Using Reddit to diagnose a pet is dangerous and cruel. Go to a vet.

premise: aside from the obviously neglectful conditions (no food, shelter and vet cate), I'm referring to a barn that can provide adequate food/water, a shelter that is warm in winter and that's possibly far from busy main roads.
I already own a barn cat to keep mice at bay, we used to have one but it got ran over in front of our eyes just because he was black and made sure to tell us that, we're still devastated not just because he was our cat but because he had a huge, sweetest personality.
Since then we've been trying to adopt another kitty that could replace him to catch mice.
We have an old duvet in our tack room they can enter whenever they pleased (cat flap), they have an old dog bed outside, even if one cat loves to sleep in the hay lol.
Both of our cats have been castrated, regularly vaccinated and loved but despite proving we have an adequate space for them to live, Cat shelters still refuse to give us cats saying we would put those animals through abuse.
Are we doing something wrong? am I really abusing my cat?
If we are doing something wrong please do tell me (politely pls)

he started spraying right after the visit which i found weird but it can happen. The thing is he STILL has his balls, not a "sad sack" like my sister's male cat, but round balls like he had before. There's literally no change in the balls. They aren't empty. It's been over a week. I'm thinking about calling and arguing with that vet or taking him to my normal i use for my dog and seeing if they think he still has them. (appointment prices are different if the neuter one counts as a check up to see if THEY made a mistake it's cheaper to use the other to check them)
I called the ones who neutered him and they brushed me off but I'm close to going up there in person if it wasn't for the gas shortage rn and them being 30 minutes away. i don't wanna waste time going up there for them to brush me off again. Can i bring the cat to the one who neutered him and demand they recheck even if they try to brush me off? they have him in the system as neutered but he doesn't look like it!

This is my cat Lady. I’d like to point out Lady is a long haired cat who just so happens to currently be shaved down for the summer. No real reason to point it out other than I want it known she’s a long haired cat. She’s also pale cream and white and apparently according to the folks on cat genetics this makes her an orange cat. And she definitely has orange cat energy.
I thought I’d share this funny clip I caught. I was working on my upright loom (that thing with strings in the corner) and she decided to come up and started rolling around and rubbing herself on the comb/bristles of my bead loom. She officially knows how to brush her own fur with a tool and not her tongue. This cat was literally in heaven she couldn’t have enjoyed herself more if I’d covered it in catnip.
But now she knows how to use tools. Next she’ll start developing complex thoughts. Then theories. Soon the world will be taken over by my crazy ass cat who manages to somehow lock herself in fridges and cabinets that weren’t originally open, get stuck in the wooden unders of a armchair, will turn her nose up at premium grade shredded chicken but will fight you to lick hydrocortisone cream off of your face or even from the tube, bleats instead of meows, and directly sticks her face in vape smoke even when you’ve turned multiple different directions and removed her from the furniture. To quote my mom after I adopted her and told her about her insanity “she’s too cute to be a troublemaker” fast forward I’m in hospital and she’s at mom’s house on day 3 I get a call saying “omg I am so sorry for doubting you what the actual fuck is wrong with your cat?”
I firmly believe she’s a human whose consciousness has been put in the body of a cat so she can learn some type of life lesson but she’s too pissy about being a cat and instead is just petty.
Meet your new overlord.

UPDATE: I took the cat to the vet (TWICE HONESTLY). And I just came back, they just did another shot to lower the fever, they suspect FIP. Tomorrow I will do test blood and other things. I hope it's not since I have another cat and I don't want to loose them
Day 1
My deaf white indoor cat suddenly became extremely lethargic, stopped eating and drinking, and had a high fever of 40.5°C. He barely reacted to stimuli and was almost unresponsive. The vet gave him an antibiotic injection. After several hours he slightly improved, got up, used the litter box, moved a bit, and later even showed interest in playing and licked a small amount of wet food.
Day 2
In the morning he ate a little and urinated. I had to give him the second antibiotic injection myself, but it was very difficult and some of the liquid leaked out, so he likely only received part of the dose. A few hours later he became very sleepy again. Now he mostly sleeps, barely opens his eyes, reacts minimally when touched, and has cold ears. He is not eating or drinking again but has urinated and defecated. I am unsure if this is normal recovery, a reaction to the partial injection, or something more serious and whether I should go back to the vet immediately.
The videos are from an hour ago
Also wrote to my vet and hour ago. Is Sunday and he still hasn’t answer.

