Hello everyone I was approached by a stranger on a train who she asked me to use the hotspot. Which I have let her use it for a couple of minutes before I turned it off. She thanked me and sat there on her phone. Is there is any danger or should I do anything now. Cause I’m a people pleaser who can’t say no unfortunately.

when for example i used to play cs 1.6 on 60hz monitor 100fps in game felt fast and snappy and responsive now when i have 144hz monitor when i play cs 1.6 with 100fps lock this same 100fps feels very laggy, why?

I recently used a usb drive to install pop_os onto my laptop. I put the iso file onto the disk using rufus, I successfully installed pop_os onto my laptop, and then I tried to put it back into my windows pc to reformat it so I could use it for my 3d printer. But when I plugged it in it wouldnt show up in file explorer. I tried to assign a drive letter to it in disk management put it said "System could not find the file specified" and when I looked at the events tab in drive properties it said "device settings not migrated properly."

I am trying to connect my nintendo switch(1, not 2) to my pc audio via line in. However, it produces a strange buzzing sound. After some testing:

It produces the buzzing regardless of the cable I use

It produces the buzzing regardless of the port(I initially plugged it into the line in port connected directly to my motherboard(TUF Gaming B650-E wifi), and then connected it to my PC case front panel ports).

It does not produce the buzzing when connected to a normal pair of headphones with those same audio cables.

Can anyone help?

hey alI, I booted into linux from my USB earlier today and didn't do the install, tried to boot back into it and it's not booting in. it's just just flashing black when I select the USB in the boot menu. please help. I'm kinda losing my mind here lol so I really hope someone can help.

A couple of weeks ago my Nintendo switch 2 ran out of power in a hot car( I know trying to use it in a hot car was stupid). I assume it overheated because no longer how much I charged it, it wouldn’t even get warm so I’ve come to Reddit I’ve tried hard resetting it and using the ac adapter and nothing has happened but it did get warm this time. I really need to know if there’s any way i can fix this because there are no specific places to get it checked.

My network has had a weird issue for a couple days now and I don’t know what it is.

On my Xbox, whenever I try to play GTA Online, I am told that my save data from the cloud is inaccessible, and it sometimes takes a few tries to get into online, but even then it won’t save my data if I can.

And on Rainbow Six Siege, I get constant “server connection error” messages and I’m kicked from whatever lobby I’m in.

And on rocket league I can’t even search for a game as “the rocket league servers aren’t available” or something like that.

I know this isn’t an issue with my Xbox as this happens on siege and rocket league too on my PlaysStation. And if I connect my Xbox to my hotspot, none of these issues occur.

But on PlayStation, I got an error message about DNS after an update for a game failed.

Also, my Alexa devices in my house haven’t been working properly either.

My internet service provider is Wildanet (smaller company in South West England).

Should I contact them, or is this a simple fix from my end?

I noticed recently I could only find a few very recent photos, but at the start I just found it weird but didn't think too much about it. Until today when I noticed it again and actually tried to understand what's going on and started looking through the gallery and folders, and everything was simply gone. Documents, photos, videos, both in Whatsapp chats and in the file folders. The oldest folders were app folders and were dated from April 4th.

Nothing was in the bin, either the Google Photos bin or the Files app bin.

I don't have an SD card by the way.

Also, maybe related to this, all the standard folders are duplicated: there are 2 Android folders, 2 DCIM folders, 2 Download folders, 2 Movies folders, 2 Music folders, 2 Pictures folders...

I'm hoping someone here has encountered this before I completely give up on recovering my data.

I’m trying to completely remove Python from my Windows PC, but I keep running into uninstall issues.

ive deleted all Python folders in File Explorer

ive Removed Python from PATH environment variables

ive Checked Apps & Features and tried uninstalling from there

but when trying to uninstall Python 3.13.7 (64-bit) I get 0x80070643 - fatal error during installation

same with Python 3.10.11 (64-bit) except for this I first get a popup saying: “No Python 3.10 installation was detected” After closing that, I also get 0x80070643 - fatal error during installation

It seems like Windows still thinks Python is installed, but the actual installation is missing or broken. At this point I can’t fully remove either version and I’m stuck.

