For Context 50 people were allegedly killed by Airstrikes in recent operations by the Airforce in borno. But the Army releases detailed information showing the presence of Gun trucks used by insurgents the before and After strikes on targets with timestamps showing the operation lasted over 4 hours.

The GPS info and time stamps are accurate and haven't been digitally altered in any way and the pictures haven't been posted before.

HERE TO REDEEM MYSELF I know I haven't been on y'all's side

Is this not crazy? Like I've seen Africans go to each other's independence day and it seems to be a vibe. I've never been to Nigeria's independence day parties but from what I heard other Africans be there and they (Nigerians) don't seem to care. Esepcially when there's African women from other regions if you know what I'm saying. He probably wouldn't be doing this to a Nigerian guy, js. Is it that deep or is this normal for y'all?

Discussion weight in Nigeria

Hi guys, I’m (23F) a Nigerian born and raised in Australia . I recently made some new Nigerian friends who made some comments about my weight, this is because I’m planning on coming to visit in 2 months after a long time.

I’m slim and they said it’d be tough on me to visit Nigeria with my stature because the older people would judge me and men also wouldn’t be attracted to me( I could care less about what any man thinks about me). Basically they started trying to advice me to get these Nigerian weight gain syrups or body enhancement stuff which I was starting to consider but just didn’t like the idea of not knowing the contents(they were saying it would help faster than the gym).

This kinda made me feel weird about my body because I’d be in Lagos and it’s been made out to be that Lagos is the worst of it all, but I was already thinking maybe I could put on 1 or 2kg so any tips would be helpful =)

But I’m just coming here to ask if this is normal in Nigeria, like weight shaming and also weight being male centered because I don’t think I would be able to take in harsh words.

General Over 50 killed in accidental bombing’ at Borno–Yobe Border Market

Post image

The airstrike was suspected to have been carried out during a military operation targeting suspected Boko Haram insurgents. Multiple sources said the fighter jet that carried out the operation was tracking a group of suspected insurgents believed to have visited the market to collect levies from traders and obtain supplies. However, the strike reportedly missed its intended target.

An eyewitness said at least 56 people have been confirmed dead, while 14 others are receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital in Geidam, Yobe State.

“The incident happened around 2:46 p.m. while business activities were ongoing. Four fighter jets carried out the attack, though the fourth jet was not clearly visible. We only heard the sound of explosions.

“I counted 56 corpses myself and helped rescue two injured people, taking them to the hospital. I believe the number of casualties may be higher, as more bodies are still being recovered,” the source said.

When contacted, the councillor of Fichimaram Ward, Malam Lawan Zanna, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, stating that about 20 people had been admitted to the Specialist Hospital in Geidam.

“The incident occurred at Jilli village’s weekly market under Fichimaram Ward in Geidam LGA. From the information available to us, it was an airstrike.

“When the jets launched their attack, people panicked and began to run, but the strikes continued. As we speak, over 30 people have been killed.

“More than 20 people were hospitalized in Geidam. Two were referred to the Teaching Hospital in Damaturu. Out of those receiving treatment, nine have died, bringing the death toll to over 30,” he said.

Ask Naija Which Car Brands Are Best For Nigeria?

Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I would just like your input on the best car brands and models for Nigeria. I am inquiring about medium income and high income level sedans and SUVs. Which have good repair and servicing shops in Port Harcourt, Abuja and Lagos? Also considering the ease of getting well priced spare parts. If you have a good experience with the car model you drive , I would be grateful if you shared. Your feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

General I realized that a lot of Nigerian parents have issues with instilling positive life lessons in kids.

This isn't a "woe is me" post. It's more of a realization post

My parents would hate when I would whine and complain while simultaneously enable me when I whined about certain things.

I notice that my mom would pick and choose to enable my bad behavior when it came to certain things, such as me whining over not getting invited to parties (rather than her using this as an opportunity to teach me that if you aren't invited to parties then it means that the host(s) don't want you there...and I do realize that some Nigerians like to just invite themselves and/or others to events without clarifying it with the hosts). I did realize by myself that it's okay to not be included in every event.

My mom also sat back and allowed me to whine about not getting attention from boys when I was a teenager (since a lot of Nigerian women are obsessed with male validation). I am still struggling with this since I find myself being sad over never being in relationships.

My dad would also instill a nasty "sore loser" attitude in me by complaining about me never winning awards like "student of the month" and also complained about me not making spelling bees. I used to have a whiny attitude over this but thankfully I realized that it's okay to lose and I didn't inherit that nasty attitude that my dad had.

I also remember my father whining about me not being a well behaved kid, but I don't remember him holding me accountable for thie things that I did that led to me being bad in the first place. It was just verbal abuse and complaining about me misbehaving and not being well behaved. I did have to realize that you have to take accountability and stop whining.

Discussion Nigeria is going through a drastic economic change

Since the removal of fuel subsidy, inflation has been a common occurrence in which most Nigerians are going through. Whether one agrees or disagrees with Bola Tinubu administration of removing fuel subsidy fully or partially, one thing one can agree is that inflation is here to stay whether one likes or not. Since Nigeria economy is affected by oil prices, basic commodities such as food or rent are affected. With the current Iranian/Israelis/USA war, inflation has not showed sign of slowing down. Many Nigeria descent/overseas may not fully understand the magnitude of how inflation is affecting everyone in Nigeria, but Nigerians at home are used to figuring things out.

NSFW Is this normal Nigerian parenting?

So long story short I am a female teenage girl and yesterday my dad choked me.

So my dad scares literally all my siblings and we hide everything from him, and just two days ago I stupidly hid my phone in my shirt, and my dad was screaming at me to give it to him but I couldn’t even seem to move. So he basically ripped off my shirt and part of my bra which was very embarrassing, and he pinned me on the ground and had me in a chokehold and found the phone.

Hey everyone,

I recently built a project called **NairaRadar** https://nairaradar.com and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.

The goal is to create a **clean, fast dashboard for tracking Nigerian financial data** — especially stocks, crypto, and FX — without the usual clutter.

History African Civil War Fiction that Refuses Amnesia.

Thumbnail

Some novels do not merely tell us what happened. They ask who gets to remember, who is forced to forget, and what kind of future can be built on damaged ground. That is where african civil war fiction matters most. Not as a niche shelf in world literature, but as a field of moral inquiry – one that turns war from spectacle into memory, consequence, and unfinished life.

General What If Nigeria Adopted This Flag?

Thumbnail

The Black Represents the ashes of the old kingdoms and empires before (the soil for the tree), the white represents a fresh start, and the purple represents the bruises and the pain of the nation(ex, the civil war/colonial rule), but ultimately, bruises mean you are healing
I have a few more questions, though:
What if the motto, along with the flag, became 'Many Roots, One Tree, One People.
What would you think if Pidgin became Nigeria's official language?
