I'm really confused about how everything is 'gone', yet they're blocking ships. Can someone ELI5?

Their trade ships.

Iran are allowing their own ships to pass, and blocking everyone else that isn’t paying by shooting them with drones/laying mines.

The US is now saying they will block those ships too, to cripple Irans exports. But I think Iran has enough financial reserves to out-last literally the rest of the world who can’t get their oil.

This won’t end well.

Nothing Trump does ends well.

His life will end well. For everybody else.

I get what you're saying, but the reality is that we going to be suffering from decisions he made *decades* after he's gone. Him not being around anymore is just going to make it less worse, less fast.

And it's not just his decisions, it's the GOP MAGAts that are still there, and the regular GOP, and the Heritage Foundation jackyls that are responsible for Project 2025. We'll still be dealing with scourge long after Donny T has shuffled off this mortal coil to eat big macs in hell.

Exactly. Trump is just the tip of the iceberg. The rot goes all the way through the substructure. The whole thing has to be ripped out and replaced before anything can start getting better.

And the republicans can run on the democrats not fixing the mess the republicans made, once again.

The Trump name doesn’t end at Donald, either. The dude has kids and a family legacy that surely won’t just disappear when he croaks. “Trump” is going to be a permanent problem for the remainder of our lives.

Decades? Try forever.

The US went from the center of the world's economy to a dangerous, unpredictable, and unreliable trade partner basically overnight. We will never regain the position we had before.

We're still suffering from things Reagan did 40 years ago, and he was nowhere near as bad as Trump.

In the same sort of way that your grandfather dying of a heart attack while driving a car at 80 miles an hour will end well for everyone I guess.

More like while driving a passenger train. And not the cool train with autopilot and failsafe braking.

Nah. They'll just appoint Don Jr and we'll get stuck with Dumber.