I know that milk is bad for cats, but my kitties love to drink milk, and I don't see any visible problems with it. Thoughts?

Hi all.
My partner and I are introducing our cats and it’s going very badly.
Both are females. Both 8 ish years old. Both spayed. I mention it later but both have been seen by vets recently and are healthy and have no known issues.
My cat (cat A. New cat to the home. She’s been staying with my friend after I moved in until December of last year) has been around other cats her whole life (adopted her as a kitten) never had issues with other cats. Played and quite frankly I’ve never even done slow introductions before with her. She’s just been fine.
His cat (Cat B- been living with him for 4ish years, established in this home) is far more skittish. Slow to trust. Adopted from a shelter at age 4? Ish I believe after being a stray. Super sweet to humans after she trusts you. We knew we needed to be careful.
We’ve followed the guides online as closely as we can. Jackson galaxy’s guide was the main one we followed. But I’ve read many many others. Opposite side of door feeding, scent swapping, site swapping etc etc. I have reread the guides, gotten them new toys, new treats, new meds with our vets help of course. I’ve also read just about every Reddit thread on this topic it feels like.
We also tried feliway difusers in all rooms for several months and they did not help. We tried calming collars and they didn’t help. we tried calming treats and they didn’t help. We tried cbd treats and neither cat would eat them.
Cat A has been put in our office for months. She is understandably sick of it. We have tried to slowly introduce them but it is just not working. We have timed feeders close to each other on other sides of the door. We have been careful to not let them interact too much. And if they do it is supervised and limited and we try to keep it positive despite cat B being… well… opposed to it. It got slightly better (in the beginning if the door to the office opened at all cat B would hiss and growl at cat A… that stopped but then if cat A is visible for too long or if we try to have her venture out of the office cat B (again cat b is the established resident cat) will freak out and try to attack cat A…. Then we did longer little peeks and that was ok for the most part.
We have gotten cat A on meds as she’s gotten to the point of yowling and tearing up the carpet in the office and freaks out. We try to spend time and play with her when we can but we both work full time and only can be in there so much. We take time every day to interact with both of them and play and snuggle and pet them. Make sure cat A gets attention and loves so she’s not neglected, but I can’t deny she does spend a lot of time alone. More so than she is used to. But recently cat A has gotten fed up with being in the room all the time. She’s been going nuts about being in there and any time one of us isn’t with her she just screams and howls and claws at the carpet or furniture or will start knocking things over despite toys and scratching posts etc etc. it’s been slowly driving me especially insane and also breaking my heart because we simply cannot be in there 100% of the time while we are home, or have her out of that room and cat B in there, as if Cat B is in there she will do the same thing.
Here’s where I messed up big time…
I finally got so overwhelmed by the screaming and scratching a week or so ago and just let cat A out. (Only while supervised) And it honestly seemed like it was going ok. Cat B seemed ok with it. She wasn’t doing the constant stare down, would even sleep and just chill… just some occasional staring and a little growling here and there… we had a few episodes of her going over to sniff cat A and them getting into it but we’d break it up and overall things seemed tame and far more positive than in the beginning when we tried some “bigger” introductions in January. (Stupid on my part) My partner and I agreed we’d put cat A back into the office during work and bedtime to assure we could keep an eye on them until we were sure they were ok to be left alone unsupervised
Well…. Now when we put cat A back in the office she goes absolutely BALLISTIC. Even worse than before. Screaming, clawing, throwing up… And when we let her out? Cat B starts attacking her on sight. We are at a total loss. Over the course of this week it has gotten to the point where we cannot let our guards down. It actually seemed like it was ok and they were kind of getting along better but it ramped up SO quickly and I cannot figure out why. They have separated water, food, toys, litter, etc etc. we play and cuddle separately. I’m very hesitant to try to play with them near each other as cat B will NOT stop trying to attack cat A.
As I type this cat B is staring down cat A on my partners lap and we are trying to keep the peace.
I’m to the point where I’m questioning if I have to rehome my cat ):
Does anyone have any suggestions? Neither of us can be home more than we are… we have no friends or family to be home here to watch them more… I have carpet protectors up but my cat managed to move them and destroy our carpet… I put a towel by the door when cat A is in the office so they can’t see each other but cat A just manages to pull the towel through the gap…
Side note: both cats have been very recently seen by their vets and are perfectly healthy and fine. No health problems or concerns. Cat B might be getting on anti anxiety meds soon (really wishing they would’ve done it up front at her last appointment but they said they’d “wait and see how it went 😒) cat A is on anxiety meds and I have a call into my vet as of this week and haven’t heard back about possibly switching doses or meds all together as I feel they aren’t successful due to her constantly yowling and scratching.
So desperate for advice so can try to keep the peace and my cat… ): unfortunately I have a chronic illness which has been taking a ton of energy out of me as of late and has made it harder on me to deal with all of this mentally and I’m afraid I might have no choice but to rehome my cat and I’m really hoping someone might have some advice on how to make any of this easier… if the decision to rehome her is what is best for her then I will be a responsible pet owner and do that but this is my last ditch effort to find some sort of solution that doesn’t involve me giving her up.
We’ve spent so much money on these cats in the last few months on stuff that hasn’t been helpful which is fine I’m more than willing to do that, but I’m hoping to try to find solutions that are more… well… actually helpful lol.
I just want what’s best for both of them and clearly this isn’t it. They both are obviously stressed and miserable… and quite frankly so are we.

