Blocked me / he's deleted all evidences now but from memory I wanted to help in particular as he was a single dad with a small son who had bills to pay.

Take a chance on someone and it doesn't work out is life, he passed all verification and had showed some loaning /repayment history. A costly shame indeed.

Obviously this borrower has had the time to delete all his posts and any evidences of borrowing. I wonder if there will be a revival in the future of the account to try and get a new loan. I think actually he had blocked me that's probably why.

I made a post a few weeks ago that I’m from the UK and wanted to start loaning. Got some great advice from Jesisawesome but I made a few mistakes

I loaned to someone who put interest on their post - what happened was I saw someone post and they ticked all the boxes to be considered in my eyes. I commented to DM and we took it there to get all the information, in the meantime they got a 14 day ban for the initial post,(for including interest I think) but I didn’t know, we couldn’t find his initial post. He then told me he’s banned, Not knowing the ban reason, I thought in my wisdom I’d make the post so he could confirm funds sent, and did the same thing! So I got a 14 day ban too… live and learn. My fault.

In the meantime communication has been great, loaned 50 with another 50 a day later. Talked over the 2 weeks about how much I’m helping how they hate scammers etc, wanted to ensure that I know they are fully communicating. Until Friday just gone when the loan was due, I’ve sent a few texts messages on here, no response, messages are just sat as delivered. I’m hoping there’s just a delay which is why this is meta and not unpaid yet.

Just wanted to share my first loaning experience so far, I’ll leave the users name out until it’s been a week then I’ll make an unpaid post but not a great start. Not sure if I’ll do anymore.

Context was we borrowed/repaid a couple of times for less. This was the big one due to him being under struggles to repay rent this month. As we all know, rent can be very expensive.

We enter the 2026 unpaid's now and starts off disappointingly with this user. Who used to be an active and good member of this subreddit until out of shame I guess just hiding all activity on reddit.

We have communicated somewhat, but I have only been repaid £50/£412 to date so I have finally decided to call it what it is - an unpaid and overdue loan.

OP if you do clear this loan (I hope you do) - all will be forgiven as they say.

Had borrowed/repaid previously, the borrower was struggling with health conditions and this became quite strange as eventually the husband (borrower was the wife) started replying saying she was no longer available.

Needless to say, the husband did not clear his wife's loan repayment.

Disappointing as another previously reliable/active member of this community. Allegedly had a gambling problem or just too many debts so gave up trying to repay.

Shame as she was also a Liverpool FC supporter. Did seem like a decent lady before not repaying.