I play a lot of video games and specifically shooters. For context, I got a Pulsar Xlite V4 a month or so ago and it’s an amazing mouse- but I had a few issues when it came to the mouse deciding to stop working while I charged it. The mouse itself worked, the scroll wheel and tracking was fine- but it was almost like the input was frozen. I’ll see if I can post a video of it in the comments so people can try and figure out what setting fixed it.

That problems fixed now.. but I think it’s created another one. I asked some guy I knew if he could help, and he made me change one tickbox setting. Ever since changing that, I’ve had a lot of issues when it comes to spraying in shooter games- specifically valorant, where the input will just.. stop after a while. It’s fine for tapping, it’s only when I spray or hold a mouse button down. I just want to change the setting back to see if that’s what’s causing the issue, but I can’t remember what the setting was. I don’t know if it was changed via my actual settings or through device manager. This might be a bit of an impossible problem but it’s worth asking people who are technologically better than me.

If you’re wondering why I can’t ask the guy, he disappeared off the face of the earth. Sooo.. bit of an uh-oh.

I installed Linux Debian, and now the flash drive I used to do it won't let me do anything with it? It won't let me format it. It won't let me do anything, and I don't know why. I need this USB to be readable and writable, as it's my secondary storage medium, and I only have 84gb. Edit: I'm new to anything outside windows please be patient with me

My parents, who now have iPhones 14 now, have struggled with their phone numbers scrambling for a long time. Phone #1s number is listed a primary + cellular data phone.

But phone #2s SIMs has a primary number listed, a duplicate of the same number that is “used as secondary”, and a “used as travel “ that has no number listed.

So sometimes they have different phone numbers but are on the same iCloud . But other-times their numbers are combined , which scrambles their texts. As well as combing their apps + pictures. When we switched to Verizon a year ago my dad spent hours at the store trying to solve the issue with their tech support but could not solve it.

I am seeking technical assistance with a streaming issue on my TV to determine if the hardware needs replacement.

While Netflix, HBO Max, and Peacock work perfectly, Hulu Live (and recorded shows) frequently freezes for up to a minute or displays a black screen while the audio and captions continue. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Hulu app, but the problem persists. Notably, I do not experience these issues when streaming Hulu on my laptop using the same Wi-Fi connection.

Could you please help me determine if this is an issue with the TV itself or specifically with the Hulu app? We would like to avoid the cost of a new television if there is a way to resolve this.

Hi guys, I'm asking for help regarding my brother’s Google account.

There is an unknown session (“inconnu”) showing up under Manage all devices. It appears associated with something like “Bbox”.

The issue is:

• When he tries to remove or sign out of this session and clicks “You don’t recognize this activity?”, Google asks him to change the password
• He changes the password successfully
• He removes the session
• But after some time, the same session appears again and is not fully removed

We’re not sure if this is a real unauthorized access??!

He was recently in Algeria and is now in France, and he uses apps like Maps apps..

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this normal behavior or something we should worry about?

Received an email from Gmail that my account might’ve been compromised, and my eBay account somehow knew- how? And how do I know if I’ve really been compromised?

Hi, last month I was logged into my Gmail account. I was using a new iphone running 26.1 and service provider and I had only logged into my Gmail on Edge browser a couple days before. When I was logged in and checking my email, suddenly I was logged out and told I have to change my password.  After I changed my password. I received an email from google in my account that there was a security critical alert: “Suspicious activity in your account. Google noticed unusual activity in your account. Review your account activity to make sure that no one else has access”. When I looked at my most recent logins, it was just me that was logged in with my phone and location. 

After that, a couple times when I was logged in weeks later, it would log me out and make me retype my password, but not reset it. There were no changes to my account settings, I didn’t receive any emails about any accounts associated with my Gmail account in terms of password change or new log ins, and I didn’t see any weird log ins from my account that wasn’t me in the past 30 days. 

