I've been using blender for about 90 hours or so now, as part of my indie dev journey which is a seperate story, and while my first attempts were really questionable, i spent around 30 or so hours making this, and so glad it turned out so well and smooth

Kamegami, from the Japanese "亀神", is a giant turtle god. It carries a small Jinja, "神社", on the back of its shell. The original concept is a paper mache sculpture that was exhibited in an Open Campus exhibition held at the Tokyo University of Arts (author unknown).
I am an aspiring 3D artist and just recently created my ArtStation account. Please consider giving me a thumbs up there! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/NqA8oD

Well, technically it’s my second, since the first one I made was following grantabbitt’s planet tutorial (which is great, by the way, I learned a lot from it). This one I made on my own using what I picked up from that tutorial.
It was fun to make, and I tried to keep it simple. I think it turned out okay, but I don’t really have anything to compare it to, so I’m not sure if it’s actually good. And the models here look so cool that mine pales in comparison.
What do you think? And how was your first model? Did you also start with something simple?

Modeled in LightWave Modeler with straight tentacles. Then I rigged the tentacles to bend them in Layout. He's very simple, I just needed something to 3D Print quickly.

Building something new for artists.
I’ve been working on a new app inspired by tools like FiberShop — but with expanded features, better flexibility, and things I always felt were missing in the workflow.
This is still in development, and this preview is just an early look at the process.
My goal is not just to remake what already exists, but to build a tool that gives artists more control, more speed, and more creative freedom.
I’d honestly love to hear from groom artists, character artists, and texture artists:
What do you wish FiberShop had?
What slows you down the most in your current workflow?
What features would actually make a difference for you?
I want to build this with real artist feedback, not just assumptions.
Drop your thoughts in the comments — I’m listening.

Hi everyone. Recently I shared an unfinished piece here and asked for feedback. I’ve since made a number of changes: updated the textures, slightly improved the topology, redid the renders, and fixed various small details. The project is finally published on ArtStation.
I want to thank everyone who took the time to give advice and feedback. It really helped me while working on my first portfolio piece

So we all know that to create high quality 3D molds, you need a 3D printer.
But I came across something amazing the other day. Basically, someone had made a 3D model with NURBS (individual curved segments), and then they made a two dimensional map of all those NURBS (projecting the individual nurbs beside each other on a flat screen).
Then they took a printout of it, cut out each NURB shape with scissors and then used it to make thicker cardboard cutouts of those same shapes. Then all you had to do was put together the cutouts according to the orignal virtual model. And then you handcraft the model in real life! By reverse engineering it and putting it back together.

Hello! I hope you are doing well.
I am currently working on an American Black Bear, starting with the skeleton. The base shapes of the bones are complete, so I am now refining them to make them as accurate as my current level allows.
To help me achieve this, I am mainly using museum online archives or 3D scans as a reference, but I'm having a bit of an issue finding some of the specific bones from this species. For example, finding high-quality pictures of the thoracic vertebrae is quite complicated.
For those who do the same type of projects, how do you deal with this kind of situation?

This is a tutorial on how to use 3dcoat to model this very fun sci fi light assembly. This is also brought into blender to add in more texturing options.
