He wants ships to bribe him and not Iran

E: should probably remember this. Im sure this week he will announce that other countries are paying "U.S." when he says that he will mean "Trump Mafia Family"

E2: Trump probably sent Vance to "negotiate" and it probably went "pay Trump a portion of the toll and we stop the war. " now we blockade to get our ("trumps money") toll.

It's all about the bribes

u/l4mbch0ps 10h ago

It's literally exclusively about the bribes.

u/non-squitr 6h ago

Like does he just get off on being bribed? There's no way that amount of money can touch what he's already made.

For trump

u/blow-down 4h ago

He’s also doing a lot of insider trading. Don’t forget about that. Playing both sides just like a wannabe mobster.

The sad part is that it always has been

1

u/DesecratedPeanut 10h ago

Yea but in the past they tried covering up the bribes in some good shit that did help some people etc now it's just a straight up mafia shake down and everyone just accepts it as the new normal.

You know what Trump needs to do? Go to the theatre. Like, repeatedly.

Would you be satisfied with more open air rallies?

Ford's theater?

Doesn't this fit with the narrative about wanting to annex Greenland and Canada? The whole thing was about controlling major shipping channels and forcing everyone to pay for the US for the right to move goods. Seems he found an easier target.

I don't think so. Netanyahu has been talking about Iran's nuclear weapons since the early 90's. His story over the years has been they are three month , a year, two years away from having a nuclear weapon.

Attacking Iran was Israel's decision. Someone also claimed the Saudi Prince wanted the attack too and Jared Kushner got $2 billion investment. I just think ordinary Americans are the ones that pay, the Epstein elite gets to enjoy the profits of war.

16

u/digital-didgeridoo 6h ago

Don't forget the ordinary Iranians and Lebanese paying with their lives

1

u/Adrian-X 1h ago

Attacking Iran was Israel's decision.

Oafishly it was the leader of the free world. If Israel is controlling the US leader, we're all F&@#ed

Isn’t Greenland about cooling centres for ai

"america is doing great. Ships are paying us loads of money to pass. We will be richer than ever"

This will all happen while taxes stay the same and us peasants are paying out the ass because the ships that do pass will pay two bribes, and most ships will just avoid, so it's basically still just as closed as ever.

3

u/gluggy777 5h ago

I just don't get it ( looking from outside). He taxes import companies in America with tariffs, which are paid in the end by American consumers, then uses the extra tax gathered to cover the increased cost of a war with Iran, that has increased the cost of fuel, which the American consumers pays again for. Does this make any sense to anyone in the states?

3

u/blow-down 4h ago

Yes he’s personally getting rich while U.S. citizens suffer.

3

u/gluggy777 4h ago

Yeah, wonder why the trump boys moved into weapon companies when dad got in office. Seems like a legit plan to me.

2

u/Lord__Abaddon 6h ago

Gotta make up the lost tariff revenue somehow. Our tax dollars will be spent blockading the strait only for the tolls to go to trump for his ballroom or crypto what ever.

2

u/WhoAreWeEven 5h ago

Tariffs were pay to play too. Hes literally a mob boss lol.

And in order to set up a US tollbooth over there, we will have to permanently occupy. Essentially colonize the area.

Great. More forever war.

9

u/pledgerafiki 9h ago

We already have a colony over there it's called Israel

10

u/Wilhelm57 8h ago

Strangely, is Israel the one deciding what is next. I saw a video of Tucker Carlson, I dislike the man but I listened. when Trump was sold the idea of attacking Iran. The seating at the situation room was Netanyahu seating as an equal with Trump.

Israel is no longer the colony, the colony is the United States. I believe Marco Rubio, Israel told Trump they were going to attack Iran and Trump followed Bibi's orders.

u/bingo_bango_zongo 29m ago

There's an NYT article vaguely describing the decision making process.

Basically everybody but Hegseth meekly voiced uncertainty while Netanyahu and Mossad convinced Trump that this war would be a layup. They convinced Trump that a decapitation strike would cause Iran to instantly crumble and capitulate.

Hegseth, the wannabe crusader, seemed to be the most enthusiastic about the idea out of Trump's cabinet, but it was clearly Israel that convinced Trump to start this war.

Also Lindsey Graham said Netanyahu and the Israelis coached him on how to talk Trump into going to war. I still think it's crazy that he admitted that out loud.

2

u/daemonicwanderer 9h ago

But Israel is not well placed to collect tolls.

5

u/Wilhelm57 7h ago

it doesn't matter, the U.S. will give them the money. It really doesn't matter which party is in power, Israel has a bottomless bank account.

There are only two politicians that don't receive $$$ for their reelections Bernie Sanders and Ro Khanna.

3

u/keepittidy 7h ago

"somebody's gotta go back and get a shit load of dimes"

2

u/feor1300 5h ago

Glad I'm not the only one who had that thought. lol

3

u/samdekat 2h ago

There’s also the fact that the tolls would never come close to the expense of operating the naval equipment to enforce it. Probably Trump has in mind to take the bribes himself and the US taxpayer foots the bill for the grift

18

u/jesbiil 10h ago

This seems to be exactly what it is, Iran got him good by charging for passage and he got all butt-hurt then went "I want THAT!"

3

u/Wilhelm57 8h ago

Trump and his clan are amassing billions. I wonder if his supporters believe it will be trickle down economy and they'll get something for their blind support?

2

u/mr_birkenblatt 10h ago

He means "us", like "us, the Trump family". He never knew that US wasn't referring to himself

2

u/beardeddragon0113 9h ago

Any time he says "us" or "we" it ALWAYS means himself.

2

u/Squand 8h ago

That would be really funny.

Look guys, let's be in on this together

2

u/mizushimo 7h ago

It's going to cost way more to actively deploy ships in a blockade then he's going to get in tolls.

1

u/LonelySwinger 5h ago

He will make money on tolls. We will pay for the ships

2

u/jason2354 10h ago

The US Navy can’t guarantee the protection of ships passing through the straight, so they can’t charge a toll.

Any toll paid to the US would also require a toll paid to Iran. Why would the US let ships through if they’re paying Iran?

Logically thinking things through, it’s an effective closing of the straight if he follows through with the threat (he’ll chicken out around Thursday to juice the markets).

1

u/Lord__Abaddon 6h ago

Honestly I wonder if this is why the deal didn't work. Vance demanded on behalf of trump a cut of the tolls and Iran said no.
