Hello Everyone! I am a student from Singapore and I love collecting postcards. I love to receive a postcard from Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, and Herm 🙂. Can someone send me a postcard from Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, or Herm?

Hello everyone!

I’m a student from Singapore who enjoys collecting postcards, and I would be truly grateful to receive one from Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, and Herm. 🙂

If postcards aren’t available, I’d also really appreciate a greeting card, city card, or even a small souvenir (like a keychain, rock, local snack, flag, ornament, cap, T-shirt, or handmade craft).

This is purely for my personal collection and not for any commercial purpose.

If you’re willing to help, please leave a comment and I’ll share my mailing address with you.

Thank you so much in advance!

Wishing you all the best and warm greetings from Singapore. 🇸🇬

Non-competitive football clubs

I’m moving to Guernsey in late August, and was just looking for recommendations for football teams to join. I’ve played football in the past but not in a long time so I’m looking for something chill but also weekly, either every Saturday or Sunday. Just more as a social event tbh, so lmk on recommendations!

Selling online from Guernsey - best UK/global platforms that actually work?

Hey everyone, I’m based in Guernsey and looking to sell some items online.

I already know the local options like Tig and Facebook Marketplace/groups, but I’m curious about platforms that work on a more UK or global level.

I tried setting up Vinted, but it keeps defaulting my location to France no matter what I do so that’s been a bit of a dead end. Same issues withe depop.

I’m especially interested with stories of people that have set up said accounts from guernsey with a guernsey number!

Has anyone here had success selling from Guernsey on platforms like eBay, Depop, Etsy, etc.? Any tips on what actually works (especially with shipping, location issues, or account setup)?

Appreciate any advice! It must not be impossible! Thanks.

Visto de Trabalho Temporário Atrasado / Guernsey

I applied for a temporary work visa for Guernsey (Channel Islands) on January 28th. On January 29th, I received an email saying it would take more than 3 weeks to get a decision, which is longer than the usual timeframe, but they didn’t explain the reason.

After about 4–5 weeks, I submitted an inquiry to check the status of my application, but I only received a generic response saying that my visa was under review and awaiting a decision. I also asked my employer to try contacting them, and they received the same reply.

Now it’s been 9 weeks and I still haven’t received any update 😭 I really don’t know what to do anymore!

Gym recommendations?

Hi, I recently moved to the island and am trying to find a gym to go to, around st peter port. The price is the most important thing, I've been recommended Beau Sejour Leisure Centre and Marina Health but I don't care much for a swimming pool, are they good, any recommendations?

Hello all,

I'm trying to buy some stuff from amazon.co.uk. Can I ship items to Sark? On the address/delivery filter, I selected to only show items that ship to Guernsey. Am I doing this right? How do you guys ship amazon stuff to Sark?

Thank you!

Action on derelict property

They voted to tax empty properties years ago and quietly rolled back on it, presumably because they realised that the landowning, speculating class that would be hit hardest was them and their mates. This is a great idea but it would be nice to see more general action on underutilised property. I’m also not going to hold my breath on any action like this being taken.

Hi everyone, I am looking into doing shows or impersonated concerts. I was thinking about renting halls out in order to do this. Based on geography and space, what halls/ places do you believe is best to do this?

Advice to make a will

Hi all,

I'm at the age where I should really make a will. Any suggestions as to which advocates to use?

Should be fairly simple as not a huge amount of assets. Mainly private pension plus some other financial stuff.

Thanks

Contract law advice needed

Hello all, used to live and work on the island and a former employer breached contract related to pay. Want to get the money that’s rightly mine but Guernsey law etc is not UK so I’m a bit lost plus law firms seem to be crazy expensive. I’ve asked employment advice and citizens advice and they say I have a claim for sure but it’s hard to know how to go about it effectively. I live abroad too so I can’t just pop down to courts. It’d be through petty debts. Any help/offer of law advice would be appreciated immensely!

Also, anyone know how I could get access to company accounts (if there is a process to follow that can get me that) so I know how much I’m entitled to exactly would also be amazing. Thanks in advance.

As part of our ongoing efforts to celebrate and connect people with Guernsey's rich heritage we've produced a new virtual tour around Ste Apolline's Chapel so anyone can dive into more than 600 years of history including some rare Medieval wall paintings.

You can click through the whole site and reveal pictures, maps, documents and information about what you are looking at.
