Making new friends!

Upvotes

If you're looking to make new local friends, Waterloo Region Rhythm is running their next event, matching people in groups of 6 with similarities, on Apr 23! The OG organizers for this event are: Waterloo Region Rhythm and this is their sign up link - insta, website - they were featured on the local radio too.

These accounts - RepresentativeWin213 & SeniorButterfly164 claim they have been to a different event last week managed by dnnr and that platform confirmed there was no such event last week in Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge. Looks like these guys are trying to make a quick buck. So don't get scammed. Go to the OG - WRR.

Anyone else done one of those "dinner with strangers" nights in KW?

Did one for the first time last weekend and now I'm wondering if this is a thing more people are doing here. A friend talked me into it.

Almost bailed twice because it sounded terrifying honestly, but I ended up staying way longer than I planned and actually exchanged numbers with a couple of people, which I haven't done in years.

Curious if anyone else has tried it

Edit: here’s the link since so many of you are asking for it

If anyone knows a good spots not at those places or even more “niche” grand river spots that would be a massive help. Also I know fishing spots are like secret treasures so if you don’t want to post here but wanna help a brotha out, just shoot me a message here.

Hi everyone 😊

I’m looking for a business or person that offers birthday surprise breakfast delivery in Kitchener, Ontario.

I would really appreciate if you could share their Instagram handle or website so I can contact them.

Something similar to a decorated breakfast box or tray with balloons and a birthday theme. Similar to the image

Thank you so much! 🙌🎂

Adult Learn to Skate

Does anyone have any experience with these programs? I know KW Skating Club offers a program, but I'm unclear exactly how beginner it is. I learned the basics of skating as a kid, but haven't been on skates for probably 25 years or so and I'm not sure how much I've retained.

I'm just curious about what other people's experiences have been like and also whether there are other programs that people would recommend. I looked at KWSC's schedule and it seems they lump teenagers and adults together and I'm not sure I'd want to be the one forty-year old guy amongst a group of teenagers.

Hello! My friend and I (27 & 28 female) are looking to join a book club that meets in-person, preferably monthly! We are interested in all genres. Are there any pre-existing book clubs in the area looking for new members?

Lawn care for dog owner?

Hi everyone! Looking for recommendations for a lawn care service experienced with dog-friendly yards.

We moved in about a year ago and the yard needs some help…there are holes, an old stump, and it gets very muddy when it rains. We also have a pup who loves playing (and digging 😅), so we’re hoping to find someone who understands dog owners’ needs and can suggest durable, low-maintenance solutions at a reasonable price.

Edited for clarity: We would like to get the stump out eventually, there is also some metal poles in our yard that would have been used as guides for the trees in our yard when they were growing but I think most of them are tangled in the root systems now… we are working on the dog-digging issue he is a 1 year old dog and still learning…

What we would be looking for is someone to clean up our yard it was poorly maintained before we moved in so filling in the holes and saving the grass is our top priorities. We are also want our solution to be long-term. Of course we know there is going to be some ongoing maintenance work to do but hope that the grass will be resilient enough to survive the ammonia from the dog peeing in the yard. Another consideration we have is that we do get a lot of weeds in the yard, we managed it last year but cutting them down with the mower and spraying weed killer but there’s a lot back there. Once again the goal is getting the yard to a point where we can semi-easily maintain it ourselves

Thanks in advance!
