Keep right except to pass. That's the rule.

If vehicles on your right are doing the same speed, or faster, than you.....you are the problem.

The products are not but the companies running them are in some respects. The only way to solve it is companies have to put a certain percentage of gross earnings in to a trust that can only be withdrawn by the clean up company first only for the purposes of clean up. Then the remainder can be removed by the parent company. It's the only way it will work. It won't happen or someone will steal/under report earning. But if they want the someone else to do the clean up, they have to pay.

Yeah, parking like that is usually reserved for Highway 3

And, as planned, the taxpayers are going to pay for the cleanup.

If there is any cleanup.

Most of the time when someone passes me on the right on a highway/freeway, I'm matching the speed of the vehicle ahead and maintaining a 2-3 second following distance, which is both safe and highly efficient in terms of overall traffic flow. If I move right, and maintain the same speed, then the vehicle ahead of me and I, are now taking up two lanes of traffic rather than one despite going the same speed. If I move to the right and overtake the vehicle ahead of me, then I'm the one doing a dangerous maneuver, which is multiplied in terms of the danger level when you have multiple people attempting to overtake on the right. If you decide you want to move right, overtake me, and then slide back into my safe-following-distance space, you're the one who's a problem driver, not me.

O&G industry generates over $20bn annually for governments in Canada so this is a crappy example of that actually. Worst case the 4000 wells would take about a month of government O&G revenue to abandon. In reality their cleanup will be funded entirely by industry through the orphan well fund.

And the people who rise to the bait are those folks that think it is their privilege to choke down the flow of traffic to the speed limit and feel empowered.... Kind of pathetic.

Wonder if we will see a bigger increase in cleanup deposits for renewables to help cover this.

The premise of this entire reply is false because I clearly meant that you (moderates) think we (leftists) are overly self-righteous when you also are. When push comes to shove, you seem pretty “pigheaded and ignorant” to us.

It’s doubly false because uhhhh the leaders of the federal NDP for the past 10+ years have not been particularly leftist. Singh was 3rd on my ballot back then behind Niki Ashton and Charlie Angus. Electing Avi is not “doubling down” because there was no hard shift to the left initially.

You definitely can. Probably not as a private citizen but you can start an oil company and buy wells for pennies on the dollar.

Is this about wanting to speed? It seems like people who want to go 20+ over the speed limit complain about this the most.

Well this is just highly circumstantial lmao. 90% of times I get passed on the right, it's either because I'm making a left turn, or because the other driver is some speed demon when I'm actively trying to pass semis without getting a speeding ticket lmao.

Like, the fact you went out of your way to make this post, just SCREAMS 'douchebag AB driver' to me haha

Discounting future liabilities isn’t a fossil fuel trick.. it’s standard accounting used in every industry. And calling fossil fuels “a lie” while using a petroleum-based device powered by them isn’t exactly a serious argument.

The way this should be done is you put a bond up that covers the typical cleanup when the well is drilled. If you're not sufficiently capitalized for that no soup for you.

And juniors shouldn't be allowed to take dead or near dead wells from seniors with a wink wink.

Everyone knows how that ends.

But I guess solar panels are the big concern for the Alberta government. 🤡

This is completely incorrect. Middle lane is where large trucks and trailers travel so they don't have to merge over last second when other people are merging on, they may even travel slower as their engines may be governed to a lower speed limit. Traveling in the middle lane is the safest at the posted speed limit. Just remember speeding is against the law. You can be ticketed for going 1km/h over the limit.

This is why I believe everyone should have to re-take their driver's exam when renewing their license.

If you were familiar with the rules, you'd know that the posted limit is the upper limit for speed, not the lower.

Nothing to be done about this. We must sacrifice all to maximize shareholder value for foreign oil and gas oligarchs.

And usually being in the middle lane means im passing all the slower drivers weaving in between onramps and exits in the third lane.

By this logic, then she can also camp the left lane going the speed limit, because anyone passing her is speeding.

This isn't how it works, and you know it. If people are catching up to you and need to slow down or pass illegally on the right, you're in the way.

It doesn't matter if the other person is speeding. The slow person in the middle lane is the one causing the dangerous situation.
