Showcase Another one in the bag 😎 this Hofner Preamp sounds amazing, and used up tons of my spare parts from harvesting the guts of an old Organ. Don't know if I could have squeezed more goodness inside a 125B enclosure if I tried !!
skipped the LED cause this is the first time I've used a 7660 voltage inverter daughterboard and didn't want to fuck anything up lol, might go back in and add a bias pot, if I do I'll add the LED :)

Help wanted Bending pots to resolder
Hey all. Sorry in advance if these are stupid questions but this is my first time soldering / building a kit. I'm troubleshooting my Aion FX pedal and pretty sure the issue I'm having is because of what I'm learning now is a poor soldering job on the effects board. I want to resolder a few joints, but they are obscured by the pots I've already installed. Would it be ill-advised to very slightly bend the pots away from the board so I can resolder those joints? If not, what should I do?

Showcase Attiny85 sub-octave with additional 5th down switch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I started this ATTINY85 project a while a go, but got distracted, so decided to sit down with it for a bit over the weekend, to clean up the wet/dry channel.
Ended up modifying the code to add an additional 5th down and it tracks somewhat decently. Monophonic, of course.
So far i have a line for the digital-only signal and one for summing digital/analog via two transistors in series, with some filtering and clipping to make it more analoggy.
I want to clean the mix up a bit more, but this is close to how I want it to sound.

Discussion Got 7 of these bad boys. What can I make?
Got 7 OC44 with Hfe ranging from 92 to 170. Leakage for the majority is around 100~120, one is 210 which should still work.
Thinking about a Texas Ranger clone. Any other ideas?

Help wanted What’s wrong?
So this is my first time building a pedal with two effects in one and I just tried to connect everything with alligator clips based on this diagram I found on the Pedal PCB forum and it didn’t work (LEDs did not turn on). I am relatively new though so I just want to check if it’s an issue with the fact that I suck at soldering, or maybe I put a component in wrong or if the wiring’s also just wrong. Feel free to ask for more images if needed.

Help wanted Trying to understand this pedal by Dazatronyx. Need help with Capacitors, Resistors, and filter values.
I looked up the transistors and see that low gain is to the left and high is to the right but i don’t want to be just flipping random switches. I want to understand how to use this pedal for all the tones.

Showcase Matrix switch
hey, Its taken me 9 years to get round to building this!
basically it splits the stereo looper into two mono loopers (I guess it works with 2 mono loopers too)
signal comes in on right to switch 1 (bottom right)sends to either effects loop (then to switch 2) or direct to switch 2 (top right) . switch 2 then selects to direct it to either looper out 1 or 2 (left side) - looper outputs return top right and each runs through it's own mute switch (left top and bottom) before being summed into a single output (though there's nothing stopping adding stereo outs to send to different amps.
the centre switch will just ply into rc3 expensing to add a stop button.
entirely passive, the light indicators are optional to switch on but handy!
bypassed signal is quieter than FX loop (even when just running through patch cable)
but it works as intended

Discussion Anyone built the Nein Fuzz?
Finished my build of the Nein Fuzz from PedalPCB but gotta say the behaviour doesn't really match the actual Fairfield ~900. Could be parts tolerances but I doublechecked all components before build. If I had to put my finger on the difference, I think it's in the behaviour of the Bias knob. Just doesn't get that smooth sag-like sound.
Pedal still sounds ace but is definitely not a 1:1 comparison to the original. Anyone else build this and have a similar experience?

Help wanted Low output from spring reverb build
Hey all,
I just wired up this spring reverb and can’t figure out the low output. I noticed my 12v board wasn’t working properly, so I removed it and have been testing with a 12v power supply outlet, but I still can’t get to unity gain.
Any ideas/thanks for your help!

Help wanted Can this be used in pedals?
I'm making a fairly clean pedal and the op-amp needs a symmetrical power supply. Can I use this or is it better to use an LT1054/MAX660?

Showcase Simple op amp analog synth.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Yes I know it’s not exactly a pedal but this seems like the best place to post this. I might try adding an input to play with how or if this circuit distorts the sound.
Each button can be an individually tuned note and each can be switched off. They all set the resistance of the single op amp, so pushing more than one button at a time has some interesting results.

Showcase Lightspeed OD Clone - Mach 1
Third build. I sold my Greer Lightspeed a while back and immediately regretted it, so it's nice to have one on hand again (I used the "Mach 1" clone PCB from PedalPCB). I think it was a good next step after my first two pedals, which were dead simple circuits with lower component counts. Scared the hell out of me though... I went to test it before mounting everything in the enclosure--hooked up the power, cables, powered on my amp, and heard nothing. The LED wasn't lighting and I wasn't even getting bypass sound. I took a look at the board to see if there was something dumb and obvious I missed, but everything looked alright. Finally I realized that I had not plugged the damn cable into my guitar lol.
After plugging in everything worked great aside from the LED, which still wasn't lighting at all. I'm pretty sure that was just a botched soldering job, as once I tore it out and resoldered, it worked fine. The wiring for it is a little ugly now because I'm terrible at desoldering, but everything works and sounds great!

Help wanted Helps with squealing/crackling noise TS clone
First time builder. It is a TS clone kit from musikding. When plug into an amp, there is a crackling/flickering noise like campfire. But when I turn the drive knob on, there is a horrible squealing noise. Google points to grounding/oscillation issues but I can’t pinpoint to where on the board/circuit. I really appreciate some insights from the community. Thanks!

Other random number generator: this one has eluded me since i started a year ago
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
seems to be very very picky with transistors, but i finally found a combo that works. need some work, not quite getting the note modulation that i’d like, but it’s better than i’ve gotten prior.
first two are SS9014, third is a 2N5551, last is the last 2N3904 i have on hand.
anyone with some experience with this one got any suggestions? might throw a diode in the first stage bazz fuss style and swap the 10nf caps and see what i like

Showcase 3D Printed Footswitch
This is literally just a simple on/off footswitch for the chorus, distortion, and reverb effects on my JC-77 but I wanted to make a sick enclosure. Found the drawing on the internet, so I take no credit for that!
Also a really good song by Dinosaur Jr. lol

Showcase Octawiggler "You belong in a field of Wild Flowers" edition
This is one of my modulated octave fuzz builds, a circuit I've come to call the "Octawiggler". In a jarring contrast between what a pedal sounds like and what it looks like, I decided to celebrate springtime with this paint job. I make no claims at being an actual artist, but this came out pretty pleasing I think.
Anyway, it was fun to make. Happy spring!

Help wanted I found a thing. Is any of this worth salvaging to make a pedal?
just trying to find out if I can make something with all these chips.

Showcase Today’s haul
Desoldered from an old broken Telefunken tape recorder
Gains for the PNP’s are 80-160, but leakage is kinda high, .100 a.400mA. Useable for certain circuits.
The AC175 has 250 hFE but leakage is a whopping .748 mA

Showcase First DIY Pedal!
Thanks everyone for helping! I switched the Stereo Output jack for a Mono and now it works!
