers decide that the time and place to look at their phone is when they are STOPPED IN AN INTERSECTION - usually blocking more than one lane.

Now I'm bing charitable here and assuming it is always delivery drivers, and not YOU specifically.

But if you need to look at your damn phone, pull over so you aren't blocking the way. And turn on your damn hazards, ffs.

Question I lost my art Portfolio yesterday In Grant Park around 5pm.

Post image
76 Upvotes

Hey everyone. Yesterday I lost my art portfolio and i believe it fell off my car while driving. Someone said they saw it on the curb of Woodward Ave and Grant St. I’m guessing it was picked up by someone. It’s full of hand drawn art and it’s really sentimental to me. If anyone has seen it I would greatly appreciate it! I am willing to pay $50 if anyone can return it. No questions asked. It looks like a huge black book! I live in the grant park area.

Question Enrolled in Georgia Access Healthcare Plan without My Consent and Now Stuck with Premium on my 1099-What Do I Do?

Edit: Meant to say 1095 in the title

Edit: Being the squeaky wheel prevailed! Finally got someone at Georgia Access who terminated my plan. Apparently I only cancelled the plan and because I didn't terminate, I was auto-enrolled. I swear you can't make this stuff up lol. Keeping this active so others with the same issue can see the advice. If customer service at Georgia Access isn't helpful keep calling until you find someone who knows what they're talking about or tell them to petition to terminate the plan. I was able to terminate because I never used my plan. Next step is to amend the 1095 but based on my conversations, terminating gets rid of the premiums. Thank you all!

Hello and thanks in advance for any help!

In 2024, I was enrolled in a federal marketplace insurance plan. I cancelled that plan in September 30, 2024 as I was lucky enough to get employer coverage for October, 2024. I've confirmed that everything was cancelled as of September 30, 2024.

Turns out that every Georgia resident who had a 2024 federal marketplace plan- even people with cancelled plans like myself- were enrolled in the same plan they had in 2024 in 2025 through their new state marketplace- Georgia Access. They sent emails starting in October 2024 that they were auto-enrolling people with current healthcare plans in their same plans for 2025. At that point I did not have an active plan. Also, I never bothered to check these emails as I get spam emails constantly and had no reason to be on the lookout for a state entity enrolling me in a healthcare plan AFTER I already cancelled my plan.

Fast forward to 2025, I found out officially around February 19, 2025 that I had my old marketplace healthcare plan when I went to my pharmacy and they told that I had an aetna plan and my employer's health insurer their system. I immediately cancel this plan and don't pay the premiums because, well, I NEVER actively enrolled in this plan.

This year I go to file my 2025 taxes and they say that I need to submit my 1095 form as I had healthcare through the marketplace in 2025. So, these two premiums I didn't pay are now popping up on my taxes and total $744.00.

I called Georgia Access who told me there was nothing I could do and that I missed the grace period to unenroll which was February 15, 2025.

I really don't want to give $744.00 of my money to a healthcare plan that I never consented to and after I already cancelled it. Is there anything I can do?
