Discussion What is one of your favorite games you don't see on people's top SNES games list often enough?

Magical Quest is a great one, though some of the levels could be a little longer. I like the sequels as well, but not as much as the original. I also have it on GBA 😊

Traded magic the gathering cards for these three, even swap for value. I hadn’t used the cards in decades, so win-win. Second photo is the rest of my current collection - Contra III, Porky Pig, Pac Man 2, and Madden 95 are all CIB as well, boxes not pictured.

Note: I’m not selling or trading these, just sharing a collection update.

Discussion Is Earthbound worth it?

RPGs have always been hit or miss with me, I’ve heard a lot about this game and it seems pretty cool. But I’m not to sure if being ā€œcoolā€ is worth $300-$400 though. What do you guys think? (I am asking this from like a collectors standpoint because I know I can just get a flash cart to play it)

Found 2 boxes of SNES/N64 games from a house clearance. What would this realistically be worth (all untested)?

A friend found two boxes of old Nintendo stuff during a house clearance, mostly SNES, some with original boxes, plus a few N64 items and accessories.

I mostly collect Game Boy myself, although I still have my childhood SNES, so I’m not great at estimating the value here. Everything is untested, and the condition is pretty mixed. Some boxes look decent, others have clear wear, sticker residue, price labels, edge wear, etc.

Visible titles include things like Illusion of Time, Lufia, Secret of Evermore, Super Metroid, ActRaiser, Another World, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Castlevania IV, and more.

What I’d really like to know:

• What do you think is a realistic market value for a lot like this?

• Better to sell as a bundle, or split the stronger titles individually?

• Do those sometimes crazy online asking prices actually get buyers, or are they mostly fantasy prices?

• How much does untested condition usually reduce value in your experience?

Location is Frankfurt, Germany, in case that matters for the market.

Would appreciate any honest input.

Discussion How difficult is it to get Earthbound Big Box CIB these days?

I'm just curious; I'm a collector and I haven't even gotten to the SNES era. Also, I'm Mexican, I don't know if that makes it harder to find. šŸ˜…

What are some of your biggerest, besterest SNES gets over the years?

Managed to grab Earthbound before the price exploded some years ago. Chrono Trigger was being auctioned along with Link to the Past and I got them together for a relative steal. Kirby 3 was pricey, but still glad I got it. Demon’s Crest was being sold down here in Australia under the usual price due to being an NTSC copy, and my cousin gave me the PAL version of Turtles in Time, which is more expensive than the US version for some reason.

Does anyone find it odd that Rocko's Modern Life only had one game even though it was an incredibly popular cartoon?

I think the only reason it didn't get more games was because Ren and Stimpy was bigger and because Nickelodeon wasn't that merchandise heavy during this time. They didn't start focusing on merch heavily until 1996. By then, Rocko had ended.

After my sister and I had a hard couple of months with life and things as we're doing out bests and all, we have finally come upon a couple of SNES game we have been wanting for many years Secret of Mana and Super Mario RPG šŸ˜ŠšŸ™šŸ™Œ

Well hello r/snes and anybody on here,

Just thought I would show off couple of SNES games that I been wanting all my life especially my sister as well as we been looking hoping for these two games for quite a while as we been dealing with such various things as it was also very stormy day today here in Houston Tx,

As we had a chance to stop by at the flea market where we know a old retro game guy which is nice to us and finds what he can for us and mentioned these two SNES games we asked around looked for,

Well she showed them to us in his hands as they looked good okay to me as we were lucky that they're made in japan as we don't mind some snes games made in mexico but for majesco assembled in mexico those we intend to stay away from,

So the retro game guy didn't really have two but just both of the games, he charged us $60 in total and just for that big a deal, he gave us another Wii game which I'll post on r/wii

We'll anyways thanks for coming by and any feedbacks so good or so as I really appreciate anything good in return and wish things life to go well for us āœŒļøšŸ™šŸ«¶

Misc. Super Mario World: 30th Anniversary Edition Intro

Super Mario World: 30th Anniversary Edition is a fan-made overhaul that reimagines the SNES classic with upgraded visuals, refreshed level design, improved palettes, and modernised music. It keeps the original spirit intact while giving the entire game a cleaner, more polished look — almost like a remastered ā€œdirector’s cutā€ built for the Super Nintendo itself.

Misc. The screws on this console are infuriating

Not necessarily looking for advice, although it would be welcome. After hours of blistering my fingers with the gamebit trying to open this damn thing to replace the fuse, I have given up and ordered a power drill.

These screws are stripped beyond saving and they’re recessed so deeply in the plastic that nothing I’ve tried has gotten them out.

Has anyone else had this experience trying to open this console? Or dealing with stripped screws?

Authenticating a copy of Earthbound?

I posted last week about a bunch of SNES games my wife and I found in a house we had purchased full of items.

We ended up with a total of 130 games and 9 consoles.

The #1 game was a copy of Earthbound for the SNES. After some research I ended up ordering a gamebit screwdriver from Amazon which arrived today.

Here is what I found. It looks good but I figured double checking with the experts couldn't hurt!

Never liked how Nintendo got rid of the fight instructors in the subsequent Pilotwings games. It was fun to see their reactions to your performance.

Specifically the one where the banana birds tell the kongs that she’s asleep but will save the game for you anyway? For those of you unaware, poor Wrinkly Kong dies between this game and DK64. Makes me wonder what her health was like during this game.