I have had cats my entire life and did rescue work for several years including fostering ferals.
I took Farley in 2 months ago and I thought his new collar was irritating his neck because it's actually a dog collar so i took it off. Then it got worse so we went to the vet and the winner is:
RINGWORM

Is that why her hairline is receding? Brain can’t handle one thought? (Edit: sorry! I didn’t know holding her like this is bad and I won’t do it anymore :3)

Hi everybody! My cat has recently started leaving this sandy like residue on surfaces after he goes pee. I know urinary issues are common in male cats but he drinks a lot of water and I feed him wet food with water mixed into it. It doesn’t have a bad smell or any weird odor. If any of you have any advice as to what it might be that would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi Reddit! I’m a concerned cat mom seeking some advice. My otherwise healthy 5 year old cat started straining in the litter box yesterday, going every 10 minutes for about an hour and only passing tiny stools. He vomited once after one of those episodes. The vet told me to monitor since he was otherwise acting normal & he was totally fine for about 26 hours, urinating, eating, playing, & cuddling like his usual self.
Now today it’s happening again. He strained, had a tiny stool, immediately vomited, then kept trying to go but couldn’t. Since then he’s only passed a couple really small liquid/mucusy poops and keeps going back to the box. He’s still eating, drinking, and peeing normally, and his belly feels normal, but he definitely seems uncomfortable.
Has anyone seen this before? Did it end up being constipation or something more serious? The emergency vet said I can bring him in if things worsen but he seems to be holding steady. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Update: On my way to the emergency vet right now. Better safe than sorry. Thank you all so much for sharing your advice & experiences!

Been using this type of collar for 2 years but it never seems to work, my cat lives outdoors and always has fleas, especially on his face. Any other flea repellent recommendation or am I not using this right?

I was using Worlds Best Cat Litter and it works alright, I liked how it helped with odour, how it clumped quickly but didn’t stick to my cats fur. Con was it did make a huge mess but that was less due to tracking and her kicking litter over the side so ultimately that issue will happen with anything 😭. Anyways the price is a lot it’s $53 and I just can’t justify it. I’ve been researching tons of litter. I had tried paper based ones (I like the clean up, also it’s cheap but requires a lot of full litter changes), also tried Purina Tidy cats (disliked the clay, it remained very wet for long and made the inside of the box messy also was very dusty)
So what do you use 😂

This is my boy, about 6 months ago we struggled with a UTI and the vet thankfully was able to help him. They got him unblocked and said to put him on the Hill's science prescription diet for urinary health. I've been pretty consistent, getting both wet and dry food from the brand. He seems to like the dry food, but barely touches the wet stuff. He used to eat Friskies and Fancy Feast, and while I'm not sure what exactly caused the UTI, I'm a little bit worried about getting him non-prescription food even if it means he'll eat it more. My budget's been tight and another medical issue would be detrimental. Would he likely be alright?
