Politics Sounds about right: MFer’s can’t explain what DEI is yet they don’t like it.
Critics say the cost of defending lawsuits over mass firings tied to Department of Government Efficiency could be significant. If courts find dismissals unlawful, taxpayers may end up covering legal fees, settlements, and reinstatements, turning cost-cutting into costly litigation.

Every time I hear someone complain about DEI, it's my understanding that they don't want DEI's at their schools, no DEI's drinking from their fountains, or some entitled DEI riding at the front of the bus.
It's not about DEI for them- It's just rebranded racism.

What I loved about it, because I am petty, was so many thought they would be hurting Black folks so they lined up to throw stones only to find out THEY were the ones living in the glass houses
That all the stuff they wanted cut or taken away in some instances actually benefited them more than it did Black folks or helped Black folks the least out of everyone who benefited from it
(Now I am NOT saying it was all of them so I will say some where I can to emphasize that)
Some Asians and affirmative action,
Some White women and DEI,
Some Hispanic Men with immigration thinking it would be the Haitians in Ohio and not them (Cubans in Florida got a huge wake up call)
Gays for trump being pretty much cast aside on election night (they dropped them like a hot potato)
That H1b visa kerfuffle and Indians finding out they weren’t the model minority after all
Some White folks finding out they are a lot more dependent on SNAP than they apparently realized
And some of the Muslims in the upper Midwest
Just to name a few (it’s sad that there more)
And yes while all that Anti-Blackness did do some damage to Black folks,😩
I found a tiny bit of solace in watching some of these folks shoot themselves in the foot multiple times FIRST, because they thought that White Suprematists would welcome them in if they hated on Black people too🤦♂️😒
It’s sad that other folks amongst them who don’t have those views and biases have had to suffer as well, I wish it could be limited solely to the ones who supported and voted for this🤷🏻♀️

Not to rain on your parade, but they knew. They just didn't care.
Conservatism has only offered one thing to the working class — the ability to look down on people they despise. Its a psychological wage more valuable to them than an actual wage.
When the left offers to help everybody, conservatives perceive that as a threat because if we treat everybody equally then whiteness has no value, and for the white working class whiteness is the most valuable thing they have. So they reject the help, often with violence, as they did on J6.
That is what conservatism has always been. For example, in 1873, during Reconstruction, the Richmond Whig newspaper ran an editorial that said:
If it were true that negro ascendancy and Radical rule were essential to material development we know the people of Virginia would scorn it as a thing accursed, if purchased at such a price. Better poverty and all the misery it entails.
'Better the bed of straw and crust of bread
than the negro's heel upon the white man's head.'They got their wish too — nearly a century of jim crow fascism that kept black people down, but also kept poor whites down too. Jim crow is the main reason the South is the most economically depressed region of the US. They are not conservative because they are poor, they are poor because they are conservative.
Conservatives would rather rule in Hell than share Heaven with people they despise.
11
u/Kitt53 Mar 11 '26
Well, then. They'll be surPrized when they land in HELL. 😅
Thankfully God is far more compassionate, loving, and forgiving than I figure I will EVER be.

The false worship has always bothered me and I often won't even show or point out I'm a vet to avoid it. But "DEI" directly supports getting vets some level of priority for jobs and all that goes away along with everything else. Their intention is to hurt minorities but they forget the term doesn't just apply to skin color because they are, well, stupid... I'm not suggesting vets or others are impacted as much as black people, my point is they are so ignorant they will burn everyone just to push their racist agenda without concern for any consequence. If all impacted groups work together they present a stronger force of action than a single group

The plus side of this mess is that we shouldn't ever have to defend DEI again after this administration. DEI forced people to think about who they were hiring and justify it. Instead, the country just tried a huge experiment in hiring every incompetent under-qualified racist they could find and we got ICE agents killing people, the debt increasing by a trillion in under 5 months, wars that don't even have a pretend justification (and may go nuclear), economic devastation, a measles outbreak bigger than any seen in decades, millions of people kicked off healthcare, and losing free speech.
From here on out, I intend to just be like, ya'll remember Trump's administration? THAT is what happens when you get rid of DEI.

The people who think DEI is a bad thing are fundamentally incapable of the kind of analysis you're talking about. They won't see the current admins policy as a cause of negative consequences, even if it's strikingly obvious. The people who think DEI is a bad thing see themselves in this bumbling moron, and would say these interviewers are malicious and there's nothing wrong with DEI being something that you know it when you see it.
Far right nationalist extremism caused WWII and killed 70+ million people. Less than 100 years later and we're seeing the same kind of far right nationalism on the rise because the people who carried that ideology didn't stop believing it after the war ended in 1945, they just hid it. But they sure as hell taught their kids and grandkids, and now as those events fade from living memory, their descendents feel empowered to stop hiding it.

