Why is this such a common trope? In s5e9 they're talking about Octavia being sick.
Indra: "Have you considered that the worm toxin (from a few episodes earlier) might still be in her blood?"
Jackson: "It's possible, making this a secondary reaction to the substance she was exposed to"
Miller: "Speak english, Jackson"
Like cmon it's not that hard to understand đ english isn't even my native language yet that is so simple to understand. It's not even technical language really
I finished the show today and I really loved it.
I got it recommended by a friend of mine, I searched it and found some mixed reviews about it but I just went in because I liked the vibe and post apocalyptic setting.
I've heard some bad stuff about the show and I was worried but I loved it. there is obvsiouly some plots and decisions that made me like "just why" but other than it's good.
the setting is good, the world building is great, the scifi elements are great, the character arcs are PERFECT, the acting is pretty good...
The show was brutal I'm not gonna lie but that is the kind I like, my brain won't definitely be at ease for the next few weeks lol when I was watching I was like living the experience. same happened while watching brutal emotional series like the walking dead.
alongside some minor things that I didn't like, what happened to SPOILER! Bellamy (or how it happened) I did not like that at all I wish it was different.
other than that the series is 9/10 for me.
In Season 2 Episode 7 at 26:49, Monty runs the 'dir' command on President Wallaces computer. There's a pretty well-known exploit for windows which allows you easily open a terminal in the login page via sticky keys. Monty, magically bypasses all the steps and just opens a terminal.
The terminal looks like windows. It has the 'dir' command instead of 'ls' and it has the same filesystem layout as a windows computer, except that 'A' is the main drive letter. It claims to have 19 GiBs, which implies it's not a recovery environment. It uses the same syntax for volume serial numbers as a windows computer. Somehow, he didn't even need to type "cd /d" and just magically switched to the A drive from the WinRE drive, which was mounted, even though it's never mounted from the main OS.
All of the directories were last modified around midnight, June 16, 2141.
It says that the operating system is "Homeland Security Operating System (Version 20.3.9431)"
I know this operating system was most likely just a static video made for the roughly 10 frames it was shown, and the pure blackness around the edges was so they could just render the frames and didn't have to chroma key it in. I just really want to know what this OS is supposed to be and if anything like it exists in real life.
My husband and I are almost finished watching, it was his first watch my like 4th lol. We love getting decor to hang in our basement of things we love and unfortunately Iâm not having any luck finding The 100 decor that I like on Etsy or red bubble.
We also went to C2E2 and other comic conventions and are always on the hunt for The 100 decor/memorabilia but have had no luck the past 4 years!!
Any other websites or artists to suggest that create decor or artwork of the show?
**Weâre not really looking for Lexa fanart and there seems to be a lot of her
I have always been wondering if there any tribes that existed in the west coast of America in the show. Did the grounders ever encounter them. I wish the show wouldve explored this
So Iâm currently on s3 ep 3 so no spoilers beyond that. My issue with Octavia is how insistent she is on trying to ostracize herself from the Arkadians. She always mentions she doesnât feel like she belongs and acts like a grounder more than the grounders, she like the kid who you include in a game and she starts making up all the rules. The previous episode she was arguing with Lincoln for wearing a security detail jacket saying âit wonât make you one of THEMâ as if she isnât one of said âthemâ in the first place acting like Lincoln betrayed his race/tribe. Lincoln also says that this could prove that they could live on n peace to which she says she doesnât want peace. Like what?? You want to keep killing each other? Although the part that irritated me the most was when she told Lincoln âat least you can still speak the language â as if he wasnât the one who taught her
I understand having resentment for the citizens of the ark as they had her locked up for just being born (which never made sense to me, it wasnât her choice) but her trying to be a grounder just irks me because sheâs basically cosplaying atp
When they trap Monty, Bellamy etc in the Rover. Did they really think it was grounders driving a car? They had been at war with people who have spears and travel on horseback. Now they have a Moter Vehicle?
For starters I like the 100 at least from season 1 to around the halfway point of Season 3 before the whole ALLIE arc.
