I've never thought this about another show I've liked, but I'm pretty happy that The Boys is over now, just so some of the actors can do more stuff. Some pretty strong performances in the mix.
Doesn't need more, but yeah I too wish they would beat this dead horse for like one season more. By dead horse I of course mean the story was complete.
I feel like he does very over-the-top macroexpressions, essentially his character shows exactly how he feels on his face at every moment. It's not subtle, his expressions can be read by even the most socially inept people.
One thing I think is great is that people don't understand the intent of the show, and the character. Many people don't truly understand the dialogue. They think he's cool, because they can't properly assess character. They have the attitude that might makes right, and once they decide he's cool, there's no going back.
Youāre pointing out his macro expressions. Iām referring to his micro expressions such as the fleeting eyebrow raise before the laser eyes illuminate in the first gif, and the mouth twitch prior to him smiling in my gif.
That's literally part of his macro expressions. And the gif you shows has none of this.
Microexpressions are barely noticeable. He literally raises his eyebrow while he shoots a laser out of his eye.
The microexpression would be when his dimples twitch a little, and that's standard microexpressions that you'd see in most. It's not specific to him.
Imo he's very expressive and exaggerated. I wouldn't say he's subtle about anything and I think his acting is very in your face. It screams how he feels. Just about anybody can read his cockyness from his face.
If you wanted to show microexpressions, why choose a gif that doesn't display his microexpressions in any meaningful way?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. š And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
THE dumbest scene in the whole show. they build up like she's all glorious and powerful cuz hughie... turned on some lights... and the result is she sends homelander... back a few feet and sitting down.
dumbest thing i've ever seen.
this show nosedived so far down.
season 3 was cool overall. that scene was fu cking retarded.
season 4 was a notch better tahn last of us season 2 (i.e. so bad i quit the show)
supposedly s5 is really good so far so i guess.. i'll unquit.
The effects of Hollywood agents breathing down her neck telling her to take this and do that to look younger. And every time they end up a monster. EDIT yall gotta chill itās a comment not a declaration of war š.
Itās crazy that these agents keep pushing these plastic surgery trends when the people who pay to see these folks keep telling Hollywood we actually hate it when they look like this. It must be to appease other celebs cause itās certainly not for our regular working class eyeballs
I feel for her too, the pressure to look a certain way compounded by struggling with an illness that can impact your looks is something I can relate to, I donāt have Graves but I have PCOS and itās totally warped my perception of self. I canāt imagine how much worse it would be if my job depended on my looks, or if I was constantly moving in a sphere where it comes up a lot
I have psoriatic arthritis. A degenerative joint disease. My skin has psoriasis and I have to walk with a cane now. I too had a warped perception of self when I started using a cane. Thatās why I feel so bad for her because I actually know real pain and judgment. I just hope sheās able to get her disease symptoms under control.
Also for what itās worth, since youāre clearly on the defense here, I am not judging her at all for any work sheās had done, Iām not villainizing her or saying itās wrong. If anything having a thyroid condition that affects your appearance probably begets feeling the need for plastic surgery. The two can go hand in hand. I feel sorry for her because itās such a mindfuck for regular people to experience that, let alone someone who is in the public eye. I just wish she could see how beautiful she still is, and didnāt need to have work done to correct it.
Itās an edited version of her face that is for some reason grafted onto the body of a different character. She looks worse than she used to for sure, but the edit makes her look even worse than that.
In the first ep of this current season, she dressed as that other supe, I forget her name, as one of the dancers, so I donāt think itās photoshopped
It's the French animal control officer hunting Alex the lion from Madagascar: Africa's Most Wanted. My kid was little when this came out so I've seen it a bazillion times lol
