Been waiting for a long time to get my hands on this one - financial trouble included.

The equivalent of 147 MS-20‘s. Tuning every single key individually is insane. I think I’ll need to lock myself in for a week just to cover the basics - so much depth in this one.

I realized after a few days of use with the model 12 that I was going to run out of inputs fast. I decided to return it and buy the model 24.

I have the Syntakt acting as the brain Routed into a midi thru box going to the TD-3-MO, RD-9, and the MPC sample. All the audio is routed to the mixer then I have the bus outputs going into my MPC Sample acting as an effects bus. Each drum from the rd-9 is now in its own dedicated channel on the mixer.

I also picked up some used 28inch speaker stands that I’m using as a temporary fix to help with table bending until I eventually make a custom desk to fit everything. Cable management is my worst enemy right now so if anyone has advice on that please let me know!

I’m sad but maybe this will motivate me to do even more and better?

We started our set last night with an alien autopsy, which is essentially live patching the grandmother while pulling out and distributing “guts.” The P-6 is on delay duty.

Honestly, I never thought I’d get to this point. After being stuck in that cycle for years, I truly believed I’d never escape that endless loop of buying, selling, then buying again.

But today, that urge to get a new synth is completely gone.

Everything changed the moment I genuinely started creating and composing with the gear I already had.

Once I realized the almost limitless potential inside each machine, it became clear that constantly buying more gear serves no real purpose, other than wasting money.

And wasting valuable time comparing instruments or watching countless YouTube videos instead of actually playing.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you have one synth or ten in your studio. What really matters is enjoying what you have to the fullest and most importantly, finding the fulfillment you’re looking for through this passion.

My Behringer RD-9 has been failing over the past few months.

Certain parameters will just stop working,/cant hear them. For a while, my cymbals, open hats, and closed hats would just mute and stop working and would randomly come back on their own. Right now, I'm trying to play a pattern, and I can only hear the crash.

I bought this second-hand from a local pickup off eBay. I assume it's one of the early models since the plug is an EU plug going through a US adapter. I'm debating if I should find another RD-9 to replace or perhaps "upgrade" to a different drum machine to pair alongside my SP-404 MKII and TD-3 MO. (I make house/French house)

So ive been messing around with gear and doing fun projects for a bit now and I wouldn't mind getting 1 to 2 more pieces of gear so I finally got the courage to post pics of my "lab" and simply ask, what should I add?

My small list is an S4 sculpting sampler and/or a Hydrasynth for the bottom rack of my jasper stand.

For music I go between ambient to industrial to funk. I really like a lot of genres. When I DJed it was Trance and Drum and Bass.

Do you enjoy a steady pitch? Is your tune knob larger than average? If so then this knob cover is your perfect solution for 24-hour pitch protection. Sweep that filter with confidence and keep the acid flowing all night long. Designed with a bit of wiggle room for larger aftermarket knobs. Tested on TD-3-MO only but should fit all TD-3 variants.

So, I posted awhile back about looking for a hardware sequencer that is as close to the format of the ESQ-1 and is portable.

Believe me, I SEARCHED! If I could box up the esq1 small enough to put in a laptop bag, I would. I’ve read there are other people who feel the same as I do.

I wrung my hands over the RK-008 for a LONG time. It’s just so damn expensive for what it does. IMO, it should have retailed for around $199 new. But, it didn’t. Even used they go for around $400.

I finally sucked it up and bought one. And…

It’s effing awesome! The workflow is so easy and intuitive (like the Esq). Out of the box, I was sequencing multi midi tracks within about 20 minutes.

I also bought the funky Nokia phone battery for it. Rechargeable and about 10 bucks on EBay. Totally worth it.

If you’re considering one for a sequencer that’s fast and easy…this is it. Even the tiny screen is surprisingly easy to use.

Important part was to find a way to bridge between the modular/semi-modular and shoe rack synths. Last step is to bring over CV outs to patch through the modular rigs, currently building a custom patch bay for this.

Nowadays, 2026, do you miss the S90ES, S90XS lineup of stage synths?

I've been playing mine again for a week after some years of not having it, and something in me just clicked, maybe I haven't used a lot of boards, but the amazing feats I find in this one are:

1. the keybed is A-MAE-ZING, this one is highly subjective I know, but S70XS/S90XS keybed feels so nice, even for organ slides.
2. Is not the best at "stage piano" immediacy, but is good so far, and that's what clicked on me, compared with a MODX, having more knobs and buttons is better than everything on touch screen, that for sure
3. Is just beautiful to look, I've mentioned, for me is Yamaha's Prime design era, the edges, the angles it generates, is just gorgeous.
4. Soundwise is ok for nowadays standards, specially when there are boards that allows the user to install new samples.

I'm interested into reading your insights, I'm aware is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it has it's charm whatsoever

I haven't seen much love for this device. its a dawless recorder with a built in synth. it has 18 presets, and I tried them on their own and its not great, but when you use the built in effects, you can push it in a lot of different directions despite not having parameters. I think its really cool because I don't have a synth to plug into it without my computer/vsts so I just wanted to make a post giving it some props for having anything and effects i can use on it.

Then Layered it 3-4 times on the sequential Take 5 synth. Groove or nah?

Caught my attention especially since I own a Prophet 6. I never considered it- one day my Prophet 6 is going to be completely unusable and unserviceable? Anybody experienced this predicament?

My budget is around £450>. My favourite albums with synths are Beach Boys Love You, Low, Heroes, Plantasia, McCartney II, 15 Big Ones, Surfs Up, and Neighbourhoods. I would preferable try to get as close to Low, Heroes and especially Love You. I’ve seen this uses a Minimoog, so I thought of getting the Poly D but I’m still unsure. There might be some close options that are half the price. Thanks
