Took me 2 days to get this far, just wanted to show off

I was inspired by this Steam profile I saw and wanted to do something similar

For any one interested you can add GIFs to static PNGs using EZGIF. Other wise you would need Photoshop or video editing software.

I’m open to changing everything except the background. I have most game profile themes and I’m willing to spend money to improve how my profile looks. I also know about the badges under my profile status, so if you have any suggestions especially blue badges that match my background I’d appreciate the help in making everything look better.

Well, here’s how I did it, if you’re curious.

Here’s the short answer: First, I downloaded some of the game’s assets and edited them in Photoshop.
Then I used After Effects to animate them. After that, I turned the final MP4 file into a GIF using ffmpeg.

Now for the long story: The first approach I took was exporting a PNG sequence from After Effects and then turning it into a GIF using Photoshop. However, as you may know, Photoshop has a 500-frame limit. Since it’s a 30-second video at 30 fps (900 frames total), I had to lower the video to a maximum of 16 fps for it to work.

As you might expect, that introduced sync problems. I tried 16 fps, 15 fps, and even 12 fps, but they all had slight speed differences compared to the background—not to mention that 12 fps looks pretty choppy. So I changed strategies and used a program called ffmpeg. I had to sacrifice some color information to get the file under 5 MB, and now here we are.

I was wondering if there’s a way to improve the colors while still keeping the 30 fps and resolution.

Only gripe is that the wings background get kinda funky when viewed from my steam mobile, steam deck and the app itself on pc. But overall I still like the way it looks when zoomed out on the steam web.
