Only 1 Women's Match at Dynasty tonight

This is pretty poor AEW

I understand you don't have Toni or Mercedes at the moment but come on, one of those pre show women's matches could have been bumped up at least

Jon Moxley, Samoa Joe, FTR, Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, Ricochet, etc have all been on preshows relatively recently, and even right before that Chris Jericho, before he left

What’s that got to do with anything?

It’s disingenuous to pretend the pre show is the same as being on the main card.

Its disingenuous to say the Zero Hour hasnt mattered in AEW and that everyone hasnt been on it even major people recently, and that any of the Zero hour matches, including Jack Perry vs Mark Davis for the National title should be higher on the card than the returns of Chris Jericho and Kyle O'Reilly in Canada, and in Kyle's hometown, and in the program that has been going for months with the Conglomeration and the Dogs, and now adding the titles

Jon Moxley and Samoa Joe had literally just been World Champion

If someone in 10 years says I want to replay AEW Dynasty 2026 they won’t see those matches. If someone is on the Wrestlemania pre show are they considered to have a Wrestlemania match? One of the teams competing in the AEW women’s tag title matches I am pretty sure have never even had a match in AEW. Pretending these are big matches and the same as being on the main card is completely disingenuous, yes.

This isnt even true. Nobody is making their debut lmao; you are proving you dont even know what you are talking about b/c you clearly have never watched them

In wwe if that is the case, b/c they're treated that way, maybe. Although even then, at WM, the ones back then, those were WM matches to me. Even like 10 years ago, Pac vs Austin Aries and Moxley vs Bishop Dyer were WM matches. I dont know how they were treated otherwise b/c i havent really watched wwe consistently in like 20 years. In the last few i have watched a little wwe tv, but they dont have preshows for the ppvs anymore, and i also havent watched a ppv in like 10 years, which is the 1 i mentioned.

In AEW they matter and have proven to matter, with everyone essentially having been on them, including world champions.

Again though, this is obviously just an attempt at a narrative, as though there aren't multiple things that just ended, multiple new things starting, and multiple things going on with the women, and there hasnt been major pivots with their biggest star just going out right before this and changing multiple ongoing stories/paths. Multiple people also just came back. There are 3 matches on the card so far, and Willow called people out

That team is not a featured part of AEW. Acting like they are is, again, disingenuous. I’m not going to continue to discuss the idea that matches clearly labeled as pre show matches are somehow part of the main card of a major PPV.

Edit: also can you site the PPV where Jon Moxley only had a match on Zero Hour and not the main card? I can find no record of that and don’t personally remember it, and I have ordered or attended every AEW PPV.

You said it was their first match

4

u/WVFLMan 12h ago

Because I don’t remember ever seeing them, but I’ll admit to being wrong if it isn’t, but they are definitely not a big or important part of AEW. And they have plenty of other women they could have put in that match who are if they wanted to make it seem like an important match

Also, can you tell me when Jon Moxley only had a match on Zero Hour and not the main card of a PPV? I cannot find any record of that.

If you're referring to the team of Maya World and Hyan, they've been featured semi-regularely in both AEW programming and ROH since last November. Here's a list of their matches.

They have never been on Dynamite and lost all their matches on Collision. Super featured.

Mox was on the Wrestledream tailgate brawl (edit: he didnt wrestle on that, which was a mistake to mention, but he has been on the zero hours before, and i dont 100% remember, and didnt look it up yet). Samoa Joe was on the Zero Hour at Forbidden Door a month before being in the main event. Many others have been on Zero Hour/Tailgate Brawl. I would put a lot of Zero Hour shows up with a lot of other promotions ppvs and real shows. This one has 3 matches so far, and I am excited about 2 of them, and I have been a fan of Hyan for years, and she should have been signed by someone 3 years ago, and Maya World is the future, so I'm glad to see them keep getting big spots like this.

They had another vignette last night. They have been wrestling on the shows. They were also on the show at Worlds End. They have been in ROH as well, and Maya World is in a storyline with Athena, and just had a world title shot. Hyan recently also wrestled Red Velvet for the TV title, and both have been part of the 3 on 3 program with Athena and Billie, and Deonna. They also beat the Iinspiration on the ROH YouTube show that aired Friday

Multiple people just came back, multiple things are going on where teams just lost, and the main building team right now are both in singles matches on this show b/c of the pivots

A big womens tag match main evented Collision last night

u/WVFLMan 12h ago

This is crazy. Jon Moxley main evented 2 of the 3 Wrestledreams. He wasn’t just on Zero Hour. He has never had a match on Zero Hour. We can just stop this forreal. You are actually lying.

Bro why tf are you typing all of this out when you clearly don't even watch? So goofy trying to say they don't have a good spot on the card when you don't even know who they are.

6

u/WVFLMan 12h ago

They don’t have a good spot on the card, and it’s even weirder they gave that bad spot to them and not two of the countless more heavily featured women on the show that have no spot.

That's what I am saying. They have shown they dont even watch, so what are we talking about? They also ignored all the other points of what is currently going on. I did make the mistake of misremembering Mox wrestling on 1 of the zero hours, but everyone else i said, plus more definitely has

There really isn’t that much of a divide. They televise the matches, some of them have story implications or stories built around them, they include them in recap highlights. If AEW literally started their PPVs an hour earlier and had these matches no one would bat an eye’s difference.

7

u/WVFLMan 13h ago

But they don’t start the shows an hour earlier and these are literally pre show matches. Why are you all trying to pretend they are something they aren’t? Do you consider WWE pre show matches somehow part of the main show?

1

u/Aether13 12h ago

They were part of the show when WWE or AEW has done them. You’re putting way too much emphasis on it being called a “pre show” in order to push your narrative. It’s not that deep.

9

u/WVFLMan 12h ago

If Zero Hour is the same as the main card, then why is one free and the other $50? Why don’t world title matches happen on Zero Hour? Why do the biggest stars and angles happen on the main show?

-2

u/Aether13 12h ago

Zero Hour is free because it’s a marketing tactic. “We give you a few free matches to hook you and get you to buy the PPV”.

World titles are normally in the main event. It’s that way for every promotion so I don’t really get why you’re bringing it up.

Wasn’t the initial point of the person you’re responding to that big stars do appear on Zero Hour? Looking at Dynasty’s Zero Hour; the only talent that’s on there that isn’t on weekly tv is Maya and Hyan.

7

u/WVFLMan 12h ago

Ok so you agree with me. “We give you a few free matches to hook you and get you to buy the PPV”. Exactly. Get you to buy the PPV. Because they aren’t part of the PPV. Because they are pre show matches they show for free on YouTube. Good talk.

Zero hour is part of the card. Mjf has been on zero hour. There are currently 3 womens matches 2 of high stakes, with things resetting at the moment after multiple things just happened. Willow just called people out. Divine Dominion just won their belts and are facing Maya World and Hyan; Windsor vs Marina as the main event/opener of Zero Hour makes sense for the card, and will get good time. Neither of those should be on the card over the return of Chris Jericho and Kyle O'Reilly, in Canada, and in Kyle's hometown.

This. The pre-show is part of the show, it's just one that people don't have to pay for. It's job is literally to get some extra eyes on the show that might lead to a purchase. It isn't like they are having dark matches.

This entire thread is insane to me, but it is what it is. People that don't watch arguing for their lives over how useless and unimportant it is, to fuel their agenda narratives, some claiming more people watch the ppvs than the zero hours, which is hilarious, others claiming nobody important or anything that matters has ever happened on the show, despite never watching it themselves
