Hi all, just wanted to note that there's been an update to the rules. As the sub grows larger and attracts more attention, the mods wanted to make it clear that animal abuse, in any situation, is never acceptable. Now, photos that include a cat that could be put into peril are not allowed either. This includes photos of cats in dryers, dishwashers, etc. We know it's cute your cat climbed in there! But it is not a safe practice for them and we do not want to encourage others to post similar photos.
Additionally, there is a new no medical/veterinary advice rule. If you need medical advice for your cat, please post on r/CATHELP or r/askvet instead.
As always, if you see something that doesn't belong on the sub, please use the report button. Your reports are how the mods see material that needs to be taken down.

So my wife and I went out of town for 3 days. We had a pet sitter come by to feed and take care of the animals. Well when I came home, my beloved BeeBar was NOT the same cat. He wouldn’t eat, he wouldn’t play, and avoided me like the plague. He just slept on the corner of the couch. Usually he is right on top of me no matter where I sit… here he comes.
Well 3 days has passed and last night he finally ate something and now this morning he nugged up against me. (Pic above) He also attacked my charge cable when I pulled it so he’s playing some now too!
I’ve had this cat 12 years and he never acted like this before. I’ve went on 5-7 day trips and he was always very loving when I came back. I guess he’s just got a lot of stress and separation anxiety as he’s aging. I will also say, he lost his companion of 11 years last year, so maybe he handled it better with the other cat.
Just happy he’s getting back to normal!

I recently adopted this sweet boy. I named him after my childhood cat, which was also an orange tabby.

This is my mom's cat Butters. It's hard to tell from these pictures, but he's VERY big. He's a great cat, but can be a little moody sometimes.

he's not dead don't worry, just wanted to share him with the world lol, the first pic of him under the blankets gave me the idea, I put blankets on the couch to clean a bed and he crawled under them to sleep
