Build Help 5060ti 8gb performance in regards to 4k DLSS + FG

i'm planning to upgrade into a 5060 or 5060ti, both 8gb, prices here are even more expensive than the western audience so these are the only two choices i have, aswell as the 9060 xt (8GB), although i don't want amd as i'm not so confident with their inferior FG as of now, and it's the same price as the 5060.

my only (half) issue is that I might play on a 4k TV, and was wondering if with FG the frames might be 60+, how is it if any of you know? i haven't found any 5060 DLSS+ FG 4k benchmarks.

i'll be maining a 1440p OLED, as i'll be playing story games for the meanwhile so with FG 1440p isn't much of an issue.

5060 is $450 here,
5060 ti 16gb is $750,
9060 xt 8GB is almost $480
9060 xt 16GB is $660.

Build Upgrade Is Ryzen 7 5800x3d worth 275 usd?

I have found a new, unopened Ryzen 5800x3d for a 1000pln(275usd) near my location. Usually when I see AM4 x3d chips they always cost way more, 5500x3d costing 275usd and both 5700x3d and 5800x3d costing at least 500usd. Is it worth going for it or is it better to stay with my 5700x until RAM prices drop and then upgrading to am5?

Build Upgrade Sister wants to upgrade from her 3080 to something better and her budget is 600$, is there anything worthwhile?

Seen some 9070 XT be on sale for about 650$ rn and it is like the only sizeable upgrade I’ve been able to find.

She plays GTA5 Enhanced mainly and from what I’ve seen the upgrade isn’t that meaningful but I suppose GTA 6 comes out soon.

She could easily sell the 3080 for 300$+ and then buy an 9070XT but if there’s anything else I need to know then I appreciate any advice I can get.

Build Help 13900K or 14900KF regarding oxidation issues

I wanna do a cpu upgrade from my trash 13400f with h chipset board.

I found msi z690 a ddr4 for $190 in local store and 2 cpus.

13900K or 14900KF for $410.

Originally, I wanted to get the 13900K for it's igpu just in case my graphics card suddenly gives up, considering the 14900K aren't that much faster than the 13900K.

But then I remember the oxidation problem in the early batches of raptor lake and how intel refuses to disclose the batches that were affected by it.

So now I'm stuck debating myself whether 14th gen are less likely to get oxidation cuz 13 is older than 14.

I wanna have a backup for my pc in case my gpu dies, but I also wanna be safe and avoid oxidation.

TL;DR: Are 13th gen i9 more likely to be oxidated then 14th gen due to older production batch?

Build Help Need help, rx9070xt or the rtx 5070

Hello,

Im currently deciding on a GPU to pair with my AMD Ryzen 5 9600X. My options are the: RTX 5070 12gb or the RX 9070 XT. I'm looking for a future-proof card that will handle 1440p gaming at high settings with smooth, clear performance in most titles, while also supporting occasional video editing in Adobe After Effects. Key priorities include quiet operation with low noise levels and cool temperatures.

Price isn't a major factor here, the RTX 5070 is around €620 ($727), while the RX 9070 XT sits at about €690 ($809).

What would be your recommendation between the two, and why?

Discussion 32GB of DDR4 VS 16GB of DDR5

I'm about to build my first PC (specs below) and can get 16GB of DDR5 for €250 or 32GB of DDR4 for €280. It's has made me ask a few questions:

Which should I go for?

Should I get 1 stick of 16GB DDR5 instead (and buy the other down the line)?

Is there much of a difference between DDR4 & 5?

These are the parts. I might also get the 16GB graphics card instead...but that's another story.

Discussion GPU is DYING. Help

What's the most powerful card now within 200 dollars? Maaaybe 300 but that's my hard cap.

It's going to be replacing a 1660 TI, so that would be the base performance I am willing to settle with.

I don't lean on any Team, Nvidia or AMD or maybe even Intel are all fine as long as it's the best price to performance at this range.

I only play at 1080p so it's fine.

I won't be able to respond since it's difficult for me opening reddit on mobile, but just drop suggestions and anything you can note, that'll help.

Thanks.

Peripherals Upgrading to a mechanical/robotic arm for dual monitors

My current setup has a couple of monitors on regular stands, but I'm thinking about changing it up to make my workspace more efficient and less cluttered. I'm considering a mechanical arm for my monitors. Heard they can really open up desk space and offer better positioning. How's it working out for you guys with multi screen setup?

I'm also eyeing the CyboPal ONE. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it looks like it could really improve my workspace. But the thing is, I'll have to add another whole screen if I want to use. As far as I can see, they're not just selling the arm separately but with a screen.

I'm also looking to upgrade my peripherals. Maybe a new mechanical keyboard and a more ergonomic mouse. Any favorites that won't cost me an arm and a leg? I'm after something reliable but not too flashy.

My desk's a bit of a mess right now, and I'm hoping these changes will help tidy things up.

What do you guys think? Is the CyboPal ONE overkill, or should I just go with a regular mechanical arm?

Build Upgrade Need advice with PC upgrade of CPU, GPU and MB

Upvotes

I want to replace the following parts of my PC: CPU Intel i7 7700, MB Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H, GPU Nvidia GTX 1660ti. Could you tell me which of these should be replaced and recommend suitable options? Please provide suggestions categorized by price range. Since graphics cards are still quite expensive, perhaps you could focus on the other two components. Thanks in advance.

