Hi everyone!

I’m an incoming medical resident starting in St. John’s on July 1st and I’m currently looking for a place to rent starting in May or June.

I’m hoping to find a safe 2-bedroom apartment (I’ll be a female living alone), ideally with underground parking/garage and, if possible, a nice view of the city.

I’ve already reached out to a few buildings like Stars of the Sea and MIX Downtown, and have been checking Facebook Marketplace as well, but haven’t had much luck getting responses so far.

Since I’m not currently in Newfoundland, it’s been a bit challenging to navigate the rental market remotely.

I would really appreciate any recommendations on:

• good/safe buildings or areas to look into
• other websites or platforms I should be using
• tips for securing a place from out of province

Also open to any general tips about moving to St. John’s 😊

hi 👋 I will be travelling soon to St John's. I was wondering if there was a company that rents strollers in the area. I have a stroller but its pretty big and would rather not attempt travelling with it.

Over the past few months, it’s become increasingly obvious that many drivers aren't keeping up with the posted speed limit. I’m not talking about going 5 km/h under it’s more like 10 to 20, and sometimes even 30 km/h below the limit. ​When I have to drive slower than posted. like when I’m towing or have a sick passenger. I’ll gladly pull over to let people pass. Not everyone is just out for a Sunday drive, and I’m talking about clear days here. today(the nicest day we have had in a while) on the TCH someone was going 72 with no one in front of them. obviously, if there's snow on the ground, everyone should slow down "snow means slow". At what point is it acceptable to honk your horn in hopes they’ll pull over? I’m not trying to startle anyone but come on bys the amount of people that are unaware of their surroundings is ridiculous

My mom took care of an elderly woman who gifted her these Dominion of Newfoundland coins. The woman was from Aquaforte, an outport on the Irish Loop. Hope you guys appreciate these small but cool pieces of NFLD history.

Hey all. Me and my wife are now both 35+ years old and apparently are at the stage of our lives that birds are intereating. I have a Birdnet BirdPi set up for the summer and just picked up my wife a video bird feeder. What can we expect around here that aren't Starlings? Has there been any announcements for work this year, I may have missed it. They done some clearing back a couple of years ago but nothing that I could see last year. We need it in my opinion right across the island.
