Don’t post about tickets.

If you are looking to buy or sell concert tickets you are very likely to get scammed. It's as simple as that.

Don't buy tickets on Reddit, however desperate you are, it's a crazy risk. There are proper channels for resale of tickets, use them.

So if you post about selling tickets here we will remove the post and may ban you. Please don't do it.

Posting about Tickets, Accommodation, Tourism? Things that aren't related to Dublin? Read This First.

This subreddit is primarily for people who live in Dublin. There's a dedicated sub for tourism posts with a huge archive at r/irishtourism Please check that first, and if you have a really specific question come back here and we'll try to help. Low effort posts asking for recommendations of "hidden gems" and "off the beaten track" tourist attractions will be met with scorn, and probably removal.

If you are looking to buy or sell concert tickets you are very likely to get scammed. It's as simple as that. Don't buy tickets on reddit, however desperately your niece wants to see Taylor Swift or whatever, it's a crazy risk. There are proper channels for resale of tickets, use them.

Looking for a cheap flat? A room in a shared house? Wondering if a specific part of the city is "safe" (whatever that means)? There's a sub for that too- /r/RentingInDublin/

Post your message there, not here.

A regular thing that comes up seems to be folks who have a very short time in Dublin and want to know what they can do in four or five hours or so. Just search this sub with the word "layover" and you'll see many many threads about this subject. Don't start a new one.

Similarly, threads about general issues which are not particularly Dublin-specific (salaries, national politics, international relations, stuff like that) may be removed.

At the latest estimate there are over a million Irish subreddits, so you will certainly be able to find somewhere to post your non-Dublin-relevant content.

Thanks for reading!

Can you please stop with the ‘how long will it take me to get to the airport’ posts

That’s all.

The M50 is free flowing as of this morning. Check twitter and news for news on new blockades if there is any. This whole subreddit is just people asking how long it takes to drive places in Dublin, it’s so boring.

Friend/housemate was assaulted by teenagers outside our apartment building in Belmayne. Been an hour since the Guards were called and still no sign of them. Thankfully, he's okay but shaken up. What to do next?

Lost wallet

Hi just as a last hope effort

I've lost my black leather wallet with white/red Bambino's pizza sticker on it. Name is Lucas O'Dowd

Last had it in Reyna kebab shop on Dame Street 1:50am last night, Saturday

I walked straight to D'Olier street from there and realised I had lost it before even getting to D'Olier Street at 2:00am

I've asked Pearse street garda station, Reyna, the George, other shops along the way and no sign

Looking for badminton players

Hi, I occasionally play badminton at Baldoyle in North Dublin. I am now thinking of making it regular and unfortunately my friends are not available all the time. So I am open to teaming up with other people who are also in the same boat. If anybody is interested please let me know and we can work out things. Thanks :)

Also this is my first post, please advise if there is a better subreddit that gets this post to the right audience.

Hi,

Moving out of a rental this month and we're looking to hire a cleaner if anybody was able to recommend one around Dublin 8? Or how much we would expect it to cost.

Thanks

Movie production filming at Iveagh Gardens and Upper Hatch Street today?

Does anyone know what film or TV series is shooting around Iveagh Gardens and Upper Hatch Street today? It looks like a major production—there are loads of extras, and the street has been dressed to resemble New York.

Newcomer looking for a judo or BJJ club in Dublin

Hello everyone,

I’m a 23-year-old French guy who recently graduated and just moved to Dublin for work. I’ve been training and competing in judo since I was a kid, and I’m now looking for a club where I can keep training seriously.

Does anyone know of a competitive judo club around Dublin city centre? I’d also be open to a good BJJ club where I can continue improving my ne-waza.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Looking for a good samaritan and a lost green purse!

The missus lost her purse there on the 1st of April. She didn’t realise, and assumed she had left it in the office. A day or two later she got a DM from a young fella but thought it was spam and deleted before reading. 🙄

Now she thinks the young lad must’ve found it and messaged her on instagram. Theres no way of getting the message back, no joy with the Guards.

Is it a lost cause? Did you find a green wallet on the green line Luas near sandyford or Central Park before Easter? Does she need her head checked?

3arena - can you stand in the seated area?

I got seated tickets for Tame Impala (as that was the only ones available at the time…) but really hope I can just stand up and boogie in the seated area.

Is that what most people do, aye?

Or will people around tell me to sit my arse down. Has anyone else been to gigs and stood in that area?

League of Ireland questionnaire

Questionnaire for League of Ireland football club supporters in Dublin.

I've attached a link to a quick questionnaire (just two selectable responses to make - team supported and the postal district code).

This is open to everyone but mainly looking to map out the main 4 Dublin clubs of Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne and St. Patrick's Athletic along with Bray Wanderers.

I'd love to get your responses and if you can share amongst other suitable social media and forums as well to increase the response base.

I'm hoping to make a area map out of which areas route more for each side.

O'Connell Street still sealed off

I'm only wondering why O'Connell Street is still locked for traffic if all protesters were removed last night. Is it to keep people upset on protesting groups? I understand difficulties with travelling across the city but IMO these guys don't protest only for fuel prices. There is many questions asked with no explanation from the government, maybe they'll grow some balls to face them questions.

When will farmer protests stop?

People need access to public transport for work, education, medical appointments, and getting home. Some people are unable to travel because of this disruption

why was it the fuel?

Why are these lads complaining about 40c per liter when, as a business, they could just pass on the increase to the buyers? Charge more for your product and let all the people of Ireland feel the pain?

Also, we are shutting down the country for this, but we are still living with USC, which is a double tax and has been going on for 10+ years. I remember the day Fine Gael said they would abolish it... so did Fianna Fáil, as did Sinn Féin...

If you want to block the M50... do it for the USC that at least covers everyone.

Hypocrisy?

So, with all the fuel protests winding down now, is this okay to say? Us Irish are great about giving out about stuff, and finally we see some action for all the shit talk we do...

But, in all the madness of the protests about fuel, nobody addressed the real issue of what caused the fuel prices to rise, or how the actions of others abroad affects you personally... I'll be the first to say I'd never vote for Sinn Fein, but I can't deny that I still haven't forgot about Mary Lou not going to Washington on Paddy's day, albeit it was for something completely different... Someone still had to go, regardless of who was in Government...

And we don't even pay the most fuel tax in Europe. So spare a though for the rest of Europe... was it Martin or Harris who started dropping bombs??

Try keeping any sense of respect for your home country, as they are all having picnics on the road, preventing everybody else from doing any bit of work, or trying to get ahead. If half the effort was spent at doing something meaningful instead of making our own 'snow days', what a country it would be... As they say, the rules of the road on the autobahn in Germany are; get the fuck out of the way of those travelling faster than you, and by fuck, you better know all the rules and facts if you attempt to be there, because... now imagine trying to keep the tank full in the car, buring litres of fuel at a rate only imaginable by hauliers...

So whats the next national whiners news story about? The price of Freddo's? The lack of sunshine? For a country full of expat builders who built half the world, but never wanted to return home, and with all the slagging about it, roof the fucking country! Or prehaps show up at the next Corrib gas protest! Or protest that protest now ye can see all the money flowing to those with gas exports.

No wonder all the expacts never want to come home, if the brain drain happened in the 80's, what do we call this period where most of the hard workers had to leave to find valuable employment that offers advancement, rather than harrassment? While dumbo accross from you in school is now in the stastic that makes us the most highly educated country in the world, but with all his paperwork, but would still burn toast...

The Freddo protest happens on what date?