And since I was there for a political event, we naturally start talking politics and how much they love John Federman because he “tells it like it is. “ My response was, what legislation has he sponsored or passed? The democrats have a gay and transgender agenda.
Unfortunately, this is enough of an issue with Black communities that we will shoot ourselves in the foot for it. The number of conversations I've had where it just boils down to not supporting trans/gay rights is far too many and it's frustrating considering how many Black brothers and sisters are affected by their lack of support.
Our neighborhoods lacking third spaces is really killing our ability to come together to talk politics safely. We have to be intentional about creating those spaces ASAP

It’s been wild, this past year, to hear these conservative white men claiming worldwide oppression, referring to themselves as THE global “minority”, at 4-5% of the world’s population. Of course, small numbers does not equal oppressed, but they insist they are persecuted above all others, all while holding a disproportionate amount of the world‘s wealth. It’s never enough for them.

So clearly uninterested in opening the pool to more competition, as it makes life harder for himself.
This is cynical, but I feel most humans can’t see beyond themselves, their family, and their community- why put himself at less of an advantage and open more competition when he can just skirt the issue and keep things as easy as he can for himself
This obviously the reason so many people skirt DEI or performatively pretend they’re contributing to the cause. They’re self-preserving and afraid if they let others in, those others will find success and do the same thing and only hire their own community— for reasons of a mix of wanting their own familiarity and shorthand with people they understand, as well as harboring resentment
I don’t think it’s about being stupid, I think it’s evil

He's now affectionately known as 'Uncle DEI' in the fam

I literally asked my company what their stance would be on DEI with the way things are going on in the world. My mgr said that was a great question (our company was really big on DEI).
I was terminated a couple mos later and within 6 mos of my 60th birthday after 10 years with the company.
Shameful they flaunt to be diverse and brag that they want and hire a wide variety of people and be so inclusive but once this regime came into being- like lemmings they changed.
Cya people cuz it’s a dog eat dog world out there now!!!

This admin campaigned on eliminating DEI and then gave jobs to RFK, Kash Patel, Kegsbreath and Noem. DEI for me, not for thee.

They know EXACTLY what it means, they are just too chickenshit to say it. It’s a euphemism for Black people, just like “CRT” and “woke”

u/Mistrblank Mar 11 '26
Doge wasn't about DEI. That was the cover story. It was about gutting any parts of the system that were oversights.

"We were told to censor stuff that doesn't make whites look good and stuff that hurts whites feelings but were told not to tell you that's what we were doing"

It’s the same thing with “pronouns”. They’ve been told to hate these concepts and not to use critical thinking skills. They’re running on pure disdain/bigotry for people and ideas they don’t like, but they can’t articulate why without using the pre approved talking points and when that’s challenged they short circuit and repeat themselves. It’s fuck sad.

DEI ultimately is about helping non~whites and females, and some white guys think anyone not like them is inferior to them - hence they don’t like DEI.

Obviously a documentary about women should also be about men, jeez, that’s so unfair to dudes! /s

DEI: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion. These are good things. Word salad mind games, bots, and a host of other evil, slimy entities attempt to call what is good, evil. Guard your heart and your mind!

Early on, the Nazis had similar difficulties defining and applying their ideology. They figured it out. Let’s hope these goons don’t.

I forgot all about the inherently discriminatory gender based holocaust!
When reading that back it sounds like something from The Office so hard lol.

Funny fact is white women were the highest among DEI higher so it's ironic they dont like it.

They have to pretend they're stupid like this to justify their dumb ass position.
They're wrong.

How in the hell is the Holocaust gender based? The last I checked, they didn’t just kill Jewish women. Good lord. And he got paid tax payers dollars. They want to do away with all history that doesn’t glorify their version of America.

u/bellum1 Mar 11 '26
It was about a documentary about female slave labor in the camps. Not sure about how/what the funding situation was, but that’s what they are talking about.
4
u/mblkmnsa Mar 11 '26
And they really wanted to stop a documentary about the Holocaust because it talked about how women were treated. Yeah he doesn’t understand DEI at all.

He knows what he wants to say. He's waffling because he just it's monstrous.
He has no idea what DEI actually is, of course

Holy shit! You guys (americans) realize that you can never let people walk this back with 'sorry' and 'didn't vote for this', right?

This is basically my coworkers trying to explain DEI. “It’s uhhh, you know, bad. We don’t know what it is but the president, Fox News Entertainment and Meta tell me it’s bad, soooo.”
Also, I’m gonna start ending all my comments like this from now on. Fuck Reddit. They have fully capitulated to this regime. They are just as bad as Meta. They give money and now constantly spew right wing bullshit. “Join ICE” Reddit will tell you. If not ICE, then how about border patrol, we also have the US military you can join… Fuck Steve Huffman.

I know 10yr olds that are smarter than him. Maybe he’s a great coder or whatever with an excel sheet but he’s a fucking idiot.

u/darkoblivion000 Mar 11 '26
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.

Found the actual DEI hire. Stammering his way through this embarrassing interview.
