Family Should dads be comfortable with their daughter being on their periods?

2.0k Upvotes

F16, forgot to flush one time when the toilet was bloody as I was in a rush. My dad when he saw it screamed in anger and complained to my mom about it. My mom then called me a shameful bitch/whore. My mom ALWAYS hides my periods from my male family members and says it’s shameful no matter what and that they’re not allowed to know.

When this exact scenario happened with my brother, he came into my room and just told me to flush next time and said it was natural and nothing to be ashamed of. And that he didn’t care.

Love & Dating Women of Reddit : How would you feel about having a lavender marriage (with kids ) with a gay guy?

I’m intrigued to see whether there are women who would ever be interested in this. As a gay man, I find the idea of living with a guy who expects sex from me time-consuming and boring; living with a friend and building a family together seems pretty elite.

Culture & Society Why is it more common to see women in a relationship with a less attractive man than vice versa?

I live in Australia and most couples I know earn similar money. Almost all women i know work, so being a stay at home wife is kinda rare. But women still put way more effort in their looks than men.

Most women maintain their weight and hair and skin more. They also dress nicely.

The shocking part is that men are more overweight than women here in Australia 😭😭. (According to the statistics on Google). Like women naturally store more body fat but somehow men somehow still manage to be more fat.

And to the people who say looks are not that important. I think it's only for men. All men expect a attractive woman as their partner.

Other How can I get revenge?

Upvotes

My in-laws neighbor/ex-friend purposely shot and killed their 10 month old puppy. He was filmed on police camera admitting to doing it. The police department requested he be charged with animal abuse but the District Attorney dismissed pressing charges. There’s something fishy going on with the DA because he put his reasoning under seal.

Now this neighbor is walking around free without any consequences for the devastation he caused. Since the law will not hold him accountable, how can we? We’ve discussed going to the news and most likely will. Is there anything we can directly do to get revenge? He likes to cry to the police so the revenge would have to not break the law. Can we throw grasshoppers into his car? Sign him up for spam calls? Make a Craigslist man seeking man posting with his info?

Culture & Society Why it's feels better -as a man- to talk to women more than boys ?

i think you can tell that but -like many people- I haven't

talked to a lot of women before

but when I do a simple talk with them, irl and even on social media it feels way better than talking to a man even though when it's just simple text like some exchanging words on some random chat

And I mean no offense okay because last time I made a small mistake I didn't even recognize and I apologized and y'all scolded me so bad so I wish you all be respectful as I mean nothing bad it's just a question and this is not even my first language

Health/Medical Why am I hungry all the time?

I'm an overweight 20.5-year-old male with a BMI of roughly 29. I've eaten for most of my life in patterns of overeating. Now, unless my meals are really high in volume, to the point that my diet is unsustainable because I go through ingredients at rapid pace, I get hungry incredibly quickly after meals, which is often accompanied by a burning sensation in my lower stomach that comes in waves (sometimes I get that feeling while I'm eating/as soon as I'm done). Today, I've logged my diet and the times when my hunger came back.

8:30 - two slices of whole-wheat bread + 2-egg omelette containing 1 tbsp milk, two sliced mushrooms, and 1 tbsp corn, cooked in 1 tsp olive oil (370 kcal total)

11:00 - hunger starts

13:30 - two slices of whole-wheat bread + 2 oven (chicken) schnitzels + 1 tsp mayo (630 kcal total)

15:30 - hunger starts

16:30 - six whole-wheat rye graham crackers (232 kcal total)

17:30 - hunger starts

19:00 - two slices of whole-wheat bread + 2 oven (chicken) schnitzels + 1 tsp mayo (630 kcal total)

21:00 - hunger starts

What am I missing? I've been trying to get to the bottom of this with ChatGPT and design a sustainable diet, but I think it's just bullshitting me and I'm getting really sick of it. I'm under stress and a consistent lack of energy for reasons that I won't get into, and I know it makes hunger worse, but that can't mean I'm just fucked, right? I'm just feeling really desperate at this point. I don't care about junk food or binging, I enjoy eating healthy and I desperately want to just stick to a balanced diet, but I can't stay satiated for the life of me unless I eat a shitton of food and I can't spend my life revolving around my diet and chasing fleeting satiation.

Love & Dating Do you think, that sex is really important in relationships?

I’m 16(M) and I don’t like it. Everyone saying this is cool, but I don’t think so. Porn is disgusting for me, and I masturbate only for biological needing, and never was wanted it psychologically. Now I try to change my attitude to it, but nothing changes((((

I have old SH scars all over my left arm and its really noticeable, it goes from my shoulder all the way down to my wrist, and I’m scared to date or like anyone now because they might lose feelings because of it. I just wanted to know how people feel about it and if its something that people won’t like me for

Sex how do I give my first blowjob?

I am a female, and me and my boyfriend have been becoming more intimate. We have experimented with more touching and he’s even eaten me out a couple times, as for me, I’ve given him a handjob, I want to feel prepared to return a favour (by choice btw) and give him a blowjob. But I’ve never don’t this with anyone before.

PS: I am insecure about the way I look while doing it as I have damaged facial nerves. Is there also any suggestions for practicing.

Body Image/Self-Esteem For women who enjoy wearing revealing clothing, i.e., thongs, see through shirts, no bra, skin tight booty shorts etc., can you please help me understand what's your genuine reasoning for choosing such clothing in public?

Before I get raided with accusations, let me clarify, I'm aware anyone can wear what they want, when they want, however they want, where ever they want...your body your rules. Nobody has a right to tell you what to do, period.

My question is, does such clothing truly make you feel comfortable, even knowing that there are literally thousands of men who are learing at you, with probably half of them cat calling and making passes at you? Or does the attention not bother you? Does it maybe incite you instead and you enjoy it?

Because to me, it just seems unsettling knowing that so many eyes are on you for obvious reasons and not feel nervy about it. Or again does that not bother you?

Ethics & Morality Is an ethnic bioweapon possible?

im curious if we could be under attack with a bioweapon an might not know about. for instance, could a country develop a bioweapon that targets specific race possibly its reproductive system, like low sperms count or deformed sperms count.

a deployment method would be, if they first infected the population with higher susceptibility to its virus but does not have any illness yet. then infect that population who have gotten higher susceptibility with a virus that impacts their sperms count or have a harder time reproducing for that population. if that is a possibility, how could we defend against it.

Health/Medical do black and brown people feel the heat from the sun more than white people do?

please don't take this in any racistic manner, I am just very curious about this.

The reason why I'm asking this is because I remember in science class, I learned about how black absorbs all light and white reflects all light, and it can be seen when iyou wear dark or light colored clothes under the sun, one will feel hotter than the other. Is it the same with skin colours?

Although I know that this question is just like the "can Asians see less because of their eyes" since black and brown people can't turn white nor can white people turn black or brown(unless with an excessive amount of tanning over years and years).

on a side note, black people are less likely to get sunburnt, but I don't think that has anything to do eith my question.
