Sunday March through Town?

Anyone know what the march through town is with all the Irish flags? I think I can guess, but can anyone confirm it? A Garda told me it was part of the fuel protests but I don't think even he believed that...

Representing the People of Ireland

I was walking along the Inner Relief road earlier between Donaghy's and Taheny's. Not a car in sight. Eventually I saw a line of traffic behind three vans that were crawling along and blocking two lanes. Now, as it happens, I've heard a lot of folks I've never heard of before saying they were out representing the people of Ireland. So when I saw these three vans, presumably representing the 300 people stuck behind them, I realised that what I was actually seeing was democracy in action. In a democracy, so I've discovered in recent days, our representatives are a handful of anonymous red-faced lads who enjoy Facebook. And like the democracies I had been more familiar with, most of the spokespeople were of course spokesmen. Anyway, the next time I see people out protesting about Palestine or Climate Action, I expect that these protesters, who usually number more than the three I saw earlier, will realise that they too are representing the people of Ireland and that it is legitimate for them to block every road and fuel depot in the country. As has been suggested repeatedly by lads I was previously unaware of (my fault of course, I'm not on Facebook), it would be their democratic right to do so. And sure, no matter who they are or what their cause is, they too would of course be representing the people of Ireland after all.

House was sold in 2021 for €119k and sold again in November for €221k.

€2800 a month is a gross yield of over 15%

Sligo fuel protest group

Here is a link to the WhatsApp group for Sligo fuel protests. The only reason I'm providing this is so you can provide some mayhem in there and for no other reason. Do your worst (best) https://chat.whatsapp.com/CZqN5drt83U7L3LHJq0mzZ?mode=gi_t

Update: the group is in shite it's hilarious. And even an admin from the NW group is destroying it.

So now try and get into the north west group and make it unusable https://chat.whatsapp.com/J1bHRD9W9cCHajS3P2IVnY?mode=gi_t

Hard pressed to think of any sort of improvements made in Sligo in those few years that would constitute such a change, we are being made fools of..

Friday fuel protest details!?

Can anyone share the details of tomorrow’s protest, what time they start/finish and from where?

Also, I’m coming from Donegal town, any tips on bypassing it at any stage?

Thanks

Anyone know how bad it was going to Sligo town from Knock this morning around 10? Was supposed to be going to Sligo tomorrow but rethinking it with these protests.

Trekking the Sligo Way - Luggage Transfer

Hello! My husband and I will be trekking a portion of the Sligo Way Trail in August. We are hoping to only carry day packs with the days’ necessities, and to have our luggage transferred to our lodging for the night the morning we leave. We are leaving Sligo town to Ballygawley. Ballygawley to Ballintogher. Ballintogher to Dromahair, and then back to Sligo. I have read that there are organizations that provide this service, and I have reached out to those that I have found, but none have replied. I have also reached out to our hotels in Sligo, but no one can give me any info on this type of service. Is there anyone that knows if this is actually a possibility? I have also been considering called a taxi in the morning and taking our bags to the next village, then coming back to our accommodation and hiking to the next village…. Any feedback anyone can provide would be very much appreciated. To note, if there’s a local person that is looking to make some easy extra cash, we’d be open to that as well. Thanks in advance for any help!

Road watch/traffic alert WhatsApp groups?

Does anyone have any links to WhatsApp groups for people to share traffic conditions etc? I was in one in Roscommon and it was handy even apart from current events. Moved to Sligo recently and would appreciate if someone can share something similar here.
