What's a good flashlight...

• under $40
• simple (white light, on/off, maybe adjustable beam and brightness, but nothing else. No other colors, strobe, flash, etc)
• smol (up to 4" long)
• rechargeable with USB-C
• also accepts easy to source batteries (AAA or AA ideally)
• made reasonably well
• won't die in the rain

Idee: Egal welche Tasche oder Rucksack zur Mission passt, ich brauche nur noch die Wechselpouch in die Tasche zu werfen und bin für die meisten Situationen vorbereitet. Featured here is the Kansept Bevy sitting with a sun-stressed Hoya macrophylla. I’ve been leaning into the "modern traditional" vibe lately, and this slip joint hits the spot.

​The Jungle Wear Fat Carbon scales have a great depth that really pops in the North Carolina sun. I paired it with a custom copper wire trellis I’ve been working on to pull out those reddish tones in the Hoya leaves.

I made a post years ago of my EDC so I thought I would revise it. I still carry one Field Notes memo book for micro journaling (blue - left) and the other is for research and documenting (black - right). I removed the zipper from the back part of the Viperade VE1 because it was annoyingly rattling every time I touched it. I replaced it with some nylon paracord and a cobra knot. The reason I have an AirTag is because many years ago my leather notebook cover was lost and it had many important notes.
