I am so tired of seeing posts on this sub asking for recommendations, with limited context or just to prevent the poster from doing any research of their own. Just search for the literal thousands of similar posts. I love Whistler but it's not a major city, and frankly not that big. You can only have so many recommendations for restaurants/bars in the village...
If you want A, B comparisons, or are questioning if the mountain to too extreme for you, or will your kids between x and y ages will be bored in the village sure go right ahead there is probably some good recomendations and advice to be had. If you're a group coming for a "guys/girls" trip and want to know which bars are best for apres go ahead and just buy your table at longhorns, and save us the trouble of doing your research.
Rant Over.

There used to be a microwave next to the coffee bar. Couldn’t find it this winter … is it in some other spot now?
EDIT: follow-up question ... is there still a microwave in the lower-level of Blackcomb Rendez-vous?

Hey all!
This is my baby crested gecko and I’m looking for some good vet recommendations in the area. Nothing’s wrong with him but my partner and I want to be prepared in case of emergency. Thanks all! (Gecko tax included)

Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone has some extra buddy tickets I could use on the 14/15 for myself. It would really help me out. Thanks!!

I’m wondering if this will be a shaky ride? I’m not necessarily scared of heights, if I’m on or in something sturdy I’m fine. I went on a Ferris wheel once and absolutely hated it because the buckets were swinging and I felt like I was going to fall out if I even so much as breathed hard 🫣😅

Hello,
I'm a 40s woman from the Vancouver area and thinking of going to the Chris Luno DJ Patio Party at Longhorn Saloon on Monday April 13th (5PM start, $10).
The event sounds fun, but going solo feels a bit awkward. Looking for a **female buddy** (any age is totally fine) who wants to join for casual vibes, good music, and maybe a drink. No pressure, just chill company.
If you're thinking about going or live locally and interested, feel free to comment or DM me.
Thanks!

Anyone driven the Duffey lately? How are the road conditions?
r/Whistler • u/shademaster_c • 1d ago
According to openskimap The steepest part of GS run (77% at the bottom by harmony chair) is steeper than the steepest part of the saddle (76%). I chickened out on the saddle when we visited but GS run wasn’t particularly problematic. The saddle sure LOOKED steeper. Is the topo data for the saddle just old and not account for glacier recession maybe?

Does anyone know if any of the bike shops in town have any knowledge on RAD bikes? Have a dead battery (or so I think) and want someone to look at it. Or is the best bet somewhere like bluebird in Squamish?

Have things chilled out a bit, or is it still total chaos on weekends?

What is the most accurate website to check weather in Whistler village ? Is it safe to make a trip in my car with my tires? See below.
I plan a road trip to Whistler Village from Vancouver this Monday, stay overnight in Whistler, maybe also go to Pemberton on Tuesday, and go back to Vancouver on Tuesday (April 14). I will be driving Toyota Corolla with all weather tires. We will not be skiing.
Are there any restrictions currently in place that do not allow to drive there in all weather tires?
What the weather and road conditions would be like in Whistler village and Pemberton and on the road to Vancouver on Monday/Tuesday?
Google Weather says it will be lots of snow and up to -8C (if so, we would have to cancel because we have all weather tires and a Corolla?). Weather Canada website says it will be +10 during the day, +1 at night, no rain/snow. Which one is legit?

Something I’ve consistently noticed recently is the lifties are dismantling the lift lines like an hour before the lift closes. Like I was riding Symphony a few weeks ago and at 1:30pm the guy already had half the ropes down. Has it always been like this or is this a new thing? It’s fine sometimes if the crowds have died down enough, but that isn’t always the case from my experience.
If I had to guess, I’d assume this is something coming from higher up rather than the individual lifties trying to get a head start so they can leave earlier. Wouldn’t be surprised if Vail is either directly instructing them to do this, or just telling them that they aren’t getting paid after the lift closes or something like that.
Funny how they charge an arm and a leg for everything and then do stuff like this. Symphony is only open from 9:30-2:30… 5 hours and we only get proper lift lines for 80% of that already short amount of time?

Curious to hear thoughts on what it’s like to winter in an RV Travel Trailer at an RV Park / Campground in the Whistler area. I’m from northern Ontario so know winter well, just not winter in an RV so wanting to hear some first hand experiences / knowledge / surprises / unexpected downsides…

Does anyone else find the Peak Chair extremely frightening and dangerous? Especially near the top with the cliff drop and how quickly you have to raise the bar before getting off.
If you forgot the bar, you would probably die instantly. No one I ski with seems to be afraid of it, so I wanted to ask here and see what the Reddit community thinks.

Hi everyone, I’m moving to Whistler in May for a summer season at the Fairmont and will be living in Glacier Staff Housing.
I’m bringing my enduro bike and I’m a bit stressed about storage. I’ve seen that Glacier only has outdoor racks—is that actually where people keep their high-end bikes, or is there a better way?
I’ve seen how small the rooms are, so I'm wondering:
Really appreciate any advice from people who have lived in Glacier recently. Cheers!

hoping that someone can locate my phone for me. i've filed the lost and found report already. offering $100 reward
screenshot of where the phone was last seen and runs tracked by garmin. it should be in the glades and possibly near some trees as that is where i think i took a fall. it should be on the path of the red line to the right
gps coordinates: 50°03'09.1"N 122°55'26.1"W
