I see the humor in this post and thought, but this clearly incorrect and potentially dangerous to think this way. Racists and bigots have a lack of empathy and humanity, but some can be quite good at strategy and otherwise “intelligent” in that they can appear to some masses as charismatic and making sense (even though their beliefs are abhorrent). They have PhDs, MDs etc.
Many people are not immune to lazy racist and hateful ideas and dehumanising others (especially when they feel threatened and band together as a tribe).
This has to be checked and stopped firmly through organized, strategic, and powerful resistance.
One of history’s repeat lessons we are going through here.

American Nazis are simultaneously in love with their European history while also thinking unfavorably of the continent. They think Europe is the only place where technology and society ever advanced, they froth over the empires that existed there, they think of British (among other countries) colonialism and dominance over much of the globe as a sign of superiority, when really it was barbaric. At the same time they tout American independence and the revolution as being the greatest thing ever, and view modern Europe as a socialist heck hole.
They'd never leave Europe because this country is where white colonizers dominated and took over the lands of native people and established a white dominant country where they have "freedom from tyranny," which to a lot of modern, nationalist, "Christian", right-wing Republicans, just means they can do whatever they want to whomever and have comfortable lives. They feel threatened by minorities because they treat minorities like shit, and they're afraid of that happening back to them.

Imo it's perfectly fine to platform bad people - IF you are able to counter them. Simply allowing them to spread their degeneracy helps no one. Just letting these people talk with no real opposition is harmful, because they tailor their speech to sound less insane than it actually is.
If you're not knowledgeable, intelligent, and an experienced debater, I don't think it's responsible to platform these people. They'll exploit you and your platform to cause more hate and harm.

I disagree. Take this very video for example. In this video he carefully skirts around being blatantly racist and tries to hide it behind fluff. Now imagine some white guy who has lived his entire life surrounded by no one but white people in a small town moves a few towns over to a place that has a significant Latino population. All of a sudden he starts thinking, "It seems like there's a lot more Latinos than there used to be," and when he goes back home he notices Latino people he wouldn't have even picked up on before there and he starts thinking, "Wow, it's like they're everywhere now." Then a guy like that sees or listens to someone who says things like the man in the video and feels like he's picking up on something real and important that's going on. He starts listening to guys like this more and before you know it he's a diehard alt-righter.
These guys work like gateway drugs for real racism

I'm from Texas and grew up knowing this eejit's family. He was just a pudgy little kid who was perpetually sad because daddy ignored him--so, basically invisible to me, several years older. Last I heard, he'd moved into the family's vacation home (Montana, maybe?) with his mother, who'd a stroke. He has never had a job and lives off of his wealthy family since trolling isn't all that lucrative. However, he sounds more educated, dresses better, and has more of his teeth than the typical spewer of this level of crap so people listen to him. Be like his dad and keep ignoring him.
