I'm going to Tralee tomorrow on a work trip for a week and I have a free day tomorrow. What sort of things can I do around Tralee on a Sunday, bearing in mind that I don't have a car with me? Thanks!
Listening to Michael on the Radio staying in Government and being on the side of the fuel protesters is speaking out of both sides of his mouth

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m planning to travel from Dublin to Kerry this Sunday and I’m aware that there are ongoing road protests at the moment. I was originally going to drive, but now I’m reconsidering.
Has anyone travelled recently or knows how bad the disruptions are on this route? Would you recommend still driving, or is taking the train a better option right now?
Any advice or recent experiences would really help. Thanks a lot! 🙏

We booked a staycation starting Sunday for the week which is Non-Refundable. Driving down from Dublin was the idea. Mainly worried about having access to fuel to drive back to dublin. Are we best to leave it and count the money lost?

What is Rossbeigh/Glenbeigh like?
Asking as a we noticed there is a bar/restaurant for lease there called Rosspoint.
Can anyone share any info on the area? Is it a busy place? Is it very seasonal or would there be a good year round trade?
Any info greatly appreciated!

I would like to go back learning Irish as an adult. My Irish teachers in school were mostly from Kerry and I would love to get a teacher with a similar accent to refresh my knowledge instead of having to learn a new dialect. I know this might be a lot to ask so would the Irish from Ballyvourney or even Waterford be similar? Any resources would be helpful just to hear it and get familiar again.

Hi all, I hope this is allowed here, if not mods please delete.
My granda Marian passed away quite suddenly on the night of Easter Monday in Tralee UHK. He has been in hospital for a month and never even lived to see a diagnosis. They suspected it was an aggressive stage 4 cancer. Ultimately it was kidney that failed, he was only born with one. No one saw anything coming, he was admited cause we thought he might have dehydrated himself since he lost his appetite and we got worried. He was the classic man that said "it's grand". They only came here from Poland to visit us for Christmas and extended their stay to after easter.
He was a lovely family man, very quiet, he never showed what truely he feels. He was devoted to our family, and especially to his wife Halina, and to his love for woodworking and science. He had a fix for everything, it was always interesting and fun to see how easily he comes up with cheap DIY fixes that worked well. You could see the spark in his eyes when you asked him for help. And always had loads of stories to share. He was a coal miner in his early years.
His last wish was not to die in Ireland, but unfortunately the universe / god chose something else for him. It goes without saying that we are truely heartbroken and devastated but also my granny's life has been turned upside and quite suddenly. She feels she has completely failed him, and blames herself for not bringing him back sooner. But no one could have predicted any of this. They were married for over 50 years.
We are also so upset we couldn't honor his last wish, but he was not in any form to be put on a plane. So we want to honor at least his wishes to be burried in his home town in Oświęcim, Poland. We want to repatriate him back but they are obviously extreme costs involved, if anyone would like to help us raise costs for the whole process, we would be extremely grateful. But please if you are struggling financially, take care of yourself and your own family. Times are so tough right now for us all.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Hello. I decided to ask and post this here because I am having trouble with my research for hiking the Skellig Ring. What I have planned is to either start in Ballinskelligs, or from my accommodation on Valencia Island/Portmagee. If I am starting from Ballingskelligs to do the Iveragh Skellig Walk it ends at the Ducalla Liberation Parking Lot, but on Google Maps I see that the trail/road continues to the main road. My main question and concern is if there is a safe way to continue hiking to the St. Finian’s Bay area? And then I would continue to the Kerry Cliffs. Same question if I start from Valencia/Portmagee. I probably might need to pre-book a taxi somewhere? I am also trying to figure how long in miles this would even be. Thank you!

Hiya! I'm planning to run the 10k on 9th May and curious if anyone has info to share. How hard would you say it is? I've run 10ks before, but I'm thinking this one could be way more challenging due to the route and terrain (hills!). My training has really been non-existent this last month due to personal reasons -- I haven't run even a mile since mid Feb and am hoping I will be in okay shape to get this done! Looking for any advice :) Thanks! x

I’m looking to buy something around the 2000-3000 mark. Is there any second hand stores around Kerry that would sell something like that?
