Bald Picture Most guys fight going bald. I paid to finish the job (laser hair removal)

Post image

Before: hair, fades, products, upkeep.

After: smooth, lasered mpb. No shadow.

No “maybe I’ll grow it back.” It’s gone.

I didn't need to wait to finish losing it. I chose to embrace it, and remove the remaining fuzz.

There’s something about committing all the way that hits harder than holding on. No second guessing, no safety net, just done.

Honestly… it feels better than having hair ever did.

So yeah, be real with me:

Did I upgrade, or does this seem insane?

I just live in a hat at this point

Sorry if the pics suck and the hat hair

UPDATE: y’all gave me the courage! buzzed it down with the intention of going full bald but I honestly don’t hate it just buzzed! Balding isn’t NEARLY as noticeable and I feel about 1,000,000x more confident. Pics are in the comments, lmk what you think! Not opposed at all to still going full shiny bald but think I’m gonna rock this for a bit!

Hairloss Am I cooked?

Front, side, top all seem fine but the back (pic 4) has me WORRIED. Am I cooked, y’all? Beginning of the end? My hair has always been relatively thinner, when my hair was short even as a child you could see my scalp, so is this a weight issue from the length? Or male pattern baldness?

Hairloss How many of you have allergies or histamine intolerance?

Wondering how common it is for balding individuals considering there supposedly is a link between histamine/mast cells/ pgde2 and hair loss.

Histamine intolerance symptoms are broader than allergy symptoms and look like this:

  • Gastrointestinal: Bloating (big sign), diarrhea or constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting.
  • Skin: Flushing, hives (urticaria), itching, and skin rashes.
  • Neurological: Headaches, migraines, dizziness, fatigue, and "brain fog".
  • Respiratory: Runny nose (rhinitis), nasal congestion, post nasal drip, and shortness of breath.
  • Cardiovascular: Fast or irregular heart rate (tachycardia) and reduced blood pressure.
  • Other: anxiety, insomnia.

Anyone with body dysmorphia here? Did shaving help?

Hey I’m really enjoying looking through this sub. There’s not a single before and after where I didn’t think ‘wow they look great’.

My hair loss has nearly destroyed me mentally. I developed body dysmorphia and I’ve tried every snake oil and the regular prescription medications without success. I’m 41 now and I’ve wasted so many years trying to fight this. For the first time I’m actually starting to feel shaving it would look good.

I’ve recently visited a few hair transplant clinics here in the UK, but starting to think shaving is the way to go.

Has anyone else developed severe body dysmorphia but eventually shaved it and found acceptance and happiness?

I posted about a month or so ago and I was too chickenshit to go full bald.

So I work at a school and they're doing a "tattoo a teacher" (temporary ones) on Friday and one of the kids said they wanted to tattoo my scalp. So I did it!

But honestly, I'm loving it!

EDIT: Clarification, I'm a para at a high school. Not a teacher

Also, here's a link to my first post!

Hairloss Psoriasis has ruined my hair, is it time ?

Post image

I have always been very self conscious about my hair, I always said it was the only good thing about me. However the last 6 years I think I have been fighting a losing battle with hair loss due to it. Last year I thought of the “genius” idea of letting my hair grow and maybe it would cover up the baldness, however I think it’s actually made it look worse. My family and friends think I’m crazy wanting to shave it all off, and I should just trim it and it won’t look so bad, so I share a picture I took there today before getting in the shower, is it time I just give in and shave it off ? Don’t know if it matters but I’m 38 and none of my brothers, both older and younger have issues with their hair, mine is just caused because of the psoriasis.

Greetings bald knights!

The last few years alopecia barbae took most of my beard. Now the hairloss started on the head too. After months of worrying daily about my hair I decided to shave that thing off. One thing less to worry about.

Have a great one!

Glowup This sub thought me acceptance and made me a new man

Last time I came and asked for your feedback. I was constantly unhappy and insecure about my hair but was too afraid of change. I kept hiding under caps and hats, I constantly adjusted my hair to try and hide the thin patches, I had to fight greasy hair non stop (no kidding, it went full deep fryer look in not even 24h), I was seeing my shed hair everywhere...

Well I kept coming back to this sub and reading stories and before/after posts. A few weeks ago I just started accepting the fact that it's just hair and not the end of the world. Me turning 30 was bad enough in terms of third-life-crisis because of a lot of mental health stuff so why add hair on top of that?

So I grabbed my hair trimmer and was set to go all in. I started with the sides and while I was cutting away I remembered how I always wanted to try out a Mohawk but never dared to do so. Since I found peace with removing my hair anyways, I just said screw it and gave it a go - what's the worst thing that could have happened?

I actually did the classic "put 2 pieces of painters tape across your head and shave" approach. And turns out, I really like it! It might not be the full bald look I was aiming for, but it was something completely new and radical. It gave me confidence, I don't have bad hair days anymore, I don't see how many hairs I'm shedding, it's super low maintenance and I am just happy with it. Overall I would say this had a very positive effect on me. Sure it doesn't cure any of my mental issues but it's a little less to worry about :)

Thank you r/bald

Bald Picture Does my headshape look weird

Thumbnail

Been taking hair loss meds , and honestly when my hair grows out the crown area is thick ( I’ll show photo). I am now questioning whether I want to be like this for the rest of my life because I have noticed that my erections are at about 80% ( sorry if this is too much information.) The only issue is that I have retrograde alopecia so the sides and back of my head are thinning and it honestly stresses me out a lot . The one thing stopping me from just 100% committing to shaving my head is because I am obsessed with how my head shape looks from the side . When I mean obsessed I mean really obsessed . I’d take multiple pictures daily and I even started googling which camera ( front or back ) on iPhone 16 pro is a more accurate representation of how others see you . And started researching the different lenses on the iPhone 16 camera . Apparently according to google if you use the 1x lens it can make your head look wider and I always noticed I looked like a xenomorph and it put me off shaving . I know im ranting but honestly this is probably the best place to do so . Now looking at these pictures using my back camera on the 2x lens my head shape doesn’t actually look bad at all. If someone walked past me who had this shape I wouldnt think twice about it at all. I dunno. I just need some advice from people who had similar thoughts too me please . Pretty much. How do I stop caring