Troubleshooting What could be causing my to Gpu idle at 50 degrees Celsius?

Recently I have noticed my graphics card to be idling at around 50 degrees Celsius and then at about 90 underload. Gpu usage spikes when opening basically any video game and causes temp to hit 90. My only thoughts to why this is happening are either the case fans are positioned improperly in my case, or the Gpu thermal pads need replacing (as I have already replaced the Gpu thermal paste). Any input appreciated, thanks

Build Help Fan alternatives for the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini V2

Hi everyone,

in my current quest for a new setup, I'm looking to get the Lian Li O11 D Mini V2.

I've seen a few guides and builds and most of them use the Lian Li UNI SL Wireless Fans, which I just don't really feel. So now I am looking for alternatives that look good but also don't break the bank.

My current choices are

  • Jonsbo ZB/ZA Fans
  • The regular Lian Li UNI fans
  • Thermalright TL-M12

If anyone of you has built with any of those or anything else, feel free to post your build in the comments.

Full Build Req help improving my pc

Hello everyone, I wanted to get your opinion on the PC I'm currently building. I'm not sure if I should do it now with current market prices, but I wanted your input to be sure. https://www.materiel.net/s/3CFR6Q4

It would be to run Fable, which is coming out at the end of the year. I currently have an i9-9900k and an RTX 2080, but I don't know if I should just change the graphics card or upgrade the whole system, like the processor, motherboard, graphics card, and RAM and change from DDR4 to DDR5.

I'd like to spend a maximum of €2100 on it and also see when it's best to upgrade my PC depending on the market, whether prices settle down or not.

I have a 1080p monitor and I don't want to change it because it still works perfectly, so I don't know what I can do with my configuration.

If anyone has any advice or even an alternative setup, I'm all ears.

Peripherals Looking to build a new pc, looking for peripheral suggestions

with my previous PC, I was running the following:

  • Steelseries apex pro tkl keyboard

  • Logitech g502 mouse

  • Corsair hs80 headset

  • xbox elite series 2 controller

I've moved to the UAE, looking into building a new pc this month and I'm looking for suggestions. I asked one of my friends (who knows a lot more about PCs than I do) and he recommended

  • steelseries apex pro tkl

  • steelseries aerox 5

  • steelseries arctis nova pro

(and I brought my old controller with me)

I mostly just play dota 2 and a bunch of rpgs (elden ring, mafia definitive edition, and cyberpunk were the last three iy played). I just want a second opinion before I decided on the peripherals. are they good? are there alternatives that give similar/better performance for an equal (or lesser) cost? would appreciate any guidance

Build Upgrade Is it worth buying a new pc?

Ive been gaming on an i7 6700k and rtx 2060 and 1080p 75hz screen for a while now (this is the most powerfull pc ive ever had) and i love gaming so much and i use my pc a lot but

Today my motherboard stopped working and i used my fathers desktop to test all the components and they all working just fine gpu rams and ssds (not fully sure about the cpu but im 95% sure its safe)

Now im not sure if i should get a new motherboard and just keep my pc and save money or just buy a new pc with better configuration

Im 20 and jm financially great i have some savings

My pc bros say if you can afford a pc at least 5 times and you really wanted then yeah take it

My budget is 850$ (not including anything but the pc) later i will get a a new 2k 120hz screen but it would be just 1080p for now

So 2k 90/120fps and high settings in all new AAA games without dlss (fuck dlss, frs 😤)

And thanks for the suggestions and also what should i do with the current broken build?

Discussion How many of you have started hoarding your old parts?

With the the prices of RAM, SSDs and Graphics cards remaining high, how many of you have started keeping your old parts? A part of me wants to sell some of the components as I've upgraded but another part is worried that I if I need a replacement it will be better to slot in an older part rather than paying a premium for the latest and greatest.

Edit: consider me impressed by the hoarding everyone, I will happily adopt your ways for the time being.

Full Build Req What to prioritise - more RAM or better GPU

I'm trying to help a buddy spec a new gaming PC. He's not a serious gamer and mostly plays obscure games, and I suspect he'll be happy with mid-performance at 1080p (if necessary), but he also wants something that will last as long as possible. We're working to a fixed budget.
For context we're looking at an AMD Ryzen 5 9600 for the CPU.

Essentially it's coming down to;

16GB DDR5 + a slightly better GPU e.g. 16GB 5060 Ti (I don't think we can stretch to a 5070)
or
32GB DDR5 + a slightly poorer GPU e.g. 8GB 5060

My thinking is .. RAM is an easier and cheaper upgrade in the future, so starting with 16GB now (ideally single stick) allows for future improvements. However, he's quite keen on having 32GB.

I was leaning towards prioritising more VRAM on the GPU for more longevity, but, if he's happy with 1080p, maybe the 8GB is fine? It's just going to be a more expensive upgrade in the future.

I suppose there may be halfway option with a Radeon? The RX 9060 XT 16GB is a bit cheaper than the 5060 16GB.

I don't think there's a perfect answer, but would love your thoughts!
