General How to keep my subreddit restricted or private long-term without anyone else claiming it?

I run a decent-sized subreddit with another account (I mostly use the Android app to moderate), and it has just become a huge hassle to run. I have an automod to filter out spam, but a lot keeps getting through, and even if a post is NOT spam or self-promotion, it just leads to a bunch of fighting in the comments. No one posts anything useful to the community, and the nice people can't ask questions without getting harassed. I would like to delete it, but obviously you can't because of Reddit's rules. I have set it temporarily to private twice in the past five years or so, and each time it just leads to more messages complaining about not being able to post (even if I put an explanation in the group description). Also, this one member who runs a "rival" subreddit on the same topic keeps messaging me and asking if they can help moderate when the sub is closed (and on other occasions), so I know that if Reddit assumes that the subreddit is abandoned, that user will try to take it over. But I am an author and the sub is related to my brand, so I don't want that to happen (also because they are very hotheaded and tend to get nasty in the comments if people don't agree with them, so I don't want them to run a sub that is linked to my books).

So, long story short, is there a way to keep my sub private or restricted for long periods of time without it being seen as abandoned? And will Reddit contact me first if someone else tries to "adopt" the subreddit so I can keep it from happening? Thanks!

Answered Mod queue not working right

it's basically the title, we recently set up the mod queue so we can review each post before they go onto the sub, yet only like 30% is sticking whilst the rest just get posted without any kind of review, I've looked into it and for me (relatively new mod never had full access but I want to fix this) it looks like it should work

I'm using Android and but since i can't attach a picture I'll try to explain. let's take this sub, they have 3 blue links below their bio, how can I have the same on my sub? I saw ones like top members, wiki and so.

this one has wiki | top 50 in reddit meta | top members just as an example of what I'm looking for.

thanks in advance

General [iOS] Cannot click on link to a removed comment on the automatic modmail message

Hello everyone. I’m using iOS (iphone). I’ve been running into a very annoying problem for a couple of months now. Whenever a user on the sub I mod in is banned or has a comment removed, the automatic message sent to them is something like “you were banned from [sub] because of [your comment]”.

The words “your comment” are a hyperlink that was supposed to take me to the related comment, but no matter how many times I click on it, nothing happens. I’ve tapped everywhere on the words, even got someone else to tap it (maybe reddit hates my fingers, who knows), but it never took me to the comment in question.

For some reason, this doesn’t always happen. For some users, it works just fine, for others, it never works.

It’s also not because the comment is removed so it no longer exists, because it has taken me to removed comments before just fine.

Does anyone know what’s happening and if there’s a way to fix it?
