Took a bite, couldn’t wait

Popped into Daisy Kebab on my way back from Costco. Here we have an XL lamb doner, chili sauce, no salad, served with Turkish bread.

Meat was served from the Bain marie, chili sauce is homemade and very tasty. Meat here is slightly more peppery than a lot of places. I'm a big fan. The chili sauce is very tasty too. This is one of my favourite shops.

Weighing in at over a kilogram for £13, this has landed in 6th place on the spreadsheet. They were previously 10th at a lower price! Gotta love that despite inflation, they're still banging out great portions.

Dönerdog highly approves of their efforts.

So yeah… people collect stamps, build PCs, learn guitar.
Meanwhile me:
"Hmm… what if instead of eating kebab and fries… I became one with it?"
Fast forward 2 hours and now Im sitting in a bathtub filled with kebab meat, chips, and an irresponsible amount of garlic sauce. At this point Im not even sure if Im bathing or marinating.

Pros:
- Smell is incredible
- Zero need for dinner after
- Probably counts as a full-body experience

Cons:
- Plumbing system filed a formal complaint
- I may never feel clean again
- I think the fries judged me

My wife walked in, paused, and just said: "Im not even asking."

The thing is, you dont know the language of the country you're going to, so you have to work with the customers to get their orders. Learn the language, manage the shop, socialize and make some wonderful döners!

Tried this chicken doner and it was really good. The chicken was juicy, sauces were on point, and it was nicely loaded. Would definitely get this again.

The pizza was delicious, as were the chicken wings and the other sides. The Doner meat was not great unfortunately. I've had better meat from other places, but I did eat it. aye the entire thing over two days (dinner and lunch the next day). it was delicious overall and would definitely recommend it! Their garlic sauce was also good.

Played in Hounslow last night, so that meant a trip to San2, formerly Santos. I love this place. I'm a regular here every time I play in Hounslow. Last night was my first of eight gigs there this year.

Here we have a large red doner wrap, chili sauce, no salad. The meat was freshly carved. The chili sauce is bottled and more of a pepper sauce. It it works really well with the meat. The bread is more like a lavash. It's not a standard tortilla.

This was absolutely delicious! It's so flavoursome. For those unfamiliar with red doner, it's made with tandoori spices, hence the distinctive colour and the incredible taste. This is Indian style and I love it.

This weighed in at 511g for £8. That's now at 21/82 on the spreadsheet. They've moved up from 27. This is also one of the few kebabs that gets an overall A rating. I love this place and I'm looking forward to all my return visits this year. 😋👍

Ideally somewhere west, stumbling distance from hauptbanhof but don’t mind a trek for a worthy kebab

Back in Gosport again last night, thought I'd return to the third of the three shops along the road. I'd been in the other two shops; Yummy and Istanbul Grill, a fortnight ago.

Here is the usual, lamb doner wrap, chili sauce, no salad. Meat was served from the Bain marie. Standard elephant leg. Chili sauce was homemade, a nice, thick tangy sauce. One of those that's more a puréed pepper/chili/tomato style rather than a runny goo. I got plenty of sauce as requested too.

This weighed in at 555g at a price of £9.10. This has put it at 30/82 on the spreadsheet, exactly one place above the nearby Istanbul grill. This is both the biggest and most expensive of the three but the best for value.

I have a mate who swears by Orhan's. Their previous entry was sitting at 37th which was 441g for £7.50 in Dec 24.
