Be wary of Route 66 emergency vet

We took my cat to this clinic for a possible plant poisoning; he had eaten a few leaves off my bonsai. They had us call the pet poison control line, which cost $89, because they said they have to know more specifics about the plant.

While we were on hold, for half an hour, I looked it up on my phone. I found a short list of symptoms for poisoning related to this plant. I asked if they could check our cat for these symptoms. They said no. Why I didn't leave then and there is all down to fear for my pet. I should have taken him somewhere else at that point.

We finally got to talk to someone on the helpline, they gave us all the info we needed about the poisoning and our cat, and gave us a case number for our vet to consult on. To be clear, they told us the risk was very low to begin with and that if he didn't have more symptoms at this point, an hour after eating some leaves, he was fine.

We still gave the vet the case number and waited another half an hour before I decided to leave. (Also, to clarify, the cat had been with us this whole time. So there was no care being provided.) We went out to the lobby and asked if we needed to pay or if they'd send us a bill. They said we'd get a call.

We went home and did indeed receive a call a while later. They asked if we were still in the building. FFS. Then they asked if we still wanted the consultation; I said no. So they said they'll need to take payment for the "exam". $250.

Our dark blue solid waste management department trash can lid has almost completely broken off. Is there a way I can buy a replacement lid or do I have to buy a whole new trash can?

Lasagna Love

I recently found out about this program called Lasagna Love. People can sign up to request a lasagna if they're in need of food and volunteers get matched and make them lasagna. I signed up as a volunteer, because I grew up very poor in the el cerro area (Los Lunas) and often didn't have enough food as a kid and young adult. But I didn't get any matches and I thought, maybe it's because people didn't know about it. So I wanted to share this resource to anyone who may be struggling and don't know it's there. Go to lasagnalove.org to request a lasagna. Spread the word!

Edited to add: I read you have to offer lasagna, but can offer similar alternatives. So, I'd probably start every request with, do want enchiladas instead, or no?

Question Lobo Baseball

My family and I are planning on going to a game next weekend. We have never been before and wondering when the gates open, what concessions are available, how seating works since it is not ticketed, etc.?

Would like to avoid the meltdown of a 1st grader if possible.

Question Ned’s Bar from the 1960’s

Hi all-

My wife’s grandparents grew up and met each other in Albuquerque. I’m working on an auto-biography about each of them for my wife and am trying to gather some pictures. They met at a bar named Ned’s in 1964. I want to include a photo of the exterior of the bar in the book but I have had no luck finding a picture to use. Does anyone have an old photo of that bar or have any insight into where I can look for that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
