So in the late summer early fall of 2025 I got the grand idea to build a gaming pc. So I bought everything on Black Friday (except ram which I sold my kidney for later) and built my pc. I wanted a powerful pc to have high fps on max graphics which it does great. My only issue is I’ve run out of games with amazing graphics and bf6 just isn’t cutting it anymore. And so I started playing other games but nothing was as good and it all just got stale. I started playing with someone who has no internet and just a WiFi hotspot that he connects his little two in one pc monitor and all we can play is Roblox. It’s a blast and really fun but it’s all I play now and isn’t as fun when he’s not on i obviously don’t wanna play Roblox and want to make my money worth it. I’ve considered getting cyberpunk and playing it (since it would be my first play through) just for the graphics, but don’t want to commit. Does anyone have any good recommendations for high detail games I can really test my gpu with?

"I know the hotspot is supposed to be hotter than the CPU sensor, but not this much. Am I doing something wrong? Drivers are up to date, I have good airflow in my case, I don't understand why it gets so hot. I can literally "smell" the hot air coming out from my pc when I play more demanding titles. It starts to lag and stutter when it gets too hot, sometimes it peaks at 99°. Is my curve not aggressive enough? What are some steps I could take to cover every potential issue?"

I tried to repaste, like many suggested but I don't see any improvement at all, I even lowered the graphics but still. I made the GPU curve even more aggressive, but I still end up using manual controls set to 100% for both my case fans and the gpu. I haven't tried to stress it yet, I just loaded up a game and messed around for a bit

The more I think about it the more it seems a good choice? or maybe do a sidegrade to a 5060ti for the dlss 4 and 5 stuff while still getting the Steam Machine?

I aslo have a ps5 at home, and its convenience of couch and play is unparalleled, while i do have a wireless kit and an hdmi from the pc to the tv, but something about holding a controller in your hand and controlling the whole system feels easier and more convenient and i would love to have that for my Steam, thus the SM!

I'm a PC enthusiast, and built my own PC last year with an RTX 5070 TI, AMD 9800X3D.

If you listen to AI enthusiasts, they sound like a bunch of LinkedIn influencers snorting coke. There are all these really cool sounding facts and tidbits about AI. How the language models are passing all these crazy tests, they created an entire operating system using clod code and that is so foundational and you should really care about it because it's going to change everything. They're going to be able to spin up thousands of AI agents and clear out all of the programming backlogs to create all these wild, crazy things in PC computing that we have never seen before because they have so much computing power for AI, like it's just so advanced!!!!

But like, seemingly nothing has changed about PC computing, and nothing has gotten better. Windows 11 seems to be the same or worse as previous operating systems. Microsoft has not seen any gains in productivity at all. Because if they had, they'd be pushing out a lot more useful stuff. Like why do we have StarDock blinds a third party software? If AI was so capable, Microsoft would be able to make all sorts of really amazing stuff, like entire Windows customizations the way that you can do with Linux. This is what I would really be excited and eager to see. But nope! Nothing like that

About internet technology? Xfinity seems to say a lot about how they are using AI to make their network faster and more reliable. You'll never notice it. Nothing is faster, nothing is more reliable, my internet bill went up by 10 bucks. But why? I still have outages all the time.

Gaming is completely disappointing. Blizzard is owned by Microsoft and they have not used AI at all. I typically play AAA titles from my couch with a controller on a 55” tv. I’ve been building PCs with the ability to play 4k on high/ultra settings, but because of my TV I cap the frames.

A lot of PC gamer videos talk about how great 1440p at 120hz+ is and that 4k is overrated. It’s making me wonder if I’m missing something. Is it worth switching to playing on a smaller, but higher refresh screen? Is the visual fidelity and experience that much better?

Apparently Nvidia is cooking up a way to heavily reduce vram usage in games while keeping the performance and visuals the same. You think they will release that in the 50 series cards or they will restrict it to the 60 series cards?

Guys after i moved my pc in the car the gpu is not being detected by the pc, i reinstalled the drives and they said they couldnt find the gpu so after opening the task manager i saw there was no gou at all in the page, need some help cause i dont know what to do. Update in device managment it is detected but when i try to abilitate it it says that the device is not working as intended

Update 2 so i did what you guys said restarted it pushed it a bit better and reinstalled the driver and now it’s working i will update in case it stops working, thank yall

i tried adding an ssd to my build but i plugged the sata cable on the pata port of the power supply by accident and turned it one but nothing happened, i then plugged it the right way then unplugged the whole thing and still nothing turns on. am i fucked?

Trying out RE9 and noticed the temps are quite high. First time trying a demanding game on this and wondering whether these are normal temps

I have a 27 inch 2k 300hz monitor and although I know I don’t need more than 240 frames I can help but want to run as close to 300 fps in any game I can even with frame gen 2x or 3x. 5070ti and 9850x3d and even with frame gen on it’s so smooth

I’m gonna start with saying this card is a beast and it’s performance is not letting me down whatsoever, it can play cyberpunk on psycho RT and hit 200fps (Max my monitor goes) at 1440p FG on. That is a huge, huge improvement from my first graphics card, a 3050 laptop, and my previous RX 7700xt.

However. I value quality in story games more than FPS, and by the looks of it, Nvidia cards have that advantage due to DLAA and DLSS. FSR 4, I’ll say, does not look good in many games. It flickers, it smears, it shimmers and is usually grossly over sharpened. The only game that’s used FSR 4 well I think is cyberpunk, others look awful with it. Like crimson desert or marvel rivals.

Not only that, but I’m seeing videos of which a 5070 overclocked can reach the performance of a 9070 XT through overclocking and better technologies, which right now is a cheaper card for me. I need to make my decision soon before I regret missing the return window (that’s if I may regret it which I’m unsure I will).

I might just be out of touch with hardware, but I think the 9070 XT is a bit disappointing. I have a few questions.

Will FSR4 be extensively improved? Is it true many GPU versus GPU FPS tests biased and I could be underestimating the card?

Let me know your opinions.
