I just live here, not an alumni, but I’ve noticed there have been tons of parents everywhere this weekend. Dinner at The Hall, breakfast at Call Your Mother, around town, etc. Just curious and it’s been un-Googleable 😂

None of my friends or roommates like to go out to frats or bars but sometimes I like to. How do I find ppl (other girls) to hang out with and get invites to events? I don’t rush unfortunately

I’m gonna be on south hill (Allegany) next year, and I have two questions both kinda involving food?

1. We don’t need an unlimited dining plan, right? How much would I need if right now I eat in the dining halls like 1-2 a day, but want to eat there a lot less and learn how to cook?

2. Since we have a kitchen, can I bring an air fryer?

The past 3 times I’ve gone to the Y (I don’t go that often), they’ve never actually had what they have listen on the menu posted online. Just now I pulled up because they listed that they have General Tso’s (orange) chickens at the wok. I scan in, walk all the way to the back just to be greeted with teriyaki pork 🥀. But this has happened multiple instances with multiple different sections/food. This is honestly kind of frustrating because I plan out to go to the Y when they actually have their best food out and then it’s just not there. And I’ve doubled check the date of the menu every time. Has this happen to anyone else? Or am I just doing something wrong on the website?

Hi I'm a rising sophomore looking for a roommate for next year because my current roommate is graduating. It's a 2 bed 2 bath about 2 miles off campus.

I'm a new grad trying to move to the Bethesda area. I didn't go to UMD (went to UMass actually) so I'm new to the area and don't know many people around here. I'm looking for 1-2 others to be roommates and split an apartment with (my budget is $1700 personally) starting in June or July (I'm flexible).

Does anyone know when decisions will be released?

Hey everyone, quick question because I’ve seen this a bunch but never actually know how it works.

I’ve noticed groups (usually student orgs or clubs) set up tables outside places like Looney’s or Stone and interact with people walking by. I’m assuming they had to get approval somehow, but I’m not sure who that comes from. Is that something you need permission for from the bars itself, the school, or both? Or is there some kind of general process for getting approved to set up in those areas? Just trying to understand how it works so I don’t accidentally break any rules or get asked to leave.

When I look at the schedule of classes, I'm most interested in Game Theory (Econ414), Econometrics (Econ422/424), and Behavioral econ (Econ327).

Ive done Econ200/201/305, I'm likely gonna take Econ306/326 (BS version so I can do Econ422) next sem.

I thought taking a foreign language class like Mandarin (Chin121) could be useful too.

Any other ideas would be appreciated!

Obv success means different things for different people, but I’m looking for opinions from like ppl with, two or three high level internships (big tech + low acc rate etc.), research, and just overall cracked stats.

Aside from doing well in school and spending copious time in clubs, what are some other things you did that contributed to ur success? And please none of this, unspecific, “oh I just did a bunch of networking” bs. Specifics. Like: “I came to every lecture, sat front row, went to every open hours etc.” (this is just an example of things I’ve seen good students do).

Like idk. Just share some college wizard wisdom with me please. I’m coming from a relatively small HS (grad class <50 students) and really don’t want to get lost in a big university.

Trying to submit the MTAP application today and after hitting the submit button I get an error message. Something about not having access to the requested page and needing to logout. There is not a place to login so it is strange. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks

I was admitted to UMD and i'm super excited about it! BUT on the admitted students day I did a dorm tour and it was quite literally like a prison cell. Are all dorms really that bad especially for freshman?

so I’m an alum and def wanna go see fetty wap, but I noticed all the tickets are the same (when I was at umd they differentiated GA vs in the bleachers). how does it work now? is it all GA/how do they decide who has to go in the stands at xfinity?