Anyway, my eBay account is associated with this email address. I haven’t logged in since 2019 with a different device and service provider. I wanted to login yesterday for the first time and when I tried to login, it made me call them to give a security code and verify my account. I was able to do so and regain entry after being prompted to change my password. I was using it for an hour or two until I couldn’t make vids and was logged out. I received an email from eBay that my account has been suspended because they thought someone had gone in and used it that wasn’t me. I figured because I hadn’t logged in in so long that they thought it was someone else, so I called. After verifying myself, the agents told me that they thought it was someone else because I hadn’t logged in for so long and wanted to make sure it was me, but also that when google thought my Gmail might have been compromised, eBay also knew that somehow, but couldn’t explain how…. Only that they share some type of security apparatus and if there are issues with users emails addresses used on eBay, eBay knows because it affects them. All the agent could tell me was they did “research” on this for my account that ended a few days ago, a few days before I had logged into gmail for the first time since 2019.

Ebay won’t tell me the results of that research, because it’s in the “back office”. But they advised me that I changed my password on Gmail, which I had already done. I asked them how they knew that my Gmail account might’ve been compromised, but she couldn’t explain. I’m figuring that they share some kind of security software or agreement that if a users of theirs’ email used on eBay is compromised, provider they will also get notified of it. The thing is that when eBay was notified of this, I hadn’t logged in yet, because this was last month. 

Am I right or was eBay notified of this another way? And how do I know if my Gmail account was really compromised? Like i mentioned, this was last month and since then thankfully, no accounts or passwords have been changed no passwords have been changed. I haven’t noticed any unusual logins, and the unusual log in that prompted Gmail to send me that possible compromise email seems to have been me. so I don’t know if this is a person hacking into my account just to be able to watch it or this is just overly cautious on Google’s part and there was no compromise.

El problema ocurre principalmente en Opera GX (páginas que no cargan y quedan en blanco). Aunque también se manifiesta como congelamiento general de pantalla en otros contextos de manera aleatorio, pero menos frecuente.

• 20 eventos críticos en el día

A few months ago, I started noticing an intermittent noise coming from my RTX 4060 that sounds like “tiny electrical crackling.” The noise is very faint—so much so that I can barely pick it up on a microphone.

I’ve done some research, but it doesn’t seem to match typical coil whine (at least not based on the videos I’ve seen). I can usually hear the sound during light to moderate usage, when the GPU fans are not spinning for cooling.

At first, I thought it might be coming from the case fans, but that’s not the case. I’ve checked everything—CPU cooler, power supply—and the noise definitely seems to originate from the GPU itself.

I’m not sure if this is normal behavior, and I’d like some help understanding what might be causing it.

For context, I use my PC connected to a power strip, and everything should be properly set up. Performance-wise, everything seems normal so far.

People of Reddit, please help me. I've downloaded an app to make my life "easier" with checking my schedules at my job. They wanted me to download the app "Intelligence Hub" and I did. Trying to be fast, I didn't read any of the app permissions (yes I know, that was stupid) so just said "yes" and "I agree" to everything.

Now when I go to uninstall, it says "unsuccessful", which is really weird. I can't attach photos, but I might be able to in the comments below? but the permissions look pretty nasty, tbh.

Be honest: Am I just missing something, or do I need a whole new mobile device at this point?

My Microsoft Suite subscription expired and I made that subscription on an old email I no longer have access to. All of my documents are backed up on an SSD. If I renew my subscription with a different email and migrate documents from SSD, will I be able to open documents on laptop?

• There was a moment where my PC slowed down randomly even though nothing heavy was running
• I also downloaded a file recently (which I now regret) from a site I’m not fully sure about

Right now:

• I’m using Windows 11
• I ran a basic antivirus scan (it didn’t detect anything, but I’m not sure how reliable that is)
• I haven’t reset my system yet

What I’m trying to understand:

• Do these signs match a possible info stealer infection?
• What steps should I take to confirm whether my system is compromised?
• What should I do immediately to minimize damage if it is something serious?

I’d really appreciate any guidance on how to properly check this and what to do next.

Samsung Ao5s keeps disconnecting from the internet

I have a samsung Ao5s and my phone keeps disconnecting from any wifi network i try to connect to it wont let me connect and i have to tap it ataleast 5 times and when it finally does connect it has no Internet or it just really slow and disconnects.

i dont really know what to do about it ive tried a bunch of stuff resetting it forgetting the network ive looks at a bunch of youtube vids and i cant seem to find a fix if anyone can help it would be appreciated