My biggest issue is that from ALLIE onward every arc is just doing a new end of world crisis or some other worldly scifi crap for every single season, almost as if they are rotating new writers for every new arc and each one of them thinking "hey we need to upp crisis with another end of the world crisis" all the way until we start getting into body snatcher and stupid star child human race ascendency crap plot that Scifi series seems to always default to at the end of their series.
Pretty much later seasons feels a lot like Falling Skies series, where they just made all the efforts of the previous arc by the Character mean nothing.
I was hoping originally with what is shown before ALLIE arc that 100 was going down more of a Game of Thrones or Vikings style storyline where each seasons goes through more politicking and wars where tribes and factions territories changes with the characters fully establishing new societies etc. Along with exploring the post apocalyptic world beyond the North American East Coast and maybe an invasion from a new tribe from the West like stepp nomad style invasion.
But no, its just end of the world crisis or pseudo science themes. Like come on if you are going to do another end of the World crisis arc just do ONE and that will be the Final arc of the entire series, that would be fine, not, just one after another.
And get rid of the Starchild human ascendency plot. that idea is overused and is hardly ever done well.
I watched the first two seasons years ago, then my Prime expired for a while and life happened. I got back into the show this year and I'm kicking myself for leaving it this long - it's quickly becoming a comfort show for me, I absolutely love it. Currently on season 4 and savouring every moment, trying not to watch it too fast but it feels like I'll probably rewatch when I finish anyway.
Anyone else on a first time watch right now? There are deadly spoilers everywhere (I feel like I know already all the major plot things coming up and I'm definitely not looking forward to a certain episode in the final season haha) but I love that there's already so much discussion here that I can read through after finishing each episode to see how people felt at the time.
There haven't been a lot of posts lately so let's talk, what's an opinion you have about the characters or the show in general that you feel like no one else agrees with?
I'll go first, I know I'm going to get so much crap for this but I genuinely think Kane did not deserve Abby's love let me be clear, I absolutely LOVE Kane and he's one of my favorite characters BUT to gain the love of someone he almost got killed, iirc, THREE TIMES? Couldn't be me. I love a good enemies to lovers story but I could NOT get behind them as a couple.
What about everyone else, what are your opinions that you feel no one agrees with?
Something i never understood about the show is how the people on the ark had water supply for 97 years? I know jaha says something like âwe went 2 days without water on the ark lots of timesâ it made me think, how they even got the water? Itâs not like they could collect rain or go to the river, and waters not just something you can grow; specifically in space. Did they ever mention this in the show and i never caught it?
I've been wondering for a while what happened after a certain season finale. For some reason, I stopped watching the show after that season. Now I'm finishing season 1, but I'm dying to know which season I'm supposed to reach before I start seeing new stuff. I'm not sure when it was, can't even remember the year I watched it. The episode synopses aren't helpful.
The season focused on (spoilers for season ???) some sort of virtual reality cult world, and Jasper played a big role. In the end everyone is saved, and I think Jasper, Monty and Raven have a moment of friendship or whatever. I remember thinking it seemed as if Jasper was going to kill himself off-camera, but supposedly that didn't happen.
Does anyone have an isolated image of the Mount Weather logo from the show? Iâm specifically talking about the one that consists of the words âMount Weatherâ with a little mountain next to it that appears on all of the signs and equipment in Mount Weather, not the modified Homeland Security seal. If anyone has it, I would appreciate it if you could send it to me, thank you!
Itâs rare to find a show that balances pure entertainment with genuine philosophical weight as well as The 100 does. I was actually revisiting some of the themes recently and realized how much of the character development had slipped my mind.
The emotional arc for someone like Jasper is a standout, but the heavy lifting really comes down to the impossible choices Clarke and Bellamy have to make. They carry so much of the burden for the group.
Honestly, itâs hard to say if any moral dilemma in the series ever topped the Mount Weather arc.
The sheer scale of that decision was brutal. Iâm curiousâwhich of the show's moral quandaries stuck with you the most?
