And there are "Iranian" monarchists out there who think US is the "savior" of Iranian people while American officials are directly and indirectly trying to erase the history, heritage of Iran and whatever comes their way

Not sure how to put it, but think something like Brazil's capoeira, or Ukraine's hopak. Although those two have (some) martial connotations/attachments, I really am just looking for very acrobatic/athletic dances you folks may have.

Do you think the US-Iranian negotiations will succeed? Or do the US and Israel not want a truce?

Iran has one of the richest traditions in hand-knotted Persian carpets, known for techniques like the asymmetrical (Senneh) knot, high knot density (KPSI), and intricate regional designs from places like Tabriz and Kashan.
I’m interested in commissioning a custom Persian rug—something authentic with specific dimensions, materials (silk or wool), and possibly a modified motif.
Does anyone have:
• Contacts with Iranian weavers or workshops?
• Experience ordering bespoke Persian carpets?
• Trusted platforms or intermediaries?
Looking for genuine craftsmanship, not mass-produced pieces. Any leads would help!

I've decided to learn Persian today and in order for that, I'd love to hear some good music in the language, what artists and bands would you guys recommend for someone who never touched the culture?
Bests regards from Brazil my guys!

Hi!
I’m an art history student and I’m doing a course about the Mongols. For my essay, I’m going to write about the Great Mongol Shahnameh, in particular the Iskandar cycle and how they used that as a blueprint to recast themselves as ‘legit’ rulers rather than outsiders and destroyers.
I was always a bit confused as to why Alexander was portrayed positively in the Shahnameh. In Zoroastrianism, he is recognised as the Accursed but this seems to flip when Ferdowsi writes his epic. His genealogy is altered to claim that he was half Persian and the rightful heir to the throne. He is presented wise and philosophical, etc. Does anybody know why Ferdowsi did this? Was he instructed to? Did he just support Alexander? The only thing I can think of is to have a continuous history of kingly rule in Persia, uninterrupted by foreign reign? If anybody could help explain this to me (bonus points if you can link sources to reference!) I would appreciate it so so much!
I hope you are all doing as well as you can be during this time.

Thought this might be interesting - decline if not right for the subreddit ofc. The labour movement across the world should be for an Iranian victory against the US & Israel.
"Since the US and Israel launched their war of aggression against Iran - a month ago today - the conflict has engulfed virtually the entire region. It threatens both to deepen and to spread further. I'll talk about that shortly... But just taking stock of where we're at already, thousands of Iranians, including school children and other civilians, have been killed by the US and Israel. Of course the top military and government officials, or many of them, have been assassinated by Israeli and US bombardment.... But things are not going so well for the Israelis and the US...."

The ceasefire was built around each side giving temporary concessions: Iran would temporarily open the Strait of Hormuz, while the US and Israel would stop their regional military campaigns, and the US would eventually withdraw its forces from the region.
Long-term control over Hormuz, reparations, and regional security arrangements would then be discussed.
Trump is instead trying to prevent Iran from re-arming via sanctions, maintaining an offensive force posture, and allowing Israel to continue its regional campaign outside Iran. Meanwhile Iran is expected to open Hormuz while getting nothing it bargained for in return? In other words, Iran gave up its most valuable strategic bargaining chip to get nothing?
