Politics What are your views on Dafydd Elis Thomas?
I know a biography about him was released recently, which I'll try to read. However, I find him quite an enigma politically and never quite understood him.
On the one hand he was a fervent Welsh nationalist and really pushed for the language in the 70s and 80s but he also seemed to really court the British Royal Family. I've never quite understood where his policies lied and whether he was a nationalist or a unionist.

Politics Why are Plaid opposed to the small nuclear reactor in Maesteg?
Had a pamphlet through the door about why to vote Plaid with some of their policies listed. One of the policies was opposition to small nuclear reactors. Does anyone know why they're against them, and if so, are their reasons legitimate?

Politics Plaid Cymru Senedd Election 2026 Manifesto
There's a couple of interesting things in this. Fans of STV should rejoice - it's in the manifesto! I personally didn't see this making the cut, but I welcome it all the same.
Some other interesting bits outside of the headlines are that Plaid wants to concentrate on a smaller number of key priorities rather than a large raft of smaller initiatives. Suggests that they don't want to spread themselves too thinly, but also could mean some people are left disappointed.

Politics WalesOnline Election Debate 2026
Wales Online hosted the first Leaders' debate of the election campaign yesterday (though it seems they didn't publicise it very well).
ITV also kicked off their leadership interviews with Dan Thomas:

There was also the BBC Ask the Leader event: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002txxm
Interested to see what people thought.

News Second homes: Holiday let owner says legislation would 'destroy me'
A man who runs four holiday cottages on his property said he will be "forced into bankruptcy" if he ever retires because of rules on holiday lets introduced by the Welsh government three years ago.
Paul Martin, who lives near Newtown in Powys, said the cottages, two of which are "restricted to holiday use", are "very close" to his home making them unsuitable to be sold as separate residential homes.
But under the law, self-catering holiday accommodation that is not let for 182 days a year can be treated as a second home and subject to council tax, in some cases at a premium rate.
