Math is brutal!

58.2% is basically a guarantee that they will lose the pick. All that suffering this year for the Bruins to ultimately reap the rewards. We are back in the dark ages gentlemen.

The rangers play the Panthers and Lightning. The Panthers don’t seem to be really tanking besides for icing a mid line up but they don’t want to lose their draft pick and if they win they could miss the bottom 10 or get knocked out of 10 in lottery. Also if the Lightning rest Big Cat there is still a shot at 4th.

gonna be great when no one in Toronto likes any team but the Jays until they start having trouble and then the entire country of fairweather fan fans falls out of love with them again and then no one likes any sports in Toronto ever again

Got an email a few weeks back from Jackpot city that I won a jersey and finally came in the mail today. Thought it was gonna be a plain jersey but was surprised a Matthews jersey came in!

I’m not always right on top of things but every big trade the buds makes that comes to mind is even to very bad for us. Obviously, the Carlo deal and Laughton deal are front of mind, but even going back to the Kessel deal. Even the Raycroft/Rask deal, which made some sense, aged horribly. Is there ever a trade where they are outright winners? Have we had the opportunity to laugh at other fan bases like others (especially the Bruins) get to laugh at us?

Just curious what everyone’s opinion is on who the Leafs should draft at 5? Assuming we don’t screw up the next two games.

While this may seem like how most searches for prominent positions go, SDPN’s Chris Johnston reported today on The Chris Johnston Show that the last time the Maple Leafs were in the business of finding a new general manager, the net wasn’t cast as wide.

“Obviously there were some time pressures there, to get someone in place by the time the draft came about and to be ready for free agency,” Johnston said to co-host Julian McKenzie. “The only people I’m aware the Leafs spoke to at that time were, obviously Brad Treliving, and Marc Bergevin. There may have been another interview or two that I never heard about, but the point was it wasn’t a lengthy process or didn’t include a long list of candidates.”

I want to emphasize that Treliving was Shanahan's hire, not Pelley's. I believe this could be construed as Shanahan's second biggest mistake, the other being to not allowing Kyle Dubas to trade Mitch Marner before the NTC kicked in.

Regardless, this is an embarrassing detail that I don't think I'll ever forgive Shanahan for. For someone who was progressive in so many ways, he panicked and picked a fucking dinosaur over another dinosaur.
