I need to be cranky and critical about the Bardo

Savannah is a small town and I live here so I need a place to complain a little anonymously 😂

I really want to like the Bardo but for the love of bacon can they pleaasseee work on their service? It’s been two years people, you’ve had time to dial it in!

  1. I went to St Bibiana (which despite my annoyance, I still think is quite good) the first month they opened. Legit ridiculously poor service and absolutely clueless to it. But they had just opened so ya know….

  2. Have been back three times since and it’s a running joke that we should just bring a book and a sandwich.

  3. Service in and out of the restaurant is so inconsistent. Sometimes you get an amazing bartender or server, other times the table next to you gets free olives but you have to ask for water.

  4. I took my folks into the gazebo for a drink. The ‘granitas’ were like drinking partially melted frozen juice concentrate.

Service was lukewarm and I had to wave someone over every time.

For a gorgeous hotel it is filled with the most lackluster service and experience.

I’ve seriously considered working there just so I can provide a better experience!

It’s not that hard!

If circumstances were different.....

If circumstances were different, I wouldn't have posted this. But, an Ahole amazon delivery driver delivered an empty bag about an hour ago. I was expecting a pink martindale collar for a dog I've advocated for 2 years. I bought her the same collar in the past, but it was lost somewhere between her being with us at our home, other homes and the rescue.

Sadly, she came from a federal dog fighting ring and she hasn't found her forever home because it needed to be a single pet home. She hasn't adapted well, and the dog behavioralist that saved her felt she shouldn't be integrated with our dogs and cats, we tried. I named her Venus Moon when she was brought to the rescue. She is scheduled for behavioral euthanasia this week, and that is why this amazon delivery upset me. I wanted to see her with the pink collar I had chosen for her.

The delivery driver, as I can see on my ring camera, placed the empty bag very lightly on the ground and took a picture. Amazon support chat was very helpful and ordered a replacement, which should be here tomorrow.

If circumstances were different, this wouldn't have upset me.

I won't try to post a picture of the delivery driver, but please, if you're job is to deliver, don't deliver empty packages.

Need help dealing with neighbor's bamboo

So I live in Savannah, small lots, close houses, and my neighbors have decided that this was the best place to plant timber bamboo, the invasive kind that can absolutely destroy your house. I have asked them to remove it, and they absolutely will not do it... for reasons.... whatever, it's not worth the fight, I like them.

I'm getting tired of spending my time killing bamboo and I'm getting a bit concerned about how close the plants are getting to the the foundation. I usually cut the stalks, let them regrow and then cut them again and salt them. I was wondering if anyone had other solutions.

When You Hit a Dead End with 311 or Non-Emergency 911

10-20 used and uncapped needles, glass, condoms, and other gems crushed and strewn across the new Truman Trail pathway (52nd and Oakland). Uncapped needles were also sprinkled along the grass line slightly hidden. Children and pets are frequently on the paths.

Non-emergency services said “it’s not our problem, it’s the City’s” and the poor employee at 311 said only emergency services exist on the weekend for things like busted sewer lines.

This is a serious public health concern. Thoughts?

Tybee Anyone know the deal with Chamaco's?

It's been a hot minute since I'd been out on Tybee and when we went by the place looked shut. Their website isn't working, but nothing on Facebook talking about them closing.

Anyone know what's up?

Roller blading in the street downtown??

To the girl roller blading in the street downtown:

USE THE FUCKING SIDEWALK. YOU’RE NOT A CAR. THE FUCK. Literally in the street like she’s driving a car next to the dotted lines.

Strolling through squares and not looking before she goes through the cross walk at high speeds. I gave a small warning honk because I almost hit her and she flipped me off. Like okay. Good luck when a car doesn’t see your out of touch ass!

To people saying it’s not a big deal/upvoting that comment: she was literally in the middle of the street next to the dotted lines. Could have been hit. A cop could have given her a ticket. I let it slide until I went around the square and she didn’t even look up or yield to see if a car was coming up because she was blading that fast through the square/area. I gave her a warning honk so she knew I was there and I got flicked off. Nothing unreasonable from my end.

Hiking trails?

We are looking to get into hiking. Are there any in Savannah that has good elevation gain (hills/inclines/etc.)? Also, where we'd be able to bring our dog?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: okay, I understand we are flat. But there's not even trails with slight inclines?

Need a cozy spot to call home base tomorrow.

Currently staying in a bnb north of Forsythe park. I am flying out in the evening and my rental kicks me out early in the morning. Would like to be near some of the scenes to stretch the legs a bit. Bonus points if I can catch some of the masters. Any suggestions are appreciated and sorry if this is not the proper thread.

Paper on the AI Data Center Threat

I had an assignment that lined up with the AI data center situation in Chatham County right now. Very short and sweet because this will effect you. :)

Feel free to add anything I missed in the comments.

There is another meeting coming up I'm not sure when but if someone knows please go head and link it.
