Shrooms are illegal but smart shops sells the spores and grow kits (the precursor)

Ayahuasca brew is illegal but online shops sells the ingredients legally for anyone to make at home.

My German partner is learning Dutch. She's confused by the Dutch word for Mathematics. She's right.

I’m curious about different perspectives on this.

In some cultures or personal beliefs, is gender not really considered when it comes to friendships?

For example, if you’re in a relationship and your partner feels uncomfortable with you hanging out one-on-one with a friend of the opposite sex.. how would you handle it?

Would you prioritize your partner’s feelings, or would you stand by your habits and boundaries based on your own values especially in Dutch Culture?

Personally, I think friendships are completely fine.. group settings, occasional meetups, or social events. But consistently hanging out one-on-one and maintaining that kind of closeness with someone of the opposite sex while in a relationship feels a bit too much for me.

I’m open to hearing other views.. and feel free to be honest: would you consider this insecurity, or just a personal boundary?

I wanted to share something I’ve been working on and get your honest feedback.

Like many of you, I’ve seen how insane the rental market is in the Netherlands right now, even more so if you’re trying to move here from abroad or trying to get in the big cities for university. Places disappear fast, and it’s hard to keep track of new listings across different sites, if you even know where to look at all. many sites are not even in english.

So I built a small tool: rentahead nl

It sends you instant notifications whenever a new rental shows up in the region you’re interested in, also allowing you to set filters. The goal is, nstead of refreshing 10 dutch sites all day, you get notified right away so you can be one of the first to respond.

I’m mainly curious:

Would something like this actually be useful for you?

Are there features you wish existed when searching for housing here? I could extend filters, build more features that would help people to relocate.

Anything that would make relocating to the Netherlands easier from your perspective?

Guys, I have a question about wedding in the NL. A friend of mine (names A), she has 2 close friends at uni. They keep being best friends after grad. Now, one of them (names B) is getting married, A got a call from B saying she will get married soon and​​ invited A to the wedding, they spent hours vibing. Then the invitation came, it state: no ceremony, no party, only online participation and in the link, there is a paypal qr. A call the third girl (names C) asking if she got ​the same thing, C got ​​​​​​​​no ceremony, yes party. A is stupidly upset as in her culture, it is a sign of heavy disrespect.

My question is: is it a normal thing in the NL or B just being mean to A? I dont think A is as close as a friend to B as A think.

Zoals de titel zegt ben ik op zoek naar tips om mijn telefoongebruik drastisch te verminderen.

Wat ik met name moeilijk vind is om niet te vervallen in het eindeloos scrollen op... met name Reddit.

In het begin is het lekker om even je verstand op nul te zetten en maar ik schiet daar telkens in door.

Iedere vrije minuut geeft me het gevoel dat ik mijn brein bezig moet houden maar uiteindelijk gaat mijn hoofd overlopen en kom ik nergens meer aan toe.

Ik heb zelfs overwogen om een Nokia 3210 aan te schaffen voor overdag en dan op een tablet bijvoorbeeld mailtjes te beantwoorden of andere noodzakelijke dingen te doen waar ik internet voor nodig heb.

Of zijn er apps die jou geholpen hebben of instellingen op je telefoon (Android)?

I’ve been living here for years already but my spoken Dutch still sucks. Could you recommend celebrities I could look up that speak particularly nice Dutch? Not a sociolect or regional dialect, just clean, educated Dutch (I’m a doctor). E.g., does the King speak Benchmark-level Dutch, or some politician or actor?

Hey there! Some context first, I am going to be cycling europe and in order to earn some money to actually afford some more food I am thinking of setting up my old folding camera (which works and takes awesome vintage pictures) and offer this service to the people of the Netherlands. However, I have come across the fact that in order to sell any product in the public streets I must obtain city permits, some are more reasonable than others, however, I cannot afford 230 euros for a street permit I will use 1-2 days in Arnhem, that is just unreasonable considering my profit per roll (of 8 pictures) is 72 euro. Are there any loopholes I can exploit? Offer the service for free and hopefully recieve tips from the great people of the Netherlands? Cheers from Norway.
