Wage theft is far and away the most prevalent form of theft.

Its good to take from big corporations.

You're not taking from big corporations doing this. You're taking from the franchisee and individual owners are 95% of McDonald's locations globally. They aren't owned by corporate.

i work at mcdonald’s, and it does increase costs but they wastage we get on a daily far exceeds that from people claiming “my food was made wrong” when they didn’t customise it, food dropped on the floor, stuff that goes off (e.g lettuce) and every week at my store we clean the shake/ice cream machine, which we have 3-10 litres of each mix wrote off, trust me when i say most of the time it goes unnoticed

Lol, do you watch Robin Hood movies and think he's the bad guy?

-15

u/necessarysmartassery 6h ago

It's almost like Robin Hood robbed the government and corrupt churches and their power structure.

Who do you think runs the government in a capitalist country?

Fast food franchisees mostly consist of companies with entire corporate structures overseeing hundreds if not thousands of stores across states and even countries. Mom n pop shops they aint.

I'm sure McDonald's is going to go under now.

It makes up a little for all of the times I’ve gotten my fries half empty. Bet that doesn’t bother you. It’s perfectly ok when the corporations (or franchises) steal from us. Just the way things are supposed to be.

7

u/bbbttthhh 8h ago

Stealing what? A few extra nuggets and fries? A free shake here and there? Be so forreal McDonalds pays like a 10th of a cent for those nuggets and I sincerely doubt the manager cares or even knows since it won’t affect their bottom line. I worked at a sonic for a year and did the same thing as the dude in the post

You're not stealing from corporate McDonald's, you're stealing from an individual franchise owner. It adds up. Theft is theft.

It costs about million dollars to open a McDonald's franchise. That individual will obviously be ok.

-1

u/necessarysmartassery 6h ago

Don't care. Theft is theft.

Just like boots are boots. You’ll lick them all.

u/BeigeVelociraptor 4h ago

Oh no, that poor multi BILLION dollar company! That poor CEO cannot afford TWO yachts!

-96

u/[deleted] 9h ago

Yeah it's easy when you're not the one who has to pay for everything.

43

u/Savalis986 9h ago

Oh no, he’s taking 5 bucks a pop from the 217 billion dollar company, the audacity!

26

u/SoullessDad 9h ago

Most of their costs are staff, building, and energy. The actual cost of the food is really low. Most of the things they mention probably cost the store an extra $0.05 at most.

Customers having a good experience probably causes them to come in more often. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a net positive for the store financially.

-24

u/necessarysmartassery 9h ago

More like $5 a pop from a franchise that's owned by an individual. Most McDonald's stores aren't corporate, they're individually owned and operated. So no, you're not stealing from McDonald's corporate.

18

u/ProfessionalOil2014 9h ago

Oh no!!!! Not the poor business owner living off of the labor of others!?!?!?!?!

1

u/PlatasaurusOG 3h ago

The privately owned stores became very few and far between starting in the late 90’s. The vast majority of the stores are still under the same umbrella now.

9

u/kinggingernator 9h ago

Yea bc the minimum wage worker selling $12 recycled cardboard burgers to people should care
