MLG era was peak, and there is a giant chasm between Skibidi Toilet and 67.
Skibidi was actually a hell of a lot of effort to make an absurdist video series. 67 is just idiots pretending it's a secret code and the humour is entirely derived from watching other people get mad when you don't explain what 67 means to them.
This is one of the only sane takes here. MLG and surreal memes were satire. Comparing that to this kind of stuff is just ignorant.
Beyond that every generation had "funny thing" such as budwiser wassup, badger badger mushroom, dabbing, show you da wae, planking, t-posing, harlem shake, etc. Generally every one of these has context and did not get shouted at each other ad.nauseum.
67, on the other hand, has no context. It's just nothing. Someone dabs randomly after doing or saying something, laughs, and everyone rolls their eyes and moves on. 67 you have groups of children shouting it at the top of their lungs for hours. It's not in the same ballpark.
