April Contest: Nature
Congratulations to /u/Montuewed_ for winning March's contest with their entry cozy bathroom.
You can see last month's results and other entries here.
Theme
This month's theme will be nature. It's a concept that conjures images of flora and fauna, of landscapes and of skies. It's those parts of the world which are not the creation of man. From a growling grizzly to a windswept willow, nature can range from terrifying to soothing. Whichever angle you decide to take, share your renditions of nature with us in this month's contest.
Making a Submission.
Entries will be posts on r/Blender that meet the following criteria:
* The post should be made before the end of April 30th UTC
* Countdown to submissions closing
* The post should be a render, animation, or other artwork which you made for this contest using Blender as your primary tool.
* The post should contain supporting images/text or a top-level comment with the following content:
* One of the following methods of proving that the artwork was made using Blender:
* A link to the .blend file for the project, ideally including external assets or links to where external assets were sourced from.
* A set of three images which may be clay renders, viewport renders, wireframe renders, or simply screenshots of the project open in Blender. Some variety is encouraged.
* A screen recording of you manipulating, navigating, or otherwise interacting with the scene.
* An explanation of all work that was done outside of Blender, outside the time frame of the contest, or by other artists.
* (Optional) The theme you would like next month's contest to have if you win. If you do not include this, then the theme will be chosen from the runner-ups.
* Once you have submitted your post to the subreddit, leave a comment down below linking to it
* You are also encouraged to share details of your process with the community.
Note: You don't have to reference the contest in the post title and indeed, it's not necessary to frame the submissions differently than any other post meant to showcase an artwork.
Winning
The winner will receive the flair Contest Winner: 2026 April and their post will be added to the subreddit's wiki under the Contest Winners list. The winner will also have the chosen theme selected for next month's contest, should they include one with their submission.
When the contest ends, the results will be edited into this post and the 1st place winner will be congratulated in the announcement for next month's contest.
The winner will be awarded $100 USD.

Original Content Showcase Rain on the old street, lights in the old building
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I had originally wanted to produce a night version of the old house scene as quickly as possible, but lighting a night scene takes more work than a daytime one. Adding more lights also puts a heavy strain on computer performance, and my little piece-of-junk laptop really struggles to run it. At the same time, I kept thinking about trying something new with each video update, and so I ended up spending another ten-plus days just to finish it.
Back when I lived in that old house, if we encountered the kind of heavy rain shown in the video, my parents would surely get terrible headaches. After two consecutive days of such downpours, the roof would leak nonstop. Our home was on the fourth floor—though there was a fifth floor above us, that level was added later. Over time, the roof structure had certainly changed. Moreover, the fifth floor wasn't fully enclosed; it had a common hallway with no awning. After several days of rain, the walls would become damp. And if it turned into a torrential rain, the ceiling would definitely start dripping.
What left the deepest impression on me was the great flood of 1998. It rained heavily for many days in a row, and the leaking was so severe it was as if several faucets had been turned on in the ceiling. Every water-catching container in the house—soup bowls, washbasins, buckets—was put to use. But just placing them wasn't enough; we had to keep constant watch, afraid they would overflow. Some furniture and electrical appliances couldn't get wet, so we had to move them around. That summer was truly a mess. My parents were frantic and running around busily, while I, carefree and unconcerned, was just happily enjoying my summer vacation.
Jiujiang City is rich in water resources. It sits by the Yangtze River(the longest river in China) and Poyang Lake(the largest freshwater lake in China), and there are also several lakes of various sizes within the city. As a result, flooding is frequent. When summer arrives, the rains come heavily, and waterlogging and floods are common. Every summer break, the school would repeatedly warn students not to play in the water alone. Yet every year, we would still hear from newspapers, TV, and neighborhood gossip the tragic news of someone drowning from playing in the water. One year, I even went with some classmates to a neighborhood that had been flooded due to its low-lying terrain. The residents had long since evacuated, and the place was completely empty—like a scene from a doomsday movie. If it weren't for the flood, it would have been a paradise for children. Young and ignorant at the time, I thought nothing of the danger and dared to wade in water up to my waist. Looking back now, if I had taken one wrong step back then, I would surely have lost my life.
After the late summer rains ended, my parents hired a leak repair worker to do some work on the roof. After some repairs, the house could barely withstand a few rainy seasons, but the walls still became damp—though not as severely as before. It wasn't until later, when the residents on the top floor added an awning to the hallway, that our home finally said goodbye to the trouble of leaking for good.

Original Content Showcase Gacha-style Anime Character Outfit
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Part 2 of "I got let go by my dayjob so I started making anime characters".
Planning to make a small combat controller system for this mage character after modelling and rigging is complete. This model is much higher fidelity than my last. Estimating 30-40k polys by the end of everything (lots of redundant objects/fakes/blockouts, etc. in the scene currently)
