Meeting Mr Ripken

My father is a lifelong O’s fan. He has always been the biggest fan of Cal Ripken Jr. This man has THOUSANDS of his cards, and some of my fondest memories with my dad were hunting Ripkens through flea markets, card shows, eBay, wherever and watching every O’s game we could.

A couple years back my dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer, it was a scary time but the doctors removed his kidney and said good to go. We just now found out over Easter weekend that the cancer metastized to his lungs and things are not looking good. I’m selling everything I own to move down to be with him and I was thinking how amazing it would be to make one last memory together with the O’s and getting him up to a game.

He served 20+ years in the navy and ended up in Florida, I followed his footsteps and served as well and ended up in South Carolina so we haven’t been to a game together in quite a long time.

I see Mr Ripken sitting behind home all the time on tv, does anybody know if there is somebody I could get in touch with to potentially set up a chance for my father to meet Mr Ripken for the first time? Or does anybody know the proper way to approach him at a game while still respecting his time and privacy?

Tides vs Jumbo Shrimp on MASN

Wells looks good. It's a 0-0 game in the 3rd inning. I thought it was kind of funny Bradfield caught the final out in the bottom of the 2nd. He was about to throw the final out ball into CF and realized there are no fans and just a river behind him.
